Great staff. Chill & knowledge about surf equipment. I stop in to check out their new boards a few times a year. And don’t sleep on their FireWires - they ride super well and are incredibly strong.

Really happy with my experience here yesterday. I needed a board that would work better for me than the ones I have been using. The staff was super helpful getting to know what it was that I was after, and even let me take the board outside to see if it would fit inside my Mini (e.g. no roof racks) before purchasing. Many thanks to Lynn Shell, "Boogie", and the other employee whose name I didn't catch. You guys rock! I will definitely be returning when I'm on the island and need surfing stuff.

This review is long overdue, but last fall I came in looking to get my first epoxy surfboard and everyone in the shop was friendly and made the process very approachable and non-intimidating. I'd been procrastinating getting a new board for a while just because I didn't know what I was doing and didn't even know what questions to ask. I've been using the board this summer and it's been perfect for me. So a shout out to the team for putting me on an affordable, amazing board (Torq 8' mini longboard) that's great for my skill level and has really helped progress my surfing.

I rented surfboard for 2 days but was unable to surf those days due to red flags. The company was very accommodating and allowed me to move my reservation to a separate day and gave me a full refund for the days I couldn’t use the boards. I would rent from them again next time I’m in OBX

Alan (sp?) was friendly and helpful and so willing to answer our little guy’s questions about different types of boards! Laid back, knowledgeable staff, great clothing selection. If our son ends up enjoying skateboarding, we will 100% be ordering from this shop when we get back home to NYS!

Bought a surfboard along with a couple of accessories. Lynn was super helpful and attentive. They understand customer service, one of the best experiences I’ve encountered! Great selection of boards, both new and consignment. Really good selection of clothes. The store is neat and we’ll laid out.

I had a problem with a board I bought two days ago, brought it back and exchanged it for a new one with zero issues. The customer service is top notch. I drove from Duck originally to buy my board because of past experiences there almost a decade ago. I’m glad to see the service and merch hasn’t changed. Just ordered the Torq Mod Fun 7'2" from Outer Banks Boarding Company (OBBC). I used to surf all the time in OBX. I'm currently back in my hometown in Louisiana, so I surf either Galveston, TX or Florida. I've been to their store before and it's so nice to see they're still as friendly, helpful and professional as ever!

When I reached out to them about the specific board I wanted, Allen Briley responded to each and every one of my e-mails without delay, which is rare to find in this day and age. Even though they didn't have it in stock at the shop, Allen was able to find my board in the exact dimensions and color that I wanted at a warehouse in Wilmington, NC, and was even able to work it out so the sales rep at the warehouse would be able to ship it to me this coming week (versus having to ship it to the store first)!

Allen went above and beyond to get me the exact board that I wanted, and that's so important cause of the cost of these boards, how they ride differently depending on the dimensions and how hard it is to find the exact color you want. I highly recommend OBBC to anyone in the market for a new surfboard. I honestly would try them first before going anywhere else.

Not being from here, We knew nothing about boarding of any kind and the man there helped our 13 year old get exactly what he needed to have some fun on the beach. He recommended a good beginner board and told him all about how he could get better and what he could eventually upgrade to. He told us about how to care for the board and helped him with his first wax at no charge. He was super helpful and friendly. It is obvious that he loves his job! Highly recommend.

The guys working were super chill, super helpful and professional. They're very knowledgeable on their products. If you need Skateboard or surfboard products, this is the place to go! They answered all my questions and got me all fixed up in no time. Prices were good and service was great! 5 star store all the way!
