I had a WONDERFUL experience with my mom here, and we stumbled on this place by chance when we couldn't get into any Irish bars for St Patty's Day weekend!!

I must say our server HOLLAND was so phenomenal and made our experience here superb. She explained the menu thoroughly and helped us pick what would be best to try. Also she suggested a delicious wine option that I absolutely loved!! We took to go boxes because this place serves big portions.

**Definitely try the chicken avocado salad, cucumber feta salad with mint, the pecan encrusted TROUT, and cheeseburger/fries. EVERYTHING was Amazing. Carrot Cake was over the top;)

We will be back soon to this classy yet casual oasis. Perfect for a date night or hanging with mom.

I had an outstanding dining experience here today, the service and atmosphere were equally impressive. The entrees and side dishes were prepared absolutely to perfection. Met some interesting people and had wonderful conversations. The Pub Attendant "aka Bartender" was very attentative as well as friendly. Had a really good time today and spent more time there than expected...not because of slow service, because of having a great time! I Highly recommend popping in and having a good meal and good times.

3 trips here. Both times I've enjoyed great service and excellent food.
The Avocado Bomb and Jacks Chicken are to die for. So good! We will continue to come to this fine restaurant.

Our family of 4 celebrated my 43rd birthday here tonight! I made an online reservation only yesterday and under the special requests I asked that if possible we were given a table with a view of the kitchen. We love watching a kitchen in action! When we arrived it was obvious that my online notes made it to the hostess stand. We had a fantastic spot with a fun view of the kitchen! Our daughter (10) was especially locked in on the chef and crew! At the end of our meal she asked if she could go say thank you to the chef. She stood in the doorway of the kitchen, and told him her rockfish was perfect and thank you so much! He smiled and thanked her for saying so! Our meal was lovely! We highly recommend the avocado bomb, local rockfish, rattlesnake pasta, carrot cake, and the hummingbird martini!!
Definitely a fun birthday dinner or special occasion spot! Wait staff was attentive and pleasant! Perfect leisurely dinner!

Beautiful presentation and venue. The bar was on point with their drinks 🍸 with great portions. The entrees were well dressed and the burger phenomenal. I tried the Steak Maui and Slow Roasted Prime Rib. I can't say the steaks were quite as juicy or tasty as they looked, but the warm and friendly service complemented everything so well. It was a quality experience. Thank you for the wonderful time, I look forward to coming again

I had such an amazing dining experience. Sarah D. was my waitress and she was fabulous. She made excellent food and cocktail suggestions. The calamari was delicious and the pork chop was the best pork chop that I have ever had. It was marinated and cooked to perfection. So tender and juicy and the apricot sauce was to die for. I had to get my salmon glazed with the apricot sauce as well. I couldn’t get enough of it! The drinks were good as well. I love the atmosphere and decor. Simply amazing!

This was a great experience out waitress Evee kept the table full. The ambiance is very nice and chill. Thanks we be back for date night great time.

Was genuinely surprised by how much I liked their food. Everything was great and the staff was friendly. By far the best carrot cake I have ever had. I will be returning to this location

Excellent food and service. Went for the first time on my wife's birthday and were surprised how nice it is.

I have shared a picture of their cattot cake, my favorite. It was served warm with gooey frosting. The filet was excellent. Charred on the outside and warm and red in the middle.

I visited the new Annapolis location for the first time on Sunday, the 22nd, for lunch. To start, we ordered the Crispy Calamari, which was impressively crispy and flavorful. For my entree, I went with the Filet Mignon with Bearnaise and chose mac and cheese as a substitute for the baked potato. My friend opted for the Oven Roasted Chicken with smashed potatoes and a chicken demi-glace. Everything was seasoned to perfection, and the portions were generous enough for leftovers, which is always a plus when dining out.

We spent a little more than usual since it was my friend's birthday and we got a bottle of champagne. Other than that, the price is appropriate.

Tony, our knowledgeable server, greeted us with a bright smile. He recommended the perfect wine and food pairings, and we're eager to return and try more.

Surprised to see that some reviewers commented negatively about the food and service. This is the best new restaurant in Annapolis. J’s clearly works on a group service model where everyone is responsible for helping every table regardless if it’s theirs or not. We must have seen 6 different staff members during our meal. Our server wasn’t even the one that greeted us and got our drinks.

The food was excellent, starting with the artichokes which were perfectly cooked and came with a tasty sauce for dipping. The salads were delicious and fresh and served in cold bowls which was a nice touch. The Steak Maui is a “highly recommend” marinated steak and the Pork Chop was equally delightful. The highlight though was the Carrot Cake. Served warm, moist and with a tasty cream cheese icing, it is the best you will ever have. Definitely visit this place. You’ll want to go back over and over again. Cheers!

My wife and I went here for the first time yesterday and we were both very impressed. I had a pork chop, per the recommendation of our server, and was very happy with my food. My wife had cilantro shrimp which she also enjoyed. It was not super busy when we were in there, but the service was great. If any server walked by the table and saw an empty glass they would give us a refill or clear a plate etc. The remodel of the restaurant was very well done and ambience was nice. We sat by the window looking into the kitchen and as someone who has worked in many restaurants I also have to mention it was the cleanest kitchen I have ever seen. Overall great food, great place, great service!

Our first time here and it was an excellent experience. The service from Madison was great.

We started with the avocado bomb and really enjoyed this reimagining of a California roll, without the rice. We do wish they served soy sauce on the aide, but very good nonetheless.

For dinner we had the ahi salad and filet with bearnaise and loaded potato. Both excellent. The salad had the pickled ginger and gob of wasabi a bit hidden, so make sure you look for those. They are critical to taking this dish to the next level. The steak had a great crust and great flavor. The potato was so well cooked and the toppings were flavorful.

Not very expensive, either, considering the food and service quality. We'll be back.

We came here last night with a party of 35 for our company Christmas dinner.
The food was great! Drinks were also good!
Who I really want to commend are the servers and bartenders who waited on us. Well done to them! The kitchen staff as well. It is not easy making sure that a party that large, all gets their food relatively at the same time.
We had a great time and I definitely recommend this restaurant!

Food was amazing and the bartenders were very knowledgeable, and very helpful. Would 100% recommend! We had the Queso, Pork Chop and the Crispy Chicken.

J. Alexander's offers delicious food in a beautiful contemporary atmosphere. We shared the daily special black bean soup and were amazed at the wonderful flavors of smoked sausage and tomato. For lunch, I hat the crispy Nashville hot chicken sandwich, and my wife had a French dip. Both were amazing, hot, and delicious. The French dip was perfectly rare and tasty. My chicken was crispy and spicy. I highly recommend trying J. Alexander's in Annapolis. 5 stars!!!

I had a reservation for four on Monday, October 30. The food and the service was superb. I got the pecan encrusted trout, it was excellent. Wife got the lobster roll and totally enjoyed it. Sister-in-law got the spicy cilantro shrimp and really enjoyed it. My brother got the steak and cheese, he devoured it. The crab dip was perfect as well as the avocado bomb with tuna. We had the key lime pie, which was a perfect ending for lunch. I will return soon.

I had an amazing 1st time I walked in ready to hold the door for the lady and she actually works here and was holding it for me. The atmosphere was great. My server was Morgan and she greeted me with a smile and asked me what I would like to drink and got it to me quick. I loved my waiter she was amazing. Talked about how they just opened and everything, very nice and welcoming. Restaurant was amazing. I would come back

We had a wonderful experience Saturday with my mom in town. Food was out of this world! We don't go out much but when we do we like to hit quality establishments and even so shortly after opening, this is already on our shortlist of favorites! We'll definitely be back soon.

Great service, multiple people checked in and timing was efficient and smooth. We could tell there were several trainers in the restaurant. Nice to see they're so invested in a quality launch. So happy this took the place of Gordon Beirsch which honestly took a nosedive over the years. I hope we can count on this location staying good for a long time!

Recommend the chocolate cake and the carrot cake. I don't even like chocolate cake and I'm committed to ordering it every time. Also the prime rib, it's my husband's favorite dish and he said it's the best he ever had 👏 I'm also not one to order that but I will next time after he let me have a bite 😁 No one else in the area has this on their menu regularly, so I can see this place becoming a go-to for us. Last thing, I will warn you the mashed potatoes are absolutely addictive!!
