Came here to renew my passport and it couldn't have went more smoothly. I was in and out in 20 mins photos and all. Not to mention there was 3 of renewing. There was also lots of gift cards, gift bags and birthday cards, holiday cards etc the gift bags were a lot cheaper than at Safeway or Walgreens. Love that this post office is in a historic building loved the architecture of it! Also want to mention that the employees here were very nice too!! Will definitely be back!!

Just wanna give a certain worker huge props. The younger black guy, I think with some forearm tats who usually works in the package n shipping room at the window all the way to the left and wears a backwards hat, deserves a big raise or promotion. He helped me out on a really stressful day when I was moving and helped me mail a huge box of stuff while making sure it was able to be shipped, and did it all in less than five minutes. His knowledge and customer service skills made my day 100 times easier than it shoulda been. He's a great employee, I hope he sees this and thank you so much dude!! Give that man a raise or promotion, seriously!

Better than UPS. But UPS here have no standards.

I just dropped off another package for shipment and it was painless as usual.

For those concerned about wait time, that has less to do with the staff and location than the people in front of you. The majority of people in front of me don't have anything prepared when they get to the window and/or ask an endless amount of questions that they either don't understand the answers to, or don't like the answers received.

About the only thing you can do is have your packages/parcels/letters ready to minimize the time spent on your visit.

Some tips:
Ensure your package is packed, sealed, and labeled properly.
Have the return address and send to address either on a label or printed legibly.
Know what the value is and purchase insurance if you feel like you need it.
Recognize the differences in shipment methods and potential limitations and liability.
Declare dangerous goods.
Plan on it taking longer than you think you alone are going to take to get what you need to done.
If something isn't to your liking, mention it, but recognize that for issues surrounding the process around things (passports, international shipments, insurance forms and claims) there is little to no wiggle room as this is a government agency and highly regulated.

That said...

Be nice. Without fail, every employee has been polite and helpful whenever I interacted with them but I tried to be polite to them as well.

Super fast service. The place is clean, and the staffs are friendly and friendly

Not sure why all the bad reviews, but I had as great an experience as one can picking up a package. The service was fast and friendly, and the building is gorgeous. My one complaint is actually for Google. I ended up going to three different locations labeled "US Post Office", before finding the actual one. The others were PO Boxes and little annexes/drop off locations. Please fix the names of these!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience today at the post office I expected to be rushed and not have many questions answered but when I got there a lovely woman named Antoinette took 15 mins at least of her own time to sit with me and show me three different ways that I can make sure that I could get my mail she was completely non-judgemental being that I was there without a physical address and having to get general deliverywhich is never something fun to do but she was non-judgmental and super helpful and I'll never forget how nice she was thank you Antoinette!

Line wasn’t long, 2 person serving customers. Shipping a package in and out 10 minutes

This location has polite and extremely helpful people. Thanks USPS for being reliable year after year.

The usual wait for courteous competent service. Quicker and nicer than expected.

Postal workers are good, people reviewing public services under stress harshly are bad.

WPA building which put people to work equal employment to boot!

Easy to maneuver and quick and courteous service.

Had a Chinese speaking person there when I went!

The staff is efficient and courteous.
