The staff is hella chill, happy, and patient. The prices are typical and the selection is wide. My person helped me through 8-10 different types of models from 5 different brands. They asked me about my hobbies and different types of exercise to get me the best type of shoe. They also informed me about the runners club the company hosts.

I really like the simple design that this storefront has! They have a lot of running shoes available, of course! It's a shame I couldn't find the asics brand here(I was told they have some in the near future as of this review) I will be coming back here! It's always nice to have a dedicated running store where the workers are runners and you can ask them questions about all things running! Staff are very friendly!

Absolutely love this spot! The owner and staff are super knowledgeable about shoes and which work best for which activity. They’re also INCREDIBLY nice!! They also have super fashionable (and breathable) brands for athletic and sweat-wicking clothing. There is metered parking right outside the store. Cannot recommend enough.

Love this place! I just got my second pair of running shoes from here and I’m never buying online again. The staff was super knowledgeable and took their time to help me out and talk through my options. I tried on like 7 pairs and love that they have a treadmill so I could actually test how the shoes feel when running.
Update - the running clubs they host are so fun!! Especially the women’s one, it’s a very welcoming space

This a great place. When I walk in they were very helpful (Hannah and Ellis). I had all kinds of questions and they answered each one. They are super knowledgeable. They didn't pressure me to purchase, but I believe they helped me find a good pair of shoes. So I bought them (Brooks Glycerin 20). I put them to test today and I am happy with my purchase. Thanks. I look forward to also running with you guys too.

Serious runner here. Running Renegade is doing everything right. The staff are experiencing, knowledgeable, passionate, humble, helpful and friendly RUNNERS. The store stocks real, legit running shoes from the brands you know and a few brands that you may have never heard of. Shout out to Ellis and Hannah who work there. They impressed me with their professionalism and expertise.

I came in looking for a pair of running shoes for my first marathon. Little did I know, I found so much more. Not only does this place have a great selection of shoes, it also has a running club, community events, PT service, and a recovery room. The staff is great and knowledgeable, and I like that the space has an open community feel.

Awesome store. The inside of the store is beautiful and Victor was incredibly helpful. He’s incredibly knowledgeable about shoes and was able to guide me through a variety of different options and which may be best for me and my running style. My wife found this store online and saw some great reviews. The reviews were spot on. The owner, Victor, is super knowledgeable and was able to give me a lot of good advice on the right shoes for my feet shape. I’d absolutely go back for my next pair or if I needed any running gear.

Wow, even if you’re not big into running and you just need some comfortable walking shoes around town or even on trails, this is a great spot to checkout. My friend is part of the running club which is a part of this store Renegade Running and she recommended I checkout their shoes and see which one fits best versus buying a ton online. Victor and his other employee I forgot his name were super informative and educated me on all the different brands, styles and purposes of each shoe. I was interested in Hokas and I was able to compare 6 different options based on the amount of cushion and stability it provided. These guys are more than happy to help you find a pair of shoes that you love. Don’t be intimidated to try this store out even if you’re not into running. They do have a treadmill to help you evaluate your stride in the shoes you try on. Everyone needs a good pair of walking shoes and these can do both - walking and jogging/running.

I ended loving my Hokas so much I walked out of the store with them on after purchasing and retired my APLs in the box my new shoes came in.

Thank you Victor and team for an amazing store experience. Honestly, the best customer service I’ve had in a very long time. I’ll have to come back to try the running club and purchase more comfy shoes. :)

Despite only two visits to the store, this place quickly felt like a second home. Credit to Victor who welcomed me and patiently weighed in with candor and zero pressure on all my queries. In fact, I stretched my deliberations over a few days and returned to the shop with a better idea of my needs and was greeted as warmly as I was on my initial visit. This is a rare level of customer driven attention and integrity. I will be supporting them online for my future purchases and returning whenever I am back in town. Lastly, the shop is curated to perfection. When I left to read up more about some of the items I saw there — not all mainstream brands — I continuously arrived at the conclusion that they were selling the best items out there from a saturated market. Put simply, this boutique locally run shop in Oakland is channeling the finest running gear out there in terms of style and function. They are leading the way. And they are doing it with a grassroots touch and a smile. See you guys soon!

Their selection of clothes is not vast, but they manage to get a variety of excellent styles which is more than enough to choose from. Their shoe selection is enormous and has a great range. The staff was supportive, helpful, and patient each time I went in. They really want to make the products work for you, not just make a profit. I cannot recommend this place enough!

I went in today to get new running shoes as my old ones were causing some pain and discomfort. Ellis was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answered any questions I had, and I’m really happy with my new running shoes!

Excellent experience. My feet and running needs have changed a lot since my last pair of shoes, so I was expecting it to be hard finding a new pair. But I was listened to and they found the perfect pair on the second try! Amazing place, I look forward to coming back.

We came in from out of town before my long run to get fuel. The owner was so friendly and kind, helped us out quite a bit with recommendations on fuel and where to run. Loved the Sting brand stuff we tried. Wish we could go back to thank him and grab more but we’re heading back to Minnesota. Store was so clean and well laid out, we left super impressed with renegade running!!

Great running store that embodies Oakland. This is not yet another franchise of a national chain -- it's the real thing. An organic, community oriented store, with two founders who love running. Victor is great, very knowledgeable about shoes, materials in shoes, running mechanics, and a lot more. They also host local runs, but unlike a lot of stores, provide a lounge and equipment for runners to use post run. Can't say enough great things about this store, and I've been to almost every running store in the Bay Area. I train year round for marathons.

I'm basically a running noob, and I needed a bit of help addressing some issues I've been having with ankle pain on my casual, 3-4ish mile runs. I felt so welcome and so catered to at Renegade Running! I was helped with a few different pairs to try out and a bunch of super helpful wisdom and insight into how I might go about handling the issues I'd been encountering. I fell head-over-heels in love with the last pair I tried and am SO excited to see how they help me out. I can't possibly recommend this location enough; it was an absolutely perfect and lovely experience!!
