The Painted Pig

Folks, this place is the real deal. My boyfriend and I are visiting Carbondale for a few days and we met a local who recommended this restaurant. I am so grateful we ended up coming! Everything on the menu is seasonal and the menu changes daily (we came 2 days in a row and the menu was different both days).

Today we ordered the butternut squash rings, soup, meatballs, wagyu skewers, and salmon (we clearly eat well) and it did not disappoint! The mulled wine is also delicious! Super highly recommend this place.

You won’t regret the Millefeuille, squash rings, or tender short rib - the painted pig showcases Western Colorado's finest ingredients. A true Carbondale gem with a unique, local ambiance.

Love this place so much!! It’s a great hang spot whether you’re working during the day or meeting with a friend for a drink. Food, ambience and drinks are incredible (bartender is the best!!!!) I highly recommended for everyone, from families to solo travelers.

We just found this restaurant! Excellent service and interesting menu. The shared plates are good sized, we ordered too much but we enjoyed leftovers. The best thing was the wine! The wine list was varied and they sell it at retail! Absolutely worth a visit!

Imagine healthy home cooked meals with local seasonal produce, a classy setting and wonderful friendly service. I read about this place in a magazine and had to try for myself. Everything tastes like it’s been made from scratch with high quality ingredients. If you’re looking for a place for lunch or dinner or just good coffee, don’t miss this gem! Plus they sell adorable flowers - in pots and bouquets. Loved everything about my visit here 💜

I ate here for first time 2 weeks ago. I sat at the bar. The service was excellent. Menu was original. I had the seared radicchio salad with blue cheese dressing and it was fantastic. Main course, I had the lamb which was so flavor. I ate every bite. My cocktail was also refreshing and delightful. Max recommended a glass of red that was perfect with my lamb. I couldn't resist the beignets for dessert. So yum. My only suggestion is a little chocolate dipping sauce. The chef comes from Dunton resort which is uber 5star. We are lucky to have him here. The menu is local. This will be my first choice for dining out now. Bravo to the Painted Pig team.

Such an incredible restaurant!! All around, amazing friendly and attentive service that I haven’t experienced since the days before COVID!! From the host, to server, to sommelier and even the head chef came out to talk to our 7 year old about the science of the flavors and locally grown foods. And wow - the flavors were incredible! We can’t wait to come back in other growing seasons. If you are in Carbondale and looking for a food experience you won’t regret, check this place out!!

The food was incredible! It’s nice having something completely different in the valley. The atmosphere is pleasing warm and cozy. The staff is excellent and very knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Overall an excellent dining experience we will definitely be going back!

Great restaurant - the food, drinks, and service all very on point. The night we were there the menu leaned very farm to table but they had a lot of shareable smaller plates so I really liked being to order things like you would at a tapas place. Glad to see this restaurant in Carbondale and look forward to trying it again!

I’ve been here a few times during the day for coffee, which was spectacular but we went for dinner last night for the first time. We live in Carbondale and had just left a horrible experience at another local restaurant and immediately upon entering painted pig that changed. We were greeted by a welcoming, friendly hostess who gave us some recommendations on what to eat. We were seated immediately and greeted by our server who helped explained how the menu works. She also helped balance out some of our order. We ordered two mock tails, they were tasty and well balanced. We ordered the squash rings, chicken skewers, carrots, polenta, meatballs, confit potatoes, burger, and squash donuts for dessert. Not only were ALL the dishes delicious, the were extremely creative and perfectly executed. The squash rings, skewers, burger and meatballs were the standouts for us but everything was delicious. Carbondale has needed a restaurant like this and you deserve to try them out. You can make reservations (another plus in Carbondale) we happened to see they had an opening at the time we were just walking in so we took our chances. Not only did they meet our expectations, they exceeded it. We will be back, probably more frequently than we planned! Well done painted pig and welcome to the neighborhood!

I stayed in one of the suites above the Painted Pig for a week, and absolutely loved it. Super comfortable room with tons of amenities, not to mention you get to walk right downstairs for food and coffee whenever you need! Kade was a great host - make sure to order one of his flat whites 🤟🏻

I've gone to The Painted Pig twice... both great experiences! I got a latte and empanada and it was delicious. Great service and vibes. Also a perfect dinner spot - great for date night! :)

Amazing food and wine in a laid back upscale atmosphere.. what more could you ask for? Lucky enough to try it on Peruvian night. Highly recommend the duck. Went back in the morning for coffee and pancakes. Loved it all!

This place is a gem. The food is local/ seasonal with lots of vegetarian options. The staff are incredibly friendly, and with the homey vibe, you feel like you’re in a friend’s dining room.

Finally great coffee in Carbondale! This place is serving up Color Roasters with a full cafe menu. Great breakfast snacks too.

Great addition to Carbondale! The food was amazing: dinner was unique but approachable. Such a comfortable setting and the staff is amazing!
