The Tipsy Trout

Great $19 fish tacos with black beans, but requires using knife and fork because single flour tortillas break apart. Excellent generous portion 3 pieces of batter fried fish and chips for $23. Very good burger. Nice atmosphere. Good service for our large party of 10 on a Friday night. Fair prices if you think of it as resort pricing.

Stopped here for lunch with my 1 1/2 year old while the hubs was fishing. I had the fish tacos...delicious... and a grilled cheese for the little one! Great atmosphere, great food and our server Christina was spectacular!

The Trout dish is Amazing….forgot the pics…next time. Short Rib Sammy was amazing for C biscuit as well! Ice cold drafts on the back porch overlooking the Frying Pan river. Must do in Basalt!

09/02/2023: This was our 2nd visit. We adore this restaurant. We love sitting outside by the river and enjoying the beautiful scenery. The staff is personable and welcoming, and they are attentive to your needs.

I had the cheeseburger and fries. It was a nice size, juicy burger with ample fries, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Hubby had the BLAT - bacon, lettuce, avocado, and tomato - with sweet potato fries. He said that the sandwich was tasty and satisfying.

If you find yourself in the Basalt, CO area, drop in to The Tipsy Trout. It's a great local hangout!

Had to take a business trip. While in town my associate and my self stop here for dine in. We sat outside to enjoy the beautiful day. Had an amazing view and people here all the way were very friendly. I ordered the elk burger which was cooked to perfection as I asked. My associate ordered the fish and chips. Cooked to golden brown so juicy and the fish melted in your mouth. Had a great experience here. Would recommend anyone passing through or living in town.

We eat here frequently when the weather permits outside dining. Great food, great service and enjoying a meal by the river is the best! Highly recommend the short rib sandwich!

This was a nice, peaceful creekside stop while galavanting through the mountains. I was shocked at how delicious the elk burger was, and the truffle fries were unbelievable. Holly was a very attentive and down to earth server. I would recommend this place highly!!

Great little spot by the river in Basalt. The food was quite delicious and service was great! They had great plant based options too! The ambiance outside is perfect for the views and the sounds of the river. Highly recommend.

Good GF options, big portions, good quality food and service. Fish tacos are excellent, and large, you only need two, but get three. Location phenomenal, will be back! If anything could be improved, needs some very local craft beer selections. Something from the area, preferably.

It is called the Tipsy Trout. That alone is worth an extra star. The Elk Buger was top notch. However, I personally think they could greatly improve the fish Tacos. The coleslaw was weak. Frank's Sweet Asian Hot Sauce, mixed with some mayo and sour cream would take the coleslaw to another level. And... why not use some Ruby Trout sautéed in a "Frying Pan" to play on your location??

They have delicious food at reasonable prices. Their elk burger, truffle fries, and the trout dip was SO good. The staff was fantastic and patient with us as we ordered. 100% would recommend and will definitely go back again when in the area.

Sat at the bar, the bar tender was very attentive and had drinks and a delicious brunch out to us quickly. Enjoyed a beer on the patio overlooking the river before we left, will definitely be back!

I always stop here when I'm in town. Great local spot! Excellent food and service!

Great service and casual place right on the river. Great double sided bar that is open to the outside in the summer. We visited multiple times during our time in Aspen! Great place.
