A self-proclaimed kicked-up BBQ joint, Wexler's does indeed offer some tasty grilled-meat meals. While prices also come at a bit of premium, don't let the cost deter you; the food is very good. A special call-out goes to the "Scotch eggs", which are too fancy to be real Scotch eggs according to my British friends but extraordinarily delicious. Also consistently excellent is the chef's pork plate, which despite being a day-to-day mystery, is guaranteed to be good. The cocktails prepared by the bar are similarly tasty, and the restaurant decor is minimalist, clean, and modern. All-in-all, highly recommended for a hearty meal and well-crafted drinks.

I wouldn't describe Wexler's as a BBQ place -its more of a fancified, gentrified, BBQ-themed place. The decor is super cool and eclectic; drinks at the bar are also fancified and gentrifed - very labor-intensive. The scotch eggs were the best thing on the menu and definitely get the banana cream pie - soooooo good!

Tip - its a very small place so don't come with too many people and reservations a must!

Double smoked pork chop and a smoked manhattan.

Enough said.

The pork chop was a special...it was awesome. I sat at the bar, was in town for business, the bartender was a good dude.

I'd go back for sure.

Trendy decor and a foodie spin on BBQ. I have to say the scotch eggs were better than any in Britain.

It's a gourmet sandwich shop. We got the lamb and the beef BBQ sandwiches - both were very good (not the best sandwiches I've ever had - even Ike's are better). The cabbage salad was so sour that it was hard to eat and hurt my stomach for the rest of the day.
With only 1 customer in front of us when we came in, and plenty of empty tables, it took us a 1/2 hr to be seated. We didn't get any appetizers or deserts since it was 1 1/2 hrs just to get and eat a sandwich. Even though this place is right in the middle of the business district, not a place we could go back to again for lunch as it is way too slow service.

Went here for a late dinner date. While it wasn't our first choice, it was still an enjoyable experience. The waitress was a tad all over the place for a slower than usual night but I still enjoyed my cocktails and dinner. What I think is pretty darn awesome is the decor. I can't get over the large liner on the ceiling. Beautifully done and I will be sure to revisit soon.

Pro:
Scotched Eggs
BBQ short ribs with creamy mashed potatoes
DESSERT- Bourbon banana cream pie and inside out root beer float

CON:
Small
Loud

I love LOVE love their scotched eggs! I have never tried anything like it. I savored every bite of it. The chili sauce and sweet honey sauce was excellent and went well with the egg. I would definitely come back for this!

For my entree, I had the BBQ short ribs with mashed potatoes and tomatoes. The short ribs were soft, chewy and jam packed with flavor. The mashed potatoes were light and fluffy and went along with it short ribs.

Onto the dessert, I was already looking forward to this part when I was looking at the menu online prior to my visit. Come on, who can resist bourbon banana cream pie and an inside out root beer float? First, the root beer float, it consists of vanilla soda with Humphrey Slocomb root beer ice cream topped with whip cream and two drunken cherries. Be warned, those drunken cherries are NO joke. This was amazing and I could have this everyday! The banana cream pie was light and fluffy. I loved the Dulce DE leche drizzle all over the pie. Right amount of banana and its a pretty big slice.

My two other friends ordered the plate of pork (which changes) and the salmon. The salmon was the healthiest and it was over beans. It was typical, nothing special. The plate of pork featured a special green puree (totally forgot what it was), several pieces of pork lion and a humongous piece of pork belly. This dish was the most flavorful and the most protein compared to the other dishes.

I came here another time for lunch and one of their sandwiches. It was delicious and service is impeccable.

If you haven't tried this place, I highly recommend it!

Great Scottish eggs! They even have a pork plate special every night. Tonight it was a pork chop with grits, kale and shrimp. Delicious!
Don't forget to try their dessert too. They make a mean s'mores pie.

I had a business lunch here at Wexler's. I was pretty hungry, so I got the brisket sandwhich, which was fantastic. It's not your typical bbq joint with peanut shells on the floor -- it does fit in with the financial district crowd. It was well lit and extremely clean. Our waiter was friendly.

I think my sandwich was ~$12, so it was pricey for a bbq joint.

The food was very good, really no complaints. Even the little one ate some salmon (not usually a fish eater) and liked it. The short ribs were also quick tasty.

Upscale barbeque. I happen to love the decor and it works for a casual or date night out--can't say that about much BBQ
