Zack's Hot Dogs

Friendly service, super fast in taking our order and getting out our food. Had a bacon cheese hotdog and a hamburger... both we're excellent. Back in town next week to give them another try. I think Zack's is a great value for your money.

Very good place to eat with really good service. My second time here both very memorable. I had a hot dog and hamburger with fries, all delicious. Don’t forget to try the zack sauce, it’s hot and spicy yummy! We’ll be back again!

Omg the best hot dogs EVER!!!! When my boyfriend told me he was gonna bring me here when I went to NC for the first time boy was I unprepared... do this for me y’all... get two dogs. Do NOT settle for just one lol We need y’all to come down to TX!!!! But trust me, I will be back for more when I’m back in town!

We loved it! The people are super friendly and for $10 - 2 hot dogs with cheese, fries & a drink - you can’t go wrong. Love the old diner feel too.

Good hotdogs and great staff!

What a discovery! Definitely not the healthiest place to eat but it was delicious. Boys had hot dogs with cheese fries, and we had bacon chili cheeseburgers with chili cheese fries. We had to wait a few minutes for a table but service is fast. Very much a diner and everyone was hustling.

Under new ownership. I'm not taking sides on the current hot dog beef going on in this area because of this new update. I will support the original establishment, because I'm going for the nostalgia of going zacks with family and friends. That being said, the only thing I can see different at the old site, is it is no longer cash only which isn't a bad thing at all. Same great food and atmosphere as before at this location.

Zacks sauce! Since 1928 this has been the spot to go for great dogs & burgers! One of the few places I make date plans with my GF to go too. *this is a cash only establishment, however there is an ATM on site. But charges are high. Only complaint, but I bring cash so it doesn't effect me or my rating of this great place! An icon of Burlington, NC!

Zacks is one of the best hot dog places I know. I love their chili dogs and usually get two southern style with chili, slaw, onion and mustard. My wife and I stop here any time we can on our way from Cary, NC. French fries are thick and good. Sweet tea is among the best.

My parents took me to Zack's when I was a child, my mother went when she was a child. Now when I go up to visit family it is a must have at some point. I highly recommend the cheese dog with heavy chili and light onions.

The chili is great but the cheese dog is done right. There is no hot dog, just a stick of cheese in a bun covered with chili. Heavy chili means you can dip your fries in your cheese dog or to help sop up what falls out. The Cheerwine and Coke comes in bottles. My aunt always get a hamburger and those are apparently good as well.

I have never had bad service here. All the servers check tables and are friendly.

A Burlington staple I highly recommend it. Just bring cash as they are still cash only.

Two chili cheese dogs "all the way", fries, and a bottled Cheerwine.

First of all, this place is cash only, so be prepared. Also prepare yourself for the chili dog. I typically don't like onions on mine, but I decided to go "all the way" with slaw, onions, cheese, and chili. The slaw cuts the onions well and I barely had any onion aftertaste. The dog and bun were plump and soft respectively, but how they should be, and the chili is perfectly simmered and runs over the dog just right. A dab of the secret hot sauce gives it a nice kick of peppers if you're looking for that. The fries were fried just right, but otherwise nothing special. The bottled drinks really complete the experience.

Burlington should be proud of this place. You don't see this kind of place around much anymore and there's a reason why this one is still standing.

Hubs is from Burlington & grew up loving Zacks hot dogs. We stop in every chance when going through Burlington & they never disappoint us. Simple & yummy food.

Hotdogs and breakfast sandwiches made and served with great care. Friendly staffs and seems to be popular among elderly local residents.

I'm 73 and my wife is younger. I am a Southerner. I was craving a hot dog or two so this is my favorite local place. Our grandsons were very impressed by Zacks on their first trip 2 years ago . They loved sitting at the counter and drinking the small Cokes.They are now 6 and 8. It was quite chilly(no pun) today and drab. On Saturday midday there is a ton of parking near Zacks. Place was 3/4 full. This wonderful smell hits you as you open the door.
Waiter was at our booth in 15 seconds and food was at our table in 30 more seconds. No kidding. It is a great experience in many ways.

My grandmother grew up in Burlington during the 1950s eating at Zach’s and she brought there all the time as a child. I make a point to stop by the original location whenever I’m nearby. The food and atmosphere is just as good as I remember it as a child!

Great dogs! The lore of Zacks travels far and when I was finally in the area I had to try one, or four 😁. Did not disappoint! Nice texture to the dog with good toppings to accommodate the flavor.

I have been to the downtown Zacks several times and the dogs and chili are as good as ever. The service was fantastic.

A downtown Burlington staple, it hasn't changed since I ate here decades ago. The food is made fresh, and the bottled drinks add that old school feel to your meal. The bacon dog with chili, slaw, onions, and mustard is my favorite.
