The Caffè by Mr. Espresso

Had the pleasure of visiting The Caffè by Mr. Espresso in downtown Oakland yesterday ☕😎👍 A contemporary cafe inspired by the time-honored coffee culture of Italy! The atmosphere was inviting, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air. The selection of coffee was impressive, and the pastries were delightful. I especially enjoyed the cannoli; it was the perfect blend of creamy filling and crisp pastry shell. I will definitely be back for more coffee and another taste of those delicious cannoli! 🌟

Very good coffee and knowledgeable staff. Recommended.

Update:
I think their regular drip is much better than the many pour overs I have had. Absolutely great coffee.
I also loved their extra strong filter coffee, sugo, which is in-between filter coffee and espresso.

The Cafe is very well executed and designed coffee shop. The owner takes no compromises in the quality or value of food. The staff is amazing, even if there is a line it moves super fast. Everything is clean and Arlon's latter art is just beautiful. All bread and some of their desserts are made in house. The best place around if you are looking for a decent cup of coffee.

Beautifully designed coffee shop in the middle of downtown Oakland. Got a cappuccino and a butterscotch latte, both good. The store is laid out to primarily accommodate standing instead of sitting, but there are 6 chairs at the back and a few stools at the front if standing up at one of the several bars along the walls isn't your thing.

PS to the owners: if y'all decide to print the rhombus shaped hand-and-cup logo on a t-shirt, I would wear it :)

There are plenty of coffee shops to consider in the bay area but this one is still a standout.

First the shop itself is beautiful, bright, modern, and clean. It's a great spot to sit and drink or work from but there aren't a lot of seats.

I tried their cold brew and latte and they were both delicious. The coffee was impeccably smooth, full of flavor, and just delightful to drink. A solid choice for coffee if you're in the area!

The staff was friendly and upbeat. The gentleman who helped me was very knowledgeable about the pastries and gave me a background about the chef and the San Francisco location. My sweet cream ice coffee was lovely and buttery. Definitely recommend this place if you want a pick me up!

I got the Butterscotch Latte and almond croissant and really liked both. I can’t wait to try the cold brew and cream on my next visit. Jeannette (?) was super nice!

My current fav drink is the Orange Creamsicle. 😋😋😋 Also! Their housemade ricotta is delish!

Cozy cafe in downtown Oakland. We tried Cannoli, hot latte and Americano. Overall atmosphere and taste were great.

Their butterscotch latte is so good! And the crew are wonderful and friendly. Highly recommend this place for those who love great coffee.

Did you know that Mr. Espresso has been roasting their beans over oakwood in Oakland for over 45 years and they've never opened a cafe until now? I was so excited to try The Caffe, which highlights their italian-style espresso with a modern aesthetic.

Snacks, pastries, and sandwiches are available and made all in-house along with all of their coffee accompaniments. And ricotta!

I had to try the orange creamsicle cold brew, which is a seasonal item, because I love orange and coffee so much. Love the candied orange strip placed on top of the foam, and there is tons of tasty orange zest in the drink doing its job of infusing the vanilla bean syrup. Really delicious summer treat.

Next time, though, I need to try just a basic espresso from their cafe roast line or their creamy sugo shots!

I don't drink much coffee these days. Mostly matcha. They source from Asha. Their coffee is very good, and with the gloomy weather, I've opted for it more often than not. They collaborate with local chefs for specials. The raspberry white chocolate mocha was my favorite limited edition drink.

My favorite coffee in the East Bay! Their shakerato is my go-to. The quality of this place is insane. The flavor is so smooth and each drink is made with so much precision and care.

Had an espresso and a cappuccino. Both were excellent! Smooth on both. Not the overly acidic served by others but more round and rich. Pastries from The French Spot-SF! Amazing! Great staff and vibe as well!

I love the coffee here. Their custom drinks are fantastic (homemade butterscotch, yes please!) and their basics are truly top notch. So far I’ve had their drip, lattes, and americanos. One of the top coffee spots downtown if not Oakland/Bay at large. Plus they stay open till later in the afternoon where some of the other local spots close by 1.

They also offer baked items and snacks that look decadent I haven’t tried them yet.

Staff are consistently friendly and helpful if you have questions.

So glad we have this great spot now.

Really amazing latte with smooth, medium to light espresso. Perfect shots with no acidity. Really lovely staff and concept, I'm already a regular.

Was in Oakland for the week for work, and this place quickly became my everyday coffee spot. Really cool atmosphere, butterscotch latte was amazing, and the girl behind the counter remembered my name and order after only one visit! 🤯 Highly recommend!

Fantastic coffee in a beautiful space. The folks who work here are all SUPER friendly; great vibes all around!
