This place is a gem! We spent a perfect Sunday afternoon jammin out to Tammy's picks and scoring a deal on a War double LP. I imagine discovering many bands and singers new to me as this place is a vintage store. We'll be back soon.

If you're into vinyl, then San Francisco has a hidden gem that you absolutely must visit: Grooves: the best vinyl store in San Francisco! This place has everything you could ever want when it comes to vinyl, from brand new releases to rare finds that you won't find anywhere else.

The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and they always make you feel welcome. They really know their stuff and are always happy to help you find what you're looking for.

One of my favorite things about this place is their selection. They have a great mix of new and old records, so whether you're looking for the latest release or a classic album, you're sure to find it here. And if they don't have what you're looking for, they're happy to order it for you.

Overall, I can't recommend this place enough. Whether you're a die-hard vinyl collector or just starting to explore the world of records, the best vinyl store in San Francisco is definitely worth a visit. So what are you waiting for? Head on over and check it out - you won't be disappointed!

Great selection of records to discover; staff was really friendly and let me give some records a listen on the turntable before purchasing

Pricing is fair and selection is good. Condition of the used vinyl was excellent.

I was remarking to my companion while we were flipping through the new arrivals bins, you could grab any record in there at random, put it on the turntable, and probably hear something interesting. Always a good sign when a shop carries a lot of stuff you've never seen before. Stock runs the stylistic gamut, including the biggest section of comedy LPs I've seen at any shop, and is well organized and priced to sell. The proprietor was non solicitous and pleasant to interact with. A super fun digging experience! (As a bonus, there's a very impressive selection of vintage metal lunchboxes on display.)

Huge selection of eclectic vinyls. Soundtracks, rock, oldies, 50's-60's-70's-80's, modern music, world music, comedy, children, obscure, you name it. Prices are nice. Definitely needs digging and visiting. And small local business, right in the middle of Market st.

Great record store specializing in 20+ year old records. Newest stuff is local bands only. Lots of old jazz, soundtracks, comedy. Hot items come and go quick, very reasonable prices. Great talk with staff, who was more than helpful and played a couple records for me.

I love this little record store, the guy who works at the front counter is incredibly friendly and knowledgable. They always have some really great tunes playing when you walk in. Prices are good, and I've found all kinds of treasures over the years.

Owner of the store, may he rest in peace, was a special person. If you were lucky enough to meet him, you'll never forget him. A lot of what is being sold currently, I"m told was his large personal collection. When you say support small businesses, this one to support. A small neighborhood record store, is really something specia.

Best record store in the city period. Kelly is
the real deal...his knowledge of recorded sound
is profound, and he can dance just as good as he wants.
R.I.P. Ray...I miss ya man!

Interesting and wide ranging used vinyl stock. Well worth a visit. Some original posters and hand bills from the SF 60s/70s golden years too.

One day I will visit this store again. I was there in the 90s, on the way to DLX (a skateboard store) and killed some time in here. I found - at a crazy cheap price- I'd been looking for 20 years. The silent running soundtrack from the 1970s. I sincerely hope this store is still there when I make it back

Fantastic. Potentially wallet endangering. Awesome records in stock, and the guy behind the counter knows who Tony Harrison is, so that's cool too. One of the places on the Must Go Back To list.

I never get a headache here like I do at Amoeba. And the selection is remarkably diverse. I've found all sorts of things, from Chaucer in Middle English to Harry Partch in, uh, whatever. It's kind of dangerous to be in Grooves with an ATM card; consider just bringing as much cash as you can afford to spend.
