Ponzu Sushi and Grill

Kate our server was amazing- sushi menu was extensive plus many other items. We choose Coco Loco Shrimp Roll, Godzilla Roll & Calmari Roll with a side of white rice. Food was served quickly for being made to order freshly. Kate checked back with us several times. We will save room for dessert next time.

Amazing food but the front of house service could definitely use some help.
We were not even acknowledged when we came into the restaurant... The hostess couldn't be bothered to stop looking at his phone.

Had the Cilantro ponzu hamachi wow! Coco loco..had to order a second of that, black pepper calamari and spicy sake..yum!!!

We got edamame, 2 rolls each and cookie dough rangoons and everything was super delicious and affordable with their lunch special! This has been my favorite sushi place for a while and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great place for date night or parties of 12 or more. Very clean, comfortable and modern. Check out entire menu, many offerings other than sushi. Friend had baked salmon & said it was delicious. Never had a bad meal at Ponzu and my wife really likes their specialty cocktails. Every restaurant owned and operated by the DiPrima Family is a solid choice. Jimi D's in Aksarben Village and Jackson Street Tavern in the Old Market are awesome as well. Enjoy!

After taking in a movie, it was time for a post-dinner time, pre-bedtime snack and sushi at Ponzu did the trick. Service was quick, the food hit the spot and the price was what you would expect in Aksarben -- not inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. I believe the pics are of the Tsunami roll and the Crunchy Cali. We go here at least once every couple weeks, and we will keep coming back.

I've had great experiences with the best sushi here however there are bartenders that make the worst martinis I've ever tasted in my life that makes me rethink five stars. Happy hour is a good time to go to

What an amazing happy hour, complete with a great variety of affordable food and drinks! The service was fast and efficient, and our server Billy was friendly, patient, and attentive. He took his time to answer all of our questions, never making us feel rushed. Super nice guy. Delicious sushi. We will be back!

Very inexpensive sushi that had a lot of nice qualities. Some of my favorite stuff was included in the roles we had such as cream cheese avocado and a variety of fish and sauces to accentuate the flavor. One thing I was looking at is how spicy the wasabi is. Bad sushi usually has very mild wasabi. This wasabi was quite flavorful and spicy. It is perfectly paired with sushi. my whole family enjoyed the atmosphere and the restaurant. Our two orders of sushi cost about as much as two value meals at McDonald's.

Happy hour is between 3-6 Monday to Friday and Friday and Saturday include 9-11

The pricing for that is extremely attractive with sushi rolls going for 5 or 8 dollars.

The godzilla was a surprise favorite. I'm not often a fan of deep fried rolls, but this one maintained it's crunchiness quite well. I found myself going back for it. 5 stars

The menu features a lot of spicy sauce or cream cheese. I'm a bit more of a purist and prefer cleaner rolls, so we tried the orange Daisy. They arrange it like a flower. It would be my number 2 pick. 4.5 stars

The red dragon was pretty average. 3.5 stars
As was the unagi maki.

The opah cabana garnered a 5 star from me. It was my favorite out of the rolls we ordered.

Felt in love with their sushi. We went for our new year eve dinner and they were too busy but they did not rush on our orders and gave us enough time in explaining and letting us pick the right sushi. Their flamethrower and dynamite sushis were so good. Appetizers and cocktails are also very good. For my wife, they prepared non-alcoholic virgin mojito and she loved it. Will go again.

We typically order takeout from here. Service is always prompt. Food is very good as well. The atmosphere is light and airy, definitely a good spot for sushi or if you're just in the area.

Although the most land-locked state in the US, I was craving sushi. Ponzu delivered exactly what I thought they could. The flavors were wonderful, but the textures of the fish felt like they were frozen and thawed. Still delicious.

This place is great! Visited from out of town, the Orange Daisy roll was dope AF and the drinks are well priced. Will plan on returning when I'm back in Omaha!

Absolutely on my top 4 for sushi places in town. I go there just for sushi and have not tried other dishes. Bright seating and great patio space in summer. My favorite specialty rolls are Dynamite, Godzilla, calemari, snd super unagi.

It was delicious and the flavors were new and different from most places. Having cilantro in sushi was something new! Great service and great food. We will come back!

Not a sushi fan here, but when the coworkers want to go out you have to find something on the menu you like. I was so happy to find not only a beef fried rice on the menu but a cheeseburger and fries! This was a very juicy and well dressed burger with ample portion of fries that were delicious! I am so glad I went out for lunch today and this sushi restaurant will be in our working lunch rotation!

Service was good and the staff was friendly. We went there for a dinner on a Sunday evening and the atmosphere was ok. Don't want to make a big deal about it because it was Sunday evening. Appetizer was good and sushi was good, but I wasn't especially impressed by anything in particular. I was a little grumpy when I arrived (maybe hangry) so I would have expected the food to knock my socks off. I would go back if I were in the area or planning a night out with friends for sushi, but won't make a special trip otherwise. Nothing to complain about and they had some unique menu options that would appeal to those who like trying new things.

Good sushi, great happy hour prices! It does get loud inside, so prepare to talk loud!
