Play on The Strand

Our favorite store on the strand, hard to pull the kids from it once we entered. I'm glad there are toys they can play with and the shopkeeper is very helpful and patient. We nerded out about pinball a little bit. I couldnt get the hi score on Jurassic Park pinball but at least scored some free games.

This was one of the best toy stores I've ever been to. It has unique, interesting, cool and curious toys, games and more. The store itself is laid out well and the customer service from the owner and staff is one of the best. For someone who values customer experience, this was top notch. They even have excellent mask requirements and convenient sanitation. We ended up picking up an inflatable air fort and a few other games. You could literally spend over an hour in here just browsing around looking at the cool and interesting selection. They even have toys you can try out or play with. If you're lucky enough you can use the ring on the string and see if it can catch on the hook. I did! You won't find stuff in here that you would at most toy stores. This is a definite must visit and see if you are in Galveston! You won't be disappointed!

This is your classic old school toy store where kids are let to have fun. They're encouraged to play with toys. The owner is the sweetest gentleman.

Not only is this a fun stop to cool off, it's a great way to bond with your children through play. So much fun! We scored some sweet toys too!

This store had some awesome stuff, didn't take many photos was too busy playing with the toys. Prices were also reasonable. Will be going back, much many things I want.

So much fun inside! All kinds of toys and stuffed animals. Retro toys. New age toys. A few Video games in the back. The Simpsons arcade game brought back my childhood. Must visit place! We also found Bigfoot 😆

I wandered in here with 2 kids, my wife and a friend. We saw some cool stuff but the coolest thing was an employee, Cynthia. She was so willing to help us when we asked if there was a bike pump we could borrow to pump up our stroller tire. She was great with kids and just a pleasure in general. Will definitely come back!

This toy store is amazing! The owner was so nice and they have wonderful stuff at a great price. I haven’t let my little ones really play with toys at the toy store since COVID-19 but I noticed they cleaned off every toy other children touch as well as when my son and daughter played with a toy. The owner also suggested I buy a different nail polish for my daughter that was more suitable for her age even thought it was much cheap. Just good honest people. 🥰. We were visiting from Austin and can’t wait to visit this little gem again.

We just have to say that we absolutely love everything about this toy store! Every time we make a trip down to Galveston we make it a point to stop here and say hello to the owner and to check out all the great toys. When you step inside and he greats you and your children you automatically get swept back to your childhood. This is what a toy store should be all about. Even though we can only come down 1 or 2 times a year the owner still remembers who we are. He even gives great recommendations on toys our son would like for his age range. And he is always spot on! That’s what is missing from the “big box” stores. It’s that home town feeling. The kids get to explore the shop and even test out/play with toys before you even buy them. They also have a few arcade games that you can play. Being a doctor who fan I love the classic pinball game he has and my wife always hold on to a few quarters for when we come here so I can play a few games. So if you’re looking for a good wholesome toy store to get great long lasting toys for your kids or you are a big kid at heart this is the place to come to! If I could give more then 5 stars I would in a heart beat!

We really enjoyed our first visit to Play on the Strand today! All of the toys were so much fun to look through, and they had an amazing and extensive collection. I especially enjoyed the huge fidget selection. We will definitely be back next time we visit The Strand!

This store is MAGICAL! The selection is unique and the staff is wonderful. We make an effort to stop here every time we are on the island. If you are walking the strand with your kids, it's a must see. My husband loves to play the arcade ganes while the kids and I look at all the toys, which range from vintage to modern. I always feel like a kid again when I walk in this place!

We stumbled upon this place while browsing and was pleasantly surprised by the amount and breadth of toy selections in the store. The staff were so friendly and helpful! We bought a few things for gifts and they were happily received. I wish we were closer to the area, but will definitely make this store on our list of places to visit when we go to Galveston/Strand area.

The owner of this store is so nice and personable. Had a great time looking around as well as playing with some of the toys. They have cool arcade games in the back that you can play too! Such a great place to buy gifts and explore. Also great for teachers needing sensory items and fidget toys. Would highly recommend!!!

This little shop is an amazing place to have stumbled across. They have all sorts of toys, puzzles, games etc. Best of all if you are looking for gifts (for both young and old) which do not require a computer, X-Box, etc this shop should absolutely be on your list of places to go.

The owner and the staff are super nice, friendly, and knowledgeable about their products. They are the type of folks that make you want to come back.

The only negative I could think of is that the area in general (not just this store) are not very wheelchair friendly. If you have mobility challenges shopping from their store via the online portal may be a better option.

This store is really cool! I took my 10 year old grandson in there and he went nuts ! He was so excited and impressed with everything they had. They have the unusual stuff not just your everyday junk. They have samples of the toys out so you can actually touch and experience the toy. I really liked that. They also have great customer service. The workers see you looking at something and they jump right up and show you how it works. We will definitely be going back. My grandson says it’s his Favorite store!!!

Very welcoming. Kids are encouraged to try toys that are out. Great fun.
