Laika Cheesecake & Espresso

If you haven't been to Laika, you are missing out on a true gem in San Antonio! First, I'll talk about the service. These guys were full of hospitality and smiles. As soon as we walked in the door, we felt like family. The staff knows everything about all of the items they sell and took the time to explain and describe the different cheesecakes. This is a cozy place, so there isn't much room to sit, but it's like a typical European shop... small and cozy. The cheesecake was absolutely delicious, and their coffee options were nice, too. They offer a variety of drinks to satisfy your caffeine fix.

Laika in San Antonio is a total game-changer! Their cheesecakes are out of this world, just like their name suggests.
I was particularly blown away by the Strawberry Fields Forever cheesecake. The combination of the creamy cheesecake with the sweet strawberry flavor and that pistachio kick was incredible. And the Space Jam cheesecake? Wow! It was a delicious adventure in every bite.
But Laika isn't just about the amazing cheesecakes. Their Spicy Cuban Coffee is the perfect complement. It packs a punch of sweet and spicy that perfectly balances the richness of the cheesecake. It's a taste sensation!
Laika is a must-try for any dessert lover in San Antonio. They offer a truly unique and delicious experience!

In all seriousness though, this place is great. They’ve got excellent cheesecake and they make everything in house. I didn’t get coffee when I dropped in but they had a huge espresso machine and seeing as how great the cheesecake was I’m sad I didn’t get coffee on the way out. Friendly staff. Highly recommend 10/10!

Loved this place! I got a Spicy Cuban coffee (which has a pinch of paprika) and it was delicious! The cheesecakes are beyond good! I just wish you could eat them there.

Come early or preorder, y’all. This place is incredible. The Picnic in Space is a combination of lemon blueberry and is my favorite of these four. The classic cheesecake was good. The carrot cake was fantastic! It has an apple layer to it. The Milky Way buffet is a chocolate lovers dream with a mix of milk and dark chocolate. It’s just what you need for that craving.

The "space jam" (honey, blueberry, & lemon) cheesecake is a delicious addition to their coffee! Great atmosphere! :)
Staff was very friendly and offered recommendations.

First of all, I just want to commend the friendliness of the crew. They greet you from the moment you walk in. The desserts looked and tasted really good, although I thought the price point was pretty high. We just tried Red Ribbon, and their cakes are comparable in taste at half the price. The location is also smaller than expected, but I think it adds to charm. Unfortunately, if you have any nut allergy, you might be out of luck. The drinks looked and tasted great too.

Excellent cheesecake in a jar. Large variety of cheesecakes. The idea is to buy a few jars and go, rather than eat on the spot. But there is some seating available. Each jar is the right size for a one person dessert. Service was fine.

The tiramisu cheesecake was amazing and the woman who greeted us was friendly and inviting. The space is adorable and I will for sure be back. I wouldn’t order a cappuccino again, next time I’ll just ask what the baristas recommend :)

I’m beyond happy that we get a location on the west side of town!!! Cheesecakes are just as delicious as the home bakery on broadway. Laika never disappoints! Highly recommend! Love how spacious the new location is for dine in option.

I love the cheesecake in a jar to go! It’s just enough to satisfy, but not too much you feel like a glutton. The chocolate mousse was smooth, thick and just right. I had the seasonal gingerbread latte and it wasn’t too spicy or too sweet, but a nice melding of flavors. The location is small with a few counter seats or a few small outdoor tables so plan your trip accordingly.

I always go here with my kids. I myself am not a fan of sweets at all, but I make an exception for Laika. They have the kindest employees and great customer service. Also this is a local store and is Ukrainian so it’s great to support! The cheese cakes are always delicious and the drinks are amazing! If you get tired of flavors they usually have ones.

Great place in San Antonio, definitely worth to visit and try incredibly delicious cheesecakes! All cheesecakes look very appetizing, have interesting flavors and are conveniently packaged.

We tried “Picnic in Space”. It has a very pleasant acidity and berry taste. And it looks very-very tasty. As soon as you buy it, you start eating it with your eyes. Visit this adorable cheesecake/coffee shop and support Ukrainian business!

The cheesecake bites are very rich in flavor and creamy in texture. I tried Space Jam and Cookies & Cream. Yum, till the last crumb.

First time customer!! What a cute little place! First off walking in and being greeted immediately by the wonderful staff was amazing! All the employees were so sweet, educated on the items and super helpful. They are definitely spreading some love and good vibes in here! Love it
So onto the cheesecakes. I got 6 jars and two slices that my family could try. A little on the expensive side but honestly it’s worth the treat.
The 6 jars ordered were Strawberry Fields Forever, Raspberry white chocolate, Tres Leches, Cookies and Cream and Tiramisu. The two slices were Pistachio raspberry and New York cheesecake. My favorite hands down all day long was Tres Leches, gimmie more gimmie more!! So damn good!! My family also really loved the cookies and cream and the pistachio raspberry cheesecake out of the selection we got.
Highly recommend giving them a try!

Their cheese cake tastes really good! I got a jar of mango cheesecake. Instead of cheesecake, I would say it is more like a mousse cake! I do recommend the mango flavor, which is fresh and favorable. This place is cute. I love the decoration especially. The service could be better.

Stop reading this right now and get you some cheesecake. It costs a pretty penny but they are oh so delicious. This is coming from a cheesecake hater! My favorite was the tiramisu and the space jam. The creamiest cheesecake I’ve ever had. If you read this far… what are you doing!?

If you can not tell, I am a huge dessert person! So a lot of what I post will probably be about something sweet…lol…my sister @shimadayosoaun mentioned that maybe I should focus on dessert mainly. Which just might be a good idea….😂😂.…While in San Antonio, I came across this place called Laika cheesecake & espresso @laikacheesecakes. With that type of name, there's an expectation that the cheesecake will be delicious…..so let’s see…..

The Cheesecake Slice: 🧀🎂🍰

I got something called The Picnic in Space….this sounds interesting because I’ve never thought about what a picnic in space would be like or even taste like. This is a homemade crust, with vanilla cheese cake, blueberry jam, with lemon curd and toasted meringue on top. DELICIOUS!!!! I love lemon flavor 🍋🍋 so the tartness mixed with the sweetness from the blueberries 🫐🫐 was a hit for me!! These are large slices, however, if they were not, I would have gotten two…..I mean seriously just look at the pictures, yes, it taste as good as it looks….

The Cheesecake In a Jar:

I got the Raspberry White Chocolate cheesecake, and this was also tasty, but it is similar to your classic cheesecake. If you are a person who isn’t into the mix flavor, then this is certainly for you…I also think these would be pretty cool to have at a party or gathering along with the other flavors.

…….”meh”……I've had better lattes, so I’ll stick with the cheesecakes…..

Overall, I will come back for sure because the Pinic in Space is one of the best cheesecakes I’ve had. I look forward to trying the others. The guy at the counter mentioned the Carrot-Cake Apple….I’m all for trying it…..

My Boyfriend took me here for the first time ? And I fell in love with their idea of enjoying a nice jar of Cheesecake!! It’s different and unique. I love different, and we really enjoyed our time here. Thanks for the beautiful memories 💕

Unfortunately there aren't dairy-free cheesecake options, but I've been told by many friends that the cheesecakes here are amazing. I was informed there was a gluten free cheesecake option. The glass jars are reusable, which is such a great idea. I got a lavender lemonade that was delicious and thankfully not too sweet. I've been told their espresso latte drinks are good too. They don't open till 10am each day so I'm not sure if I'll ever get a chance to return and try their coffee (I'm an early AM coffee drinker). This place is teeny tiny so expect to get your cheesecake to go. You're given a tiny plastic spoon that's incredibly difficult to eat with (from what I observed). There is very limited seating inside and out, and the standing room to wait for your drinks is awkward - I had to do a dance every other minute to get out of someone's way and they weren't even busy. The parking lot is absolutely awful and really long/narrow, so be very cautious pulling in or out of this place. Despite my complaints I really like this place, and think it's really cute. The workers were helpful, patient, and friendly. I'll definitely recommend it to those who love cheesecake. I really hope one day this business gets to move into a bigger spot with earlier hours.
