Roman Exprés Café

What a unique cafe! We picked up drinks and enjoyed the collectibles while we waited. Lots of Pokémon items to browse. The menu has all of the basics with options to customize whatever you’d like.

It's a new café in the area owned and operated by a lovely gentleman named Ryan. We got ourselves a latte and an iced Americano and they did not disappoint. Great flavour and fair prices. The owner is still working on the café setup and there's already great potential. We can't wait for when they start serving espresso martinis!

First time visiting and would definitely recommend very lovely place. I ordered the merry n maple iced and really enjoyed it! Very nice coffee flavor if you appreciate a good coffee! Also bought these super cute tumblers and they also have a large variety of Pokémon cards trinkets and fungo pops! Will be back!! :)

Wanted to try out a new coffee shop and landed here for their soft opening! They're just getting started so it's a little bare but everything is spic-and-span. They let me know that there is more furniture and décor on the way. Besides that, there is big potential here, especially with how good the coffee is. I ordered a hot latté, no syrup added because I wanted to be able to taste the coffee. It was exactly what I wanted! Coffee didn't taste burnt and no residual acidity from the coffee beans. This is quality stuff. The barista was extremely nice and got my latté to me quickly. Will definitely be back. My little brother would love the little Pokemon card shop they have inside, too.

Would highly recommend this coffee shop if you are in the area! The barista who helped me recommended their Cubano Cortadito to me and I was very impressed. If you are looking for good quality, rich coffee this is the place! The staff was also very friendly so I will definitely be coming back!!

Best place to get custom tailored drinks whatever you want! Ryan is very personable and is willing to make whatever drink you want to have. Such a great guy to talk to!

Ryan has a new drink for the holidays right now and the one I got is amazing! It is and extra sweet white chocolate latte with a little bit of strawberry syrup and rose whipped cream! It was amazing!

This was the first coffee shop I ever visited so I was a little anxious, but the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff really helped me out. The sale of trading cards and other merchandise was really interesting and was what brought me there in the first place as I'm a collector myself. I definitely plan to visit again.

Love stopping by on my daily walks. The Capp w oatmilk is creamy and smooth. The owners are 10/10 in friendly service. Someday I'm waiting for a croissant but until that day, I say, go and get your coffee and support local!

Roman Exprés combines the 2 things I love the most- Coffee and TCGs. The coffee is great and they have a great selection of Pokemon and MTG. My favorite one-stop shop!

Excellent spot! Owner was super friendly, place is clean and spacious, the Cubano Cortadito was fantastic, and bought a couple of Magic packs while I was there. If I lived in Des Moines I'd be a regular for sure!

Pleasantly surprised. Deliciously balanced drink with foam design. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Paper cups and only coffee and tea so far, but looks like they are setting up for edible options

Randomly wandered upon this place when I was looking for food around my new office. Coffee and Pokemon are two of my favorite things in the world and Roman Exprés offers exactly that.

This is my new fav coffee shop in Des Moines! The owners are a sweet local couple who are always really friendly. They make my mocha just right! It’s very unique and I love the feel.

Their coffee here is really solid at a really reasonable prices! They've just opened so their selection is growing, but even with what they offer now this is the best coffee I've had downtown. Highly recommend!

We have a new coffeeshop close to the corner of 6th and Locust.!! A precious little couple venturing to open their own business with no franchise.......delicious coffee, just getting started.. Lets back them up and show them we respect their courage!!!! Pastries in one or 2 months.....

The caramel latte with oat milk was very yummy. For all Pokemon lovers, this local place is a must visit. Super friendly owners as well.
