If you want a personal lesson on the banjo, this is the place! With purchase of a banjo, you get a video with lessons, case and accessories and all the help you need in the future.

Thankful I found this shop. My Grandad recently passed and left me the dulcimer he handmade. The lady in the shop looked at pictures to tell as much as she could about caring, maintaining, types of strings, etc... She gave me a lesson which meant the world to me because I can bring life back into Grandad's dulcimer. Now, with some practice, I can make beautiful music and share knowledge with the rest of the family to keep the spirit of the dulcimer alive. It's nice to know there are things in this world that are best taught by word of mouth, clearing your mind, and trusting yourself and the wood.

Loved this shop. Didn't know there were two men in the shop until after I purchased some training material and went to visit other shops. Stopped back for a business card only to find my brother in there with a newly purchased banjo. I was surprised but happy he purchased something he was so interested in. He was behind buying my dulcimer for Christmas a few years ago.

Thank you so much for helping him make that leap. And just because I didn't buy a dulcimer from you this visit doesn't mean I won't in the future. I just need to get some time to learn and then I can upgrade.

A fantastic experience! A store full of hand made instruments that are each a beautiful work of art! And they sound better than they look! Mark is an incredible talent who really wants people to love and enjoy his instruments as much as he clearly does! He took the time to teach me how to use his instrument. I left already able to play Amazing Grace! I will be visiting as much as possible to show how much I have grown with my new Dulcimer!
You must stop by to see and here the art!!

Wonderful place to stop, even if you are not a musician.

Truly enjoyed the purchase of my dulcimer. Mark is a talented musician and his love of his craft is evident in his presentation. He demonstrated the different tonal qualities of the dulcimers they make and helped me choose the one that would suit my taste and how I plan to play. If you stop by, he'll certainly give you a rousing demo. He's a really fun guy and had our granddaughter playing right along with him!

Wow what nice people, taught me a basic banjo in twenty minutes. Who doesn't love a banjo? They also restrung my husband's dulcimer that we bought years ago. And if course, I went home with a beautiful banjo and a good life lesson on trusting myself!

I LOVE my dulcimer! It has opened a whole new world of music for me. Mark and crew are wonderful, and sincerely want you to learn and enjoy the dulcimer. I purchased mine in August. If you visit the shop, pick up their Christmas CD. It is heavenly.

Sorry for the misinformation on my first review, had come up with a picture of a dog in the shop, and mistaken it for woodnstrings in Townsend. I have been to Smoky Mountain and it is a fine shop with an excellent craftsman (and player), Mark Edelman. Mark was the one who turned me on to flat picking, and extending my knowledge. He has always had the time to talk when I have stopped by, even when he has been working on one of his instruments, and maybe play a tune or two for you

Spend some time here for some free dulcimer or banjo lessons. Listen to great music, and learn a little as well. The staff is friendly. The dulcimers are beautifully handcrafted, and the atmosphere is cozy and warm!
