Omg we wished we found out this place earlier, excellent bento 🍱 with affordable price. The only one let us down is the pork bowl, the pork was extremely dry but the rest was good. Highly recommended the sashimi seasonal special, delicious scallops and a lots of crab. Will definitely come back to try more bento and hopefully the pork Katsu will get improved.

Yummy, well-priced selection of ready made Japanese food. Pick from the wide variety of small dishes for a snack or picnic lunch in the Japan Center plaza.

Onigiri rice balls and squid karaage great! Come close to 10am, and some of the crispy items may still be warm from the fryer. Fried Oysters, umai !

Great store to just walk around and look at everything, definitely try out their fresh sushi! Don't forget to ask for condiments when you go to pay.

this is such a great little market close to japan town! there are delicious, well-priced japanese foods, desserts, snacks and more. the staff are also very quick and helpful; i have never had a bad experience whenever i hit this spot. definitely recommend!

Great place to shop for Japanese stuff. Wide selection of Japanese groceries and the line was quick. The place was crowded too so it must be good.

This a great Japanese market in SF's Japantown. They carry foods you're not likely to find in a big chain grocery store. It's clean and conveniently located to public transit and other businesses. The aisles may be narrower than big chain grocery stores. They have to be. Rent is too expensive in SF. They carry a good selection of food items. Produce was more limited, mainly to Asian vegetables. Some are organic.

There is 20% off meat day every month on the 29th. When that day lands on a weekend, the store is at maximum capacity. The aisles ate particularly cramped too because the vast amount of items they have. They also have occasional food taste testings on the weekend. My favorite items from this market are the ready made sushi, sashimi, shabu meat, and Japanese snacks.

Our favorite Japanese market. Has the japanese snacks that cannot be found at other Asian markets. Fully stocked with ready to eat bento options and fresh mochi. Even has vegan/eggless kewpie mayo.

Very clean and well kept store. Staff are very friendly and helpful should you need it. They have hot foods and Sushi options at the front on the store. They have many unique Japanese items that can only be found here on the city. Their Meats, Seafood and Produce are very fresh. They also have a great selection of frozen options as well. I highly recommend that if you need any Japanese unique grocery item to stop by, most likely you will find it here. They have street as well as Garage parking available.

Go early to get what u want and remember they sell there sushi discounted near closing. No day old unless marked. Verity of stuff u won't find at other markets.

Our favorite Japanese market around town. Got some unique and nice goods that are shipped from Japan. Won’t see those anywhere else.

Very robust daikon selection. Abundance of daikons. Daikon is hefty and suitable for self defense against people with pomeranians.

Good selection of traditional Japanese and far eastern foods and snacks.
I found it odd that they did not have any dairy milk on the shelves; there was only soy. Hoping they can get that added to their selection soon.

It pains me to know that all of the times I agonized over the wait for some food to-go from a restaurant, I could have just gotten some sushi to-go here. Perfect for popping in to get a food on the run, but also a decently large grocery store with nice meat, produce and pantry items.

Can't travel because of a pandemic? Come here and walk around! It's the next best thing. The maple wheat cake I got was really tasty. The frozen takoyaki with red bean paste were so-so. The frozen edamame was a good find, though. The Okonomiyaki flour is the best thing ever.

Best market in San Francisco to buy fresh sushi-grade seafood, and Japanese snacks/sauces. Great mushroom section, we buy them all the time (best quality - price around)!!

Huge selection of imported treats and fineries. Their sushi and cold takeout case is wonderful and reasonably priced.
