Oh my goodness, this is the best place to shop for Produce and Fruit near the downtown waterfront neighborhood.

The staff was super friendly and I didn’t have to bag my own food.

The prices are high like the rent, so save up and treat yourself to some exotic dragon fruit or fresh mushrooms 🍄.

The location is primarily for restaurants, so a little improvement in curbside customer loading would make a big impact on ease of access.

Great products with nice people makes this my new favorite place to shop.

Fresh of the fresh produce. Everything from bulk to regular size to purchase. Clean organized facility. Along with amazing friendly staff willing to help. Rare items like pink pineapple, edible flowers, ect. Variety of all kinds of tomatoes colored carrots and so so much more. Definetly resturant quality food.

Specialty Produce delivers to top restaurants all over San Diego, but their warehouse is also open to the public where folks can purchase produce (organic or not), pantry products, meats and cheeses. You can purchase in bulk or not. The experience is fantastic for the customer as they’ve spent a lot of time making their warehouse really accessible to the public. And as their name suggests, you can find many specialty ingredients here.

Amazing market. They have a variety of produce and fruits from different farms. They provide a tour of their facility. They have a 4 huge walk in fridge. They also have a micro greens fridge. It’s worth a visit.

Had a great time on a field trip with my kids! The pink pineapple is delicious.

I love shopping at Specialty Produce!! It is so fun to explore all kinds of fruits, vegetables and other products that are super unique. You can't find most of the product variety that they have in normal grocery stores. The employees are extremely knowledgeable and can direct you to items you are looking for quickly and efficiently! I cannot wait to visit again with my daughter!

This place has huge selection of the freshest ingredients. It can be a little overwhelming at first but you can shop around the warehouse or ask for a produce box. We get one once a week and are usually pretty stoked on the surprise assortment each time. Great ingredient spot for a chef in a restaraunt or just the chef at home.

Interesting store as it’s basically a warehouse but you can shop. Sort of like smart n final but more interesting produce and some imported products

If you want only the highest quality and most exotic selection of produce, this is your best bet in all of San Diego. There are other items for sale besides fresh produce, but the "farmer's market" fridge steals the show. I recently bought Black Beauty figs to make jam with and I can't decide if I'm more upset that they taste THAT different from store-bought (and even home-grown!) mission figs or if I'm more satisfied that at least their price (twice that of the supermarket figs) is well worth it.

If you missed the window to buy a seasonal good from a farmer's market (such as zucchini blossoms), they're also your best bet.

You might cry at how beautiful their selection is but you will almost certainly cry at the prices. They are totally deserved for the excellence, but oy, not a place I can afford to go to more than once a season.

We are so lucky to have a place like Specialty Produce available to us. People make fun of me for talking about them, but I don’t care. It is so worth exploring. Ask anyone there about anything food related. Too much great stuff to list here, not just produce; ice cream… 00 flour…

I've been here twice, before and after COVID. I already find items that I was not even looking for. This is an amazing place to buy produce, great quality and flavor to any dish.

I had searched for taro (luau) leaves in San Diego forever, finally found them at Specialty Produce! I was blown away by the size of their store and the quality and variety of produce! Love the layout, service is great! Very friendly people who actually know their store! Love it!

I cannot believe I've lived here 5 years, but only just went. This is an unbelievable resource for ANY and all produce - no matter how obscure. (Naturally, call first, just in case). I make over 200 recipes from a dozen cuisines - but I was still stumped by some produce items I'd never seen before.

It is a warehouse - but open to the public and has friendly and knowledgeable staff.

I go into specialty on a regular basis to pick up awesome oddities for my restaurant kitchen. I am always greeted by various employees with a smile and offers to help me find anything specific. If I need help the specialty family is more than happy to walk me to any specific item I so desire. Let me tell you, ive worked in various restaurants in the San Diego area and have ALWAYS been completely satisfied with the services rendered from Specialty Produce. They have built a brand reputation that will always proceed itself. Thank you.

Each week I look forward to my visit to Specialty Produce - their produce is fresh, it lasts a lot longer than store-bought. The variety is incredible and they offer an entire area of organic and microgreens. What a wonderful addition to my quest for healthy eating!

Love this place, and they have a good selection of vegan items. It takes a bit to get familiar with how the products are organized, and sometimes items are not in-stock, but it has a great selection of restaurant types of food. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Was there for a workshop with Rational Comb Ovens and Chef Justin was amazing. This product makes cooking more efficient and can be a great time manager. The produce and products the Specialty Produce provides is amazing. Open to the public as well... Great for any cook at any level.

Wow. Just wow. As a chef in San Diego, I don't think there's anywhere else I would want to get my produce from. Consistently great product and a wonderful force in San Diego for the local/sustainable philosophy. Always have a great presence at Farmer's Markets. Can't say enough good things about this place.

A great place to find fresh produce at great prices. Even though they are wholesale, they are open to the public. My favorite part is that you can buy herbs, grains and dried fruit at bulk prices, but non-bulk quantities. For example, you can get 1 sprig of thyme, 2 bay leaves, a handful of quinoa, and 2 cups of unsweetened coconut flakes. No more wasted food!

The staff is very friendly and they can help you find anything you want. They have a Farmer's Market cooler with organic items, a frozen items section (think off season frozen cherries) and regular produce which is of high quality. A lot of San Diego restaurants get their produce from them, so everything is in very high rotation.
