A great place to start your night out or have a casual dinner paired with delicious drinks. Friday nights are busy and id recommend a reservation, although we didn't have one we got lucky and they had a table for two almost ready (5 minute wait). Our server John/Johnny was attentive during our whole visit, able to give us recommendations on the drinks/food and seemed like he genuinely enjoyed his job. The green and red salsas both have great flavor and spice is on the medium side. From the dishes we ordered I would 10/10 recommend the shrimp tacos that have a hot spice level and are mouth watering. The green pozole is also a must try! Order the True Scratch Margarita if you aren't sure on which drink to order (thank me later). Also, sit outside if you want a more intimate setting. I hope you get the chance to visit this little charm soon.

Having lived in Walnut Creek for so long, I’ve seen this site through several different restaurants dating all the way back to Cantina. After the recent closing of El Charro (thankfully) the Bar Camino has opened and it’s outstanding. They have updated the interior and also focused on outdoor seating which always plays well in this area. The food is upscale Mexican and so far, I’ve been here several times plus I’ve had “take out” for a multi family party. The quality is excellent, the service is excellent and I’m so happy to have a great restaurant back in this space. One bit of advice: try not to sit in the main section of the restaurant, as it is exceptionally loud. Try to sit in one of the side areas and it will be a much more enjoyable evening.

This place has changed names/owners multiple times over a couple of decades. The current menu is really good & the staff is super friendly. It can get a little loud with the music (no,we are not too old 🤣) which can make it difficult to chat with your group. If you haven't been there in a while, go back. It's good!

I have a weak spot for elevated Mexican food, and this checks all the boxes. From the excellent atmosphere (two outdoor patios and donkeys everywhere) to the delicious cocktails, I'm a happy patron. Fish tacos were great. Only critique is that the chips were a bit oily.

Some of the best service I've had in quite a while. Victor took very good care of my wife & I and we had an excellent meal.

A quick Saturday recharge pitstop to obey our thirst for beer and guac turned out to be pretty laidback. Janelle took a really good care of us and the guys who brought out the guac were so cool that didn’t even leave the guac at the table without chips. Great job, team! Impressed.
Limited but nice bottled and on tap beer selection will fulfill your expectations.

I love the location next the the bridge by the river and downtown under all the trees. It makes for a great atmosphere, which is elevated by the place itself.

The staff were all very friendly and super helpful and checked on us whenever we needed something.

The drinks were great and the chips and guacamole were the best I’ve ever had. Yes. That’s a very bold statement, but it’s true. Was not expecting it.

The main courses were pretty good. I had the texmex dish which was okay and my wife had the quesabrria which she liked a lot. Definitely gonna go back and check out again.

My friends and I had such a great time. The food was delicious. & the service was great! Our server Arlette was so attentive and ensured we had everything we needed. She had such great energy! We asked for her to join our group pic. Definitely going back!!

I went here with a group of girlfriends and the margaritas and guac were just what we were hoping for a girls night. The aesthetic of this restaurant is so cute from outside to in. Cactuses and neon, bold paint colors and artwork. It’s waiting to be photographed.

I ordered the mango shrimp salad and it was huge! I thought it was going to be small, so I added arugula and that was not needed.

Stopped in for happy hour & we will definitely be back. Food & drinks were very good.

This is my first visit since the change in ownership from Maria Maria's. I tried the chile relleno and it was the best chile relleno that I've ever had, and I've sampled restaurants all over California. It was crispy on the outside and just the right proportions for me; I usually can't finish my CR combo dinner from other places. I will definitely be back for more and to try their drinks.
