Changing Tides Café has not just a lovely atmosphere, but also friendly staff, great food, and amazing coffee! My partner and I went here for Valentine's Day, and it was just an overall pleasant experience! The mocha latte I got is the best I've had around here, and the donut egg sandwich was tasty and filling! Definitely will come back again! Happy Valentine's Day! ❤

Very nice cafe. Good coffee and baked goods. Coffee was fresh and made to order, perfectly. Nice cozy ambiance. Staff were nice and friendly. Barista took extra care to prepare my coffee. I will be back when I am in this area.

Amazing donuts and breakfast sandwich - everything is super fresh and high quality. We got the cake donut rolled in coconut (😍), the fluffy honey dip and the breakfast sandwich (perfection). Seamless online ordering. Highly recommend!

Had a scrumptious chocolate sprinkle donut and a refreshing iced earl grey tea. Both were delicious. We ordered outside through a window and a friendly lady took our order. There was no line when we arrived but as we waited for our drinks many people showed up because it is such a popular place. It was well organized.

Great little Cafe on a side street in Newburyport. They have good selection of different flavored donuts that they make fresh. They also offer coffee and other refreshments. Get there early before they sell out of the flavor you want. Blueberry filled, coconut, coffee roll, oreo topped

Love this place! Best staff in town! Friendly and helpful! Their donuts are so fresh and airy! I have been looking for a good coffee place since Fowels and Plum Island Roasters closed. Well here it is! Coffee options for all from cold brew, to pour over, or ice coffee, to a latte'. The patio out back is the best way to start you day or punctuate a day on the town.

Very tasty coffee shop in the downtown area of Newburyport. I got the Ginger Turmeric Chai Latte and it was full of flavor.

Consistently great donuts and coffee. During the warmer months it is also doggo approved.

A very friendly and knowledgeable staff who also provided tips on my dietary requirements (no sugar). The scone was tasty and fresh. The latte tasted quite good as well

My husband and I just got married this past weekend and instead of a cake, we decided to go with donuts and changing tides was amazing!! The owner of the shop was super friendly and responsive, we had to choose this shop! Everyone loved the donuts so much and kept asking us where we got them from, so I am sure all of our friends will be making a trip here for their donut needs!

My wife, Ann, and I went to Changing Tides for the first time this morning, as we had heard how good it was from several other locals! We were very impressed with the expansive options. We went for the coffee, muffin and donut. As I was picking up my order inside the shop , I was so impressed with the personality of one the the workers to everyone that she encountered! As I was exiting to go to their very nice outside patio, I asked her if she might be the owner, to which she said that she was. I expressed that this was “our maiden voyage and that we were very Impressed with the shop and the numerous options! Our coffees and treats were exceptional, as was the ability to enjoy a very nice relaxing patio! Now with all that said, the best is yet to come! After being home for awhile, I realized that I could not find my wallet!! First time ever for me! Having no luck checking every thing at home, we set off to trace all of our stops! When we got back to Changing Tides, I asked the young lady at the ordering area if anyone had found a wallet!! The look on her face made me think
she had a surprise for me!! Then that very personable owner, that I alluded to earlier, approached me and pulled my wallet out of her pocket!!! She said that she found it on the table we were sitting at after we had left!! She made my day, to say the least!! She said that she saw my drivers license and was going to deliver it to my address appearing on my license upon closing her business for the day!!! I was so impressed by her during our first visit and now I am one of her biggest fans, not only for her personality, her attention to her great business, but her genuine commitment to make her customers stupidity a very good day!! We will become “your regulars, not just because of who you are, but because of your wonderful products!!! Thank you so much for being you!!!

Coffee was phenomenal! Amazing cold brew/ nitro cold brew! The tea was really good and they have an incredible tea menu, i cant remember the last cafe i went to that had such an extensive amount of teas. Donuts were really good too! Staff were extremely welcoming and kind/helpful. Atmosphere and styling was some of the best I've experienced. Im going to recommend this place to everyone i know who is a coffee and donut fiend!

This is one of my very favorite places to grab breakfast. The egg sandwiches are cooked to order. No microwave eggs here. Pan fried bacon and egg on 3 cheese bread. Yummm. And then, the BEST scones ever. Mixed berry is my favorite. This place is a 30 minute ride from home for me but so worth the drive! Keep up the great menu and service!!! :)

Changing Tides is one of best things to happen to Newburyport in years IMO. I just absolutely love this place but I only go on weekdays because the queue on weekends is nuts. The staff is super friendly, the coffee excellent and affordable, the donuts delish! The egg sandwich is classic, fresh, and also reasonably priced. The outdoor seating outback is cute and spacious!! They stock great beans and excellent sourdough by local baker Crust Crave, which is also fabulous. I love that they had free coffee for first responders for so long through the pandemic almost as much as I love the orange creamsicle donut I once had here and haven’t seen since. Please bring it back!!!! 💖

Not only were the coffee and donuts exceptional, but the barista was so hospitable. Paige, I believe, made me a fresh chocolate donut because there weren't any. She just made me feel so welcome and truly brightened my day. Being a hospitality professional, I recognize how rare it is to find employees like this, and the owners are lucky! They seem to be off to a great start, and I wish them the best in town.
