Visited with my Son and daughter in law with their 4 year old daughter. Super nice place, free to get in, not crowded. Lot's of animal exhibits, very interactive, great place to take both kids and adults. Workers were super friendly, super clean. Next to it, is the Connecticut river which you can walk down a paved road and take some nice pics of the bridge and river scenery. The river was roaring, quite the site to say the least. We will be back once the leaves start turning. There is a diner across the street also.

This is a fun, paved trail that is a great walking experience. I went on a gloomy day, and there was light traffic, but I imagine it's heavily trafficked on good weather days. There is free parking on the main street area entrance.

The trail was nice. Canal quite high and fast flowing. Went over to a safe spot to touch river. A bit of trash in some areas, looks like teens party where old brickwork is exposed and open to the space underneath.

Would like to walk the trail in summer if back this way. Would see again.

Check out the excellent information center for history of local industry and the Connecticut river watershed. The rail trail is a relaxed walk or ride along the canal with views of the old buildings/paper Mills.

This is a great trail that's very level. Only a few spots that is hiller which is only up to the street level. The people walking were super friendly and polite which made for a safe feeling while walking. Wish they had public restrooms and restaurants set up...would be super neat. We just loved this trail for a snow free winter walk.

The bike trail here is fantastic. I would walk from the Discovery Center to the Train Bridge to the train yard over in Cheapside. The entire length of the trail is paved and mostly flat. It's rarely crowded with people and has ample parking at multiple points. There is limited tree cover but you find some towards the Patch and they also have picnic tables at that shade.

We didn't walk far as it was muggy and drizzling. I hope to come back and explore further.

This is one of the best places to photograph sunsets. It's beautiful and away from town a bit.

Certainly one of my favorite places for running. Canalside Trail is one of the scenic trails along the Connecticut River in Turners Falls. It's a really picturesque location that is always teeming with people and exercise lovers engaged in running, walking and riding along the Bike path.

Beautiful bike and walking trail through scenic Turner’s Falls. Classic brick factory buildings and flood control dams. Finish with a spectacular old bridge over the Connecticut River.

I love the rail trail in Turner's.
In the late spring, one can stop by the fish ladder viewing window.
Walking, jogging, or biking along the canal is beautiful.
Take a look at the hydroelectric plant, check out the rail yard just over the border, in Deerfield, or swing downtown for a bit or some shopping.
You can't go wrong.
