Visited here in April 2022 in the off-season and the lobster roll was world class. Outstanding Maki rolls and beer selection on tap.

This place hits the spot!! Just as gorgeous in winter on beautiful day as summer. Especially with great cocktail on Friday afternoon

We had a super fun time on a girl's trip here. My lobster roll was delicious. The service was amazing. Chantelle was so quick to help our party stay warm and seat us. Taylor our waiter was so prompt in taking our orders, keeping drinks coming and bringing food. We had a great experience!

We only had about 45 minutes to eat here before catching our ferry home, and wow, we had such a good experience. The waitress guided us in ordering foods that would finish cooking quickly, and we were able to enjoy two drinks, oysters, cole slaw, and a basket of chicken tenders with a view of the water all in our quick visit to Lookout Tavern. The view is stunning. I would totally recommend this place, especially if you can sit near the lookout area!

We had great experience on a rainy day. The place was packed, so we sat in the cover porch. The staff was amazing !!! Coctail was big, delicious, and cheap. Food was just perfect. We started with fresh fry calamari. We try buch a tacos and burgers. The menu is crazy big. We went prepared from home so we could order asap. Suggest to look at the menu before you go there.
Overall, great experience!
I'm definitely recommending that restaurant.

Great food and service. And drinks of course! Busy due to everyone looking for respite from the rain. We had a bar table and the bartenders hustled, all smiles and engaging the whole time. We weren't forgotten about as with other establishments.
The Lobster Roll is a Best of... for many years. Definitely well deserved.
Enjoy!

We had the best lunch here. The view is amazing! All the food was delicious and our server, Taylor, was attentive and gave us the greatest service. He made our experience even better. We had a large group and Shantel at the front helped us find a comfortable seat where we could all fit - she was so accommodating. I had the Chicken in Paradise with a garden salad and it was really good. My friends said the lobster roll and fish and chips were the best they ever had. Next time I'm here, I'll definitely come again.

Staff was extremely friendly. The chowder had a great taste but was a bit thick for my liking. The fries and ranch are amazing and the lobster roll was delicious. My fiance had the burger which was also tasty. This plus the view, makes it a 5 star experience!

Really great lobster rolls with a ton of meat. Service was fast, place was clean and surprisingly they served sushi? Kind of odd but looked good quality. The margaritas were a bit weird tasting though. Tasted like bottom shelf or maybe a bit soapy in the glass. Overall, great experience.

The service got off to a slow start, but I'll give it to them cuz it was very busy. I wanted to try the Lobsta Roll to see how it compared to my NH roll... it was the BEST LOBSTA Roll I ever had!!! OMG! Aleast 4 lobstas with a buttered, toasted New England style hot dog Roll. I hope to make it back here next summer for sure!

Delicious! Great place for seafood that's more than just deep fried. I had the Mahi mahi taco, and my wife had the lobster roll. Both dishes were prepared very well.
We had also ordered sushi for a starter which is prepared fresh by an on site sushi chef. There is also many more items I would love to try on the menu.

Dining in was a bit tight with small tables but the outdoor breeze and sea shanty atmosphere made up for it.

The staff was friendly and attentive to your needs.

There was a short 10/15 minute wait to get in even during the busiest lunch time hour, which wasn't bad for just coming off the ferry. By the way the ferry dock is literally a minute walk away.

Will revisit next time I travel to Martha's Vineyard.

We ordered the sautéed, buttered lobster roll and whole belly fried clam basket. For two people, it was a lot! The clams are market price and come with A LOT of fries. We could have gotten the clam appetizer instead. Broccoli slaw and tarter sauce were delicious. Chips that come with the lobster roll are really good!
Cocktails were fun and delicious and the New England centric beer list is pretty good. Fun spot! We got there just before noon, when we left there was already a line on a Wednesday.

The Lookout Tavern is very busy and seems like a popular destination spot for Martha’s Vineyard. There was a 30 min wait to get in and so we put our name down and came back. The staff was friendly and the windows were open with an excellent view of the ocean. All of the decor was either sports or beach related. The food was delicious! The Sam Adam’s Beer battered fish tacos were the finest in New England. I was told that the lobster roll was the best you could ever have. There was vast selection of drinks to choose from too. A definite must if on Martha’s Vineyard. Hope this helps!

our first meal on Martha's Vineyard. We landed there by accident at 3pm on a Wednesday. It was not crowded, the service & food did not disappoint ( I am picky about both). We got prime seating right away, overlooking the water. Raw bar sampler, good value. Lobster Roll - was Very! impressive, huge on lobster, low on Mayo. Patty Melt on marble rye also V good. Those dining around us were also very satisfied w their meals. All portions are quite generous, w/out skimping on quality.
After researching options, we decided to go back to Lookout for dinner 730 Thursday night. This time It was packed, Line out the door. w a 25 min wait for a table. ( not awful)
We received our "table ready" text within 20 min.
But had already wandered into a joint down the street that had live music...
I hope this info helps someone else decide where to eat while on vacation. Time is precious, bad meal experiences can be a major bummer :-)

Spent the weekend in Oak Bluff and it was absolutely beautiful. We walked and explored. Stopped at the lookout tavern for some lunch. The lobster roll was AMAZING and so filling. We also had the cajun fried oyster and it's the best one so far. Will definitely return.

So a few things. One, I'm naturally very skeptical of gimmicky menu items. Two, I'm skeptical when a restaurant claims they have a big lobster roll, most restaurants' idea of a big lobster roll is like 5 oz of lobster meat but this place did deliver on its promise. This might be the only lobster roll I've ever had that did justify the $30 price tag. The lobster meat was nicely seasoned and I actually left feeling full. I rarely order lobster rolls because it's usually like $25 bucks and I leave hungry. Not only was the food amazing for the price, but service was very polite and professional and the cocktails were great too. Would recommend if you feel like indulging a big.

Definitely worth the hype. The food is really well made and actually worth the money. The lobster roll is pretty pricy but if you're into lobster it's totally worth it. There's so much lobster on it I almost thought I couldn't finish it. The fries are crispy, the fish and chips are dope and the drinks are plentiful. Good atmosphere and a ton of safe outdoor seating (for those reading this during covid times). It's beachfront so the views are nice and there's always a little ocean breeze. Servers are super nice and helpful.
