The electronic department was also very friendly. I was pleasantly surprised at the customer service especially after reading some of these reviews.

I had first checked JCPenney at Mall St Matthews and it was hard to find anyone. It was hit or miss some people were helpful, others were annoyed you asked them anything.
Completely different experience at Sears!

I went back a few days later (to both) and items at both JCP and Sears. At JCP the associate at the register was snippy and scowled the whole time. At Sears the associate at the register smiled and chatted with me.

Different associates each time. Loving Sears right now.

I called to the oxmoor sears Center in Louisville ky 3 times today to verify stock of the tool box I was going to purchase and have my wife pick up. They confirmed over the phone that the online inventory was correct for that location. I then placed my order and made necessary arrangements to have it picked up. My wife gets there and only gets half of it and that the rest has to be order because of inventory being off. N the only thing they could do is tell me sorry n that the store in another state had the rest of it. This is not proper customer service and unless there is any way some1 can do something more than tell me sorry I will not be purchasing so much as a candy bar from sears again. After all this store manager calls me to explain more throughly what happened and refund me a portion of my money. Thank you for making it right!

Warranty return. Lifetime shovel replaced quickly and easily. Friendly staff.

I just had a high efficiency Kenmore washer and dryer installed. The sales experience was good. The sales associate was knowledgeable and not pushy by any means. Up front pricing with no hidden expenses. There was a issue when I received the invoice via email but that was resolved and ended up being a misinterpretation. Delivery/installation was scheduled for 530 PM to 730 PM and actual arrival time was 710 PM. Delivery people were polite and worked with me on location along with a few other request. That said the next day I read the installation documentation where it was stressed the importance of leveling the equipment. Placing a level on both the washer and dryer showed the machines to be out of level (outside the level scribe marks) however neither rocked as such. I never thought to ask to see the level prior to them leaving. So I spent my time and labor leveling both considering these are located in a tight space. It was not easy due to accessibility. The dryer door needed to be reoriented and I did that as well although the documentation for delivery does not require them to do that. It would have been politically correct do so. The equipment is great thus far so we will see how it holds up. Installation is the reason for the 4 star review.

This is a typical Sears department store at an indoor shopping mall. I never ever come to the mall for the purpose of visiting this store, but when I'm at the mall for other reasons, I always swing in just to browse around.

GOOD: Good place to include with shopping for mattresses. There is always racks and racks of jackets and coats on clearance at the end of the season. Great place to browse for a good "toasty" deal.

BAD: Customer before me opened a Sears credit card and received warm friendly service. I was making a return and received cold service (I was never spoken to during the entire transaction.). I understand they were getting new business from the customer before me, but I still feel this was extremely poor customer service.

It was hot and stuffy and there were systems issues with the register so a long time to get checked out

My experience is A Nightmare. I purchased a love seat at the Oxmoor Sears store. I was told it could not be delivered. I found that odd so I called to inquire about delivery. I was told Sears could deliver my Loveseat. When it was delivered by Sears there was no paper work, booklet instructions nothing.
It is a motion Loveseat. Sears did not deliver the box that plugs in (because it operates electronically.) You need to I have called Sears delivery and was told the box is at the store. The store says the box that I need to recline the Loveseat is at the warehouse. Here I am in a ridiculous mess. I'm on day 2 and my 5th phone call. The delivery people did not know how to make the backs of the Loveseat go down so it is sitting in my kitchen, evidently you can push or pull a lever so the back of the seat goes down.

Can this place actually get a management staff that cares and does its job? Bathrooms are usually nasty or have leaking pipes. Employees seemed unaware they had two inches of water in floor in men's bathroom despite urinal being out of order. Not to mention on an 80 to 90 degree day it's always ridiculously hot and stuffy. No organization either. Who wants to shop there and no wonder Sears is going the way of the dodo bird
