My food was wonderful but more than anything the waiters were excellent!! My waiter was Alyssa. She was so sweet! We also had a guy named Donnie who was always so helpful and answered our questions even though he was not our server. These 2 servers were the best! They were awesome! Will definitely be comimg back.

We have seen this place on Diners Drive-Ins and doves but have never made it in town to eat there. On Saturday night my brother-in-law and his girlfriend recommended we go. So the four of us loaded up came to town and enjoyed a fantastic meal and experience! We started with around of Guinness and several appetizers followed with entrees and dessert! Service food atmosphere and experience all were fantastic.

I've been coming here for years and the food and service never fail to impress. The food is always fresh and comforting. The servers are knowledgeable and friendly.

My favorite part, though, is the variety of food! I developed unusual dietary restrictions and never thought I could enjoy eating here again... and yet I've managed to find several options I enjoy!

Gluten-free, vegetarian, IC, even vegan diets are welcome at Irish Rover!

The food was fabulous! The owner was very nice and came and visited with us, and we chatted about experiences, going home for vacations, how I have moved all around, and life in general. He definitely knows what it takes to be an owner and connect with his customers.
We had the guinness beef stew and fish and chips, both were great! We were so full that we decided dessert would have to be another visit 😋. Prices were very reasonable and affordable (average $15pp). Highly recommend this establishment for any dinner or/or occasion!

This restaurant is my go to!!! Food is amazing, service is fantastic, and the owner is truly an Irish gentleman. He greets me warmly every time I visit with a friendly pat on the back. As a sales manager I appreciate the genuine warmth and character of The Irish Rover and recommend it to anyone looking for good food and drinks!!!

One of my favorite places in Louisville. Good beer, good food, some of the best fish and chips in town! Dog friendly patio last time I visited.

So much to say… the appetizer was great, Benedictine. The main courses, smoked salmon gratin and cottage pie were both amazing. We were beyond stuffed after eating those, but had to indulge in the raspberry trifle for dessert… perfection in dessert form. Five stars no question. Plan to visit!!!

Delicious, well-prepared food. From appetizer to dessert, everything was wonderful. Our waitress was friendly and professional and service was prompt, even though they were quite busy when we got there. Of all the restaurants we tried while in Louisville, the Irish Rover was by far my favorite.

Food was delicious. The scotch eggs we're wonderful served with a spicy mustard on the side that made them perfect. We had the Welsh Rabbit, Lamb Stuffed Cabbage and the Cottage Pie.
The 157 year old building has wonderful atmosphere and the staff was knowledgeable of their menu. They made great recommendations. We plan on stopping there again on our way thru Town.

I had my 1st Scoth egg. The yolk didn't run like I've seen on the cooking shows, but it was delicious. I also had the fish and chips. One of the best fish and chips in the Louisville area!!

My husband and I have been here a couple of times now, and each time has been such a joy. The restaurant itself has such an old pub feel, is clean, and has plenty of eating room and a cool bar. The menu has something for pretty much everyone and everything we've had so far is absolutely delicious. The bangers and mash was by far the best I've ever had and my husband absolutely loves their scotch eggs. Definitely perfect for a date night, hang with the coworkers, or a family lunch.

Great food. Best fish & chips in town. Best sour dough bread available in a restaurant. Friendly, good service. Never had anything here that was disappointing. It's a bit expensive these days. $19 bucks for fish and chips. A little expensive even if they are the best.

The only true Irish restaurant in Louisville. Fantastic hearty portions of food. Staff was light hearted and fun which only enhanced the home like atmosphere of the place. Beer and Irish whiskey selection is also quite good.

Everything was delicious, and the portions were just right. Our servers were very busy, but very kind and helpful. We didn't have to wait long for food even though the place was packed. Highly recommend!

I absolutely LOVE the Irish Rover. It's been one of my favorite places since the late 90s when I was in college. This is a warm and lively place that feels like home, even if I've lived 1,000 miles away and haven't visited in a year. Food is absolutely delicious. Staff are friendly and helpful. I can't remember ever tasting something I didn't like. Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed. Smoked salmon and potato gratin and the brown soda bread are my go to meal.

Great place to eat! Bangers and mash are delicious. Scotch egg is the best appetizer we have had in a long time. My wife was very happy for her first time trying good Irish food.

Some of the best classic Irish pub fare around. Crispy, well-seasoned fish and chips, and good bangers and mash. There are plenty of cold, Irish import drafts to quench your thirst, too!

The Irish Rover is always good but on this particular occasion, it was damn near magical. We had the table next to the fireplace and NO, we did not slip a $20 to Michael to get it! Always good, always eclectic. Love the Rover!
