Plehn’s Bakery is amazing! I ordered a graduation cake for my sister’s high school graduation party. I provided an example of an idea that she wanted with a few vague details (I personally like letting the baker have leeway in creativity; I enjoy seeing their artistic take on it) . They did not disappoint! The sides were airbrushed, the flowers and design were beautiful! The inside of the cake was layered with chocolate and vanilla. That was a great recommendation from the young lady who took my order. The little diploma was the perfect touch! My sister and family loved it. This was very well done and it tasted great!

Plehn's designed and baked my husband and mine's wedding cake this past October and it turned out beautiful! They were so easy to work with and even offered a tasting. After my initial consultation I changed my mind about the design. I could come into the shop because we lived in Chicago, so they let me email them my design and it looked like an exact replica! They were wonderful. I highly recommend :).

I can't say enough about this bakery. I would let the picture speak to their excellent decorating skill, but I would be doing a complete injustice to the depth of it if I didn't point out something not obvious about the cake by looking at it, even up close: there isn't a single scrap of fondant on this cake. That is all icing. Delicious icing on a very delicious cake. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I have been buying specialty cakes from here for over 15 years and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Ordered a Birthday Cake for my mom's 80th Birthday Party and can't express enough how beautiful the cake was and how tasty! I ordered the 14" two tier (lemon flavored with whipped icing) and it fed approx 55 people (with quite a bit left over). There were so many people that commented on how beautiful it was. Thank you!
The picture does not even do it justice... it was a very big cake. Would recommend Plehn's for sure. Was also nostalgic for my mom as they did my parents Wedding Cake over 55 years ago.

I am starting to fall in love with this place. Once you entered, you will fill in all of the Bakery smell. I love it.
Once you enter, it is important to take the number of where they will serve you. I had donut, angel dip, and oatmeal pie. They were all so delicious!

I was told my a friend I had to try Derby Pie while in Kentucky. I explained this to the young lady working and she said they have triple crown pie, so I ordered one. It is very good. The crust is so flaky and delicious.

The store was very busy but moved quickly. Seemed like one of those place where everyone knows everyone.

I ordered the cake for my sister gender reveal. I order the cake and cupcakes. It was delicious and staff were very helpful.

Best donuts in Louisville! I grew up in St. Matthew’s and my mom would get them for us at least once a week. I always loved watching the rotating cake display and have fond memories going to this bakery with both of my grandmothers. Anytime I am back in town, I will always try to stop to get a Plehn’s Bakery donut or two. The last time I was there, there were still two of the same employees working that I remember from at least ~15+ years ago!

Plehns did my wedding cake last year and I’ll never use another bakery now. For any celebration we will be getting our cakes from them. They have delicious cakes, their staff is friendly and professional and did I mention their cakes are DELICIOUS!

We were in Louisville for a weekend on the way to Thanksgiving in Illinois with the family. We wanted to take some baked goods for the dinner and looked for the best bakery in town. Words cannot describe how good the chocolate pie and custard pie were. We also couldn’t resist having a chocolate honey bun and a cinnamon pastry, which we ate before we ever even started the car. Plehn’s is the best bakery I have tried, anywhere, in any city.

The staff was very helpful and patient with us as we were first time visitors, even though it was busy! The people also there to get their goodies were very nice too and gave good recommendations. It's the kind of place you'd want to bring your s/o or your grandkids. We loved it!

Wonderful bakery with soooooo many options to choose from - everything is delicious !!!!!! “Thumb print cookies” & “Merenge shell cookies” are two of my favorites ! They also see Mardi Gras themed cupcakes 🧁!

Ordered 3 dozen baseball decorated donuts for my sons’s first birthday party! There was one box where a couple of them looked like the frosting had melted but otherwise they all were great! Tasted amazing and turned out really cute!

Overall I was really happy considering I had asked three other places locally to do this and they all said no!

Sorry for the bad photos, they don't do the Brownie Supreme justice. It was so delicious! We also picked up some spice cookies and a lemon meringue tart that were amazing.

We ordered a wedding cake a week ago and thought that we were supposed to pick it up on a Friday. The bakery said we had asked to pick it up the following day. They said we could get it a day early and they were able to get it done in two hours. We have been going to this bakery since I was a kid. It's still the best bakery in Louisville.

I love Plehn’s. It is my favorite bakery — love the raisin bread, thumbprints, iced sugar cookies, and glazed donuts!! The icebox cookies are a favorite when they’re soft/fresh. I always find myself comparing other donuts to the glazed at Plehn’s and haven't found a better one!

My sons birthday was on the 19th but we were celebrating it on this past Sunday. I had ordered the cake on Monday the 15th. Ordering the cake was very easy and they understood what I had wanted. I preferred a Pokémon vanilla cake since that is what my son wanted. When I had went on Sunday to pick it up, it looked so amazing. Very much detailed and neat. The process for paying for it was simple and easy. They got me outta there in a hurry with no issues. As I got home to celebrate my son 11th birthday, eating the cake was so delicious. The cake itself was very moist and not too sweet. Although the frosting was a lot to handle, the cake was outstanding. They have done an amazing job! My son was smiling from ear to ear. Thank you! I will be ordering another cake from them.

Best place for birthday cakes in Louisville!! Their cakes are light and airy. The icing is to die for. And even after a couple days the cake gets better as the icing becomes a little crispier (there is probably a more technical term for this). So good

Plehn’s Bakery is absolutely incredible. No matter how many customers there are, I’m always in and out in a timely manner. The quality of their goods is top notch. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid & cant say enough good things about it. The custard danish is my all time favorite & their cookies are a close second.
