Najah grocery & Deli

Najah offers catering services. I ordered dinners for friends for a special occasion. The food was ready on time. Servings were generous and each dish was delicious. My friends were very pleased to have an African meal prepared for them. I highly recommend Najah Catering!

What awesome and authentic food. I came about this place by picking up a sandwich from the owners stand at the downtown farmers market on Saturday when they offered me a free sample.
Not exactly sure the name of the sandwich, but it was some kind of meat, and this was hands down "The Best Sandwich" I've ever had. No joke. Everything about this was delicious, down to the bun crisped to perfection.
I will provide more details after my next visit as I plan on making this place a regular stop on my menu options.

Zainab is a precious woman as well as a great cook. I met her at the Valley Junction Farmer's Market and Downtown Farmer's market this past year as another vender and she is one of my favorite go-to's for Masala Chai tea, and vegetable samosas! She's friendly and when food is homemade and handmade you know it! Such a treasure to Zainab and her cooking here in Des Moines cooking. Sukran!

I've tried many Sambusas around Des Moines and by far this one was the best. The filling is flavorful and the dough has a perfect texture. Highly recommend.

Absolutely loved the Sombusa. Walked into the store to pick up some ground beef and tried the Sombusa and its amazing. Definitely recommend.

I tried a sombusa last week at the farmer’s market and it was delicious. I went to their store location today and got more beef sombusas and an iced chai tea. It all tasted great. I wish I got her name, but the woman preparing the food was so nice and welcoming. I will definitely be back!

I ran across Najah when they were at the DSM Farmers Market and their food was the best I tried. I went to their store front and the lady was so nice and pleasant. This is the place to go for Sombusa and Paratha!! The food is so well seasoned and she makes it fresh for you on the spot. Try it and your stomach will thank you!

They were at a stand at the 4th of July celebration. The food was amazing and they were very nice. I will be going to their deli soon!

Wonderful store with lots of unique items and also the best Sambuca, Mandaze (African donuts) and chai in town!
