Coals Artisan Pizza

Great pizza. The crust is crispy but not crunchy and yet still soft. I got the butchertown which has all the meat. Excellent choice for meat lovers. My wife got the Iroquois and I almost preferred that to mine. It was so good. The crispy onions on that one were a nice touch.

Enjoyed a great little birthday dinner at Kohl’s this week! The atmosphere was cozy and fun. The service was quick and efficient. The food was absolutely amazing! We all ordered individual pizzas and then traded “slice for slice” and every flavor was excellent. I certainly enjoyed my Brownsboro margarita, pizza!

Good golly, this is delicious pizza! It is rare to find a place that satisfies all of my family, but this restaurant does. The best pizza I’ve ever had was in Florence (Firenze), Italy twenty years ago, and this pizza I had last night was just as good! I will be back!

The restaurant itself is super cute, but seating is TIGHT. That’s why I have it a 4/5 on atmosphere. It’s uncomfortable to have to weave around other people enjoying their pizza.

Finally, we had a very nice waitress who did a great job. However, the guys bringing our pizza weren’t super friendly and when I asked for more napkins since we had to use all of ours on a spilled drink, he brought two napkins for five people. I had to chase down someone to get more napkins, and no one ever helped us with cleaning up the mess. All in all, it wasn’t terrible service, but something to think about.

All in all, it’s a great restaurant, and we will definitely return.

The food was amazing it was a big party of 11 people and we all ordered they're 12-in individual pizza. They all looked amazing. Each one is named after an area in the city. I ordered the Bardstown road minus the caramelized onions added bacon The food quality was outstanding prices were comparable.

The pizza is light & filling. The ambiance has date night vibes. The mushroom appetizer is sooooo good! A definite must try! I don't eat wings so I can't speak from personal experience about them but the rest of my table (four men) all enjoyed them! You won't regret going here.

They were both really good pizzas. The crust is really delicious. My little two year old absolutely loved the crust. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful which really made the entire pizza just perfect. Price is good and you'd think you could eat an entire pizza on your own but its actually a lot of pizza. Good service too.

Some of the best pizza I've eaten came from Coals. The ambience is as good as the food! Their prices are in line with what you get and they have a good selection of beers, cocktails, wines, and sodas. We'll definitely recommend and return to Coals. Great food!

Delicious different pizza with topping like fig jam! They haven't forgot about traditional toppings either. The sandwiches and salads looked good! The appetizer of stuffed mushrooms was amazing!

I like the brownsboro it's just good with me, fire burnt crust with a lot of juicy pizza sauce perfect crust & just a great pizza.

I also have a great time at Coals! The food is always 10/10 and the lemon drop martini is the best cocktail in my opinion! My go to pizza is the Crescent Hill made the spicy bbq way.

This is the best pizza in the city of Louisville and it seriously isn’t close. I eat pizza almost every day and have been to just about everywhere and Coals has me coming back over and over because of their consistency and quality which is nothing but award winning, do yourself a favor and plan a night out here with a date or group of friends

Very fast service with a large group of 12. The staff was friendly and good about checking if you need anything. Loved the food. Great pizza!

Coals Artisan Pizza has been the “go to” pizza restaurant and take out place for years. It made it through COVID with a robust take out business and outdoor dining scene in St Matthews. It’s not regular take out pizza price wise but the quality and taste is worth the extra expense. Just had a birthday party with Coals Pizza and it was a big hit!

Amazing pizza and great service! I love the thin crust. This was my first time visiting but I'll definitely come back.

We just got home from this establishment and I've immediately gone to my computer to write this. As a gift we were given a gift card for Coals and are so glad that we received it. The pizza was absolutely delicious........the beer was cold.....the service was excellent.......and the General Manager went out of his way to make sure we were happy with everything. Prices were reasonable, too! This places deserves the 5 star rating.........and then some. We'll be back!
