I can't share enough about the outstanding service Dr. Walker and staff have provided. I had spent much of my life unaware of how my thought and behavioral patterns were impacted by ADD. Dr. Walker spent several hours with me to help advance my understanding. While under his care, I have been promoted multiple times at work, launched a new business, and been nominated as President of a local institution. My life has benefited greatly by Dr. Walker and I highly recommend him.

Dr Walker and his team are the most professional and caring team I’ve ever worked with. He truly cares for his patients and with work tirelessly to help anyway he can.

Dr. Walker is one of just a few doctors with an in depth understanding of the cause, course, and treatment of ADHD. I first sought treatment for ADHD with my PCP. I had numerous unsuccessful trials, and I know my experience is not unique. Physicians have so many ailments they need to treat, and so many medications to be aware of, it is no surprise they cannot achieve proficiency in each and every case. Dr. Walker understands ADHD as a patient and as a psychiatrist, and his specialization in the area makes him a great resource for anyone suffering from ADHD.

After having spent my whole life being misdiagnosed, finding Dr Walker has been life changing. With the correct diagnosis of ADHD and being on the right medications, I am able to live without the depression and anxiety I was previously diagnosed with. I am now able to stay organized with his guidance and feel accomplished at the end of each day! Thanks Dr. Walker.

I am so happy that I found Dr. Walker! I have been seeing him for a number of years now, and i would highly recommend him to anyone. He has helped me come to terms with my ADD in a way that has helped me embrace the condition rather than be ashamed of it. He is extremely knowledgeable and has provided me with numerous tips and tricks to master not just my school life, but my home life as well. It’s safe to say that I’m living my best, most organized life because of him and his team.
Kathleen absolutely rocks. She promptly returns all phone calls and emails, and will try her best to work you into the schedule if there is ever an emergency. I owe a ton of my newfound success to this practice and hope that anyone reading this will do themselves a favor and make the appointment with Dr. Walker!

I have enjoyed my experience with Dr Walker and his office staff. Kathleen has been extremely helpful and responsive. The team is very good about setting expectations and communicating in advance. For example, about varied hours around holidays. They know how to work with folks that have ADHD and the process is smooth and easy to work with.

In the last 4 months working with Dr Walker I have managed to complete two sections of a basement remodel, we can park in the garage for the first time since we moved in, and I have lost almost 25 lbs. These improvements are directly related to having the proper medication and guidance of this staff. Thank you!

Excellent practice!! Dr. Walker has been incredible to work with and with his help, my career has taken off. I went without any medication for over a decade and with his help, I was able to find what worked best for me and I cannot thank him enough. I truly believe that I would not be where I am today without his help. He has changed my life.

I have personal experience with Dr. Walker as I took my teenaged son (who was diagnosed with ADHD) to see him for a time.

Dr. Walker was wonderful with my son and helped him learn to set up a regimented calendar so that he didn't waste time. He also worked with my son teaching him how to take notes and generally hold himself accountable (in spite of his learning disability) so that he could achieve more success scholastically. In addition, he was also a wonderful example of what an individual with ADHD can accomplish.

I would like to address some of the negative comments others have made regarding Dr. Walker that I feel are unfair:

Accusing Dr. Walker of being a narcissist is just plain silly. During the natural course of a conversation any therapist (or anyone period) may use their life experience to forge a connection with the individual they are speaking with. My son and I were both very glad to hear of Dr. Walker's experiences in the course of therapy sessions.

Dr. Walker does charge a considerable rate and he does not accept insurance. I expected value at that price and I felt that value was given. After all, this is his business and he has the right to set his own rates; just as I had the right to seek less expensive help for my son elsewhere.

I felt that Dr. Walker was honest, sincere and genuinely interested in my son and his success. I'm not sure what more could be expected of a therapist.

Dr. Walker ended up being the 1 professional that "got" me. He understood my drive and laser focus. He also helped me to understand that my ADHD impacted my family in ways I never knew. As a family we learned so much from our time with Dr. Walker. As a business owner, I appreciated his very streamlined way of doing business. Everything was always consistent and dependable. Kathleen is probably the best office manager I have ever seen. If she ever quits working for him, I will have my wife hire her! Thanks Doc!

I have two sons who are under the care of Dr. Walker, and we have had a very positive experience thus far. Is he a miracle worker? Absolutely not. Responsibly treating ADHD takes time, commitment and constant reevaluation to get results. I have to say that I greatly appreciate the fact that on our first visit to him, he did not write a script for my children. This has been in stark contrast to other physicians who have simply given us random prescription medication and basically said, "Best of luck. Call the office next month when you need a refill." What?!? Dr. Walker's view on medication is that it's just a part of the treatment protocol. Pills don't teach skills. My husband and I are currently working on tailoring our parenting to create a happy, harmonious home environment with children who have ADHD--not an easy endeavor. It's a process, and we are getting there one visit at a time.

As far as Dr. Walker being a "narcissist," from some of the negative reviews, I don't see it. Talking about his family has strictly been in the context of positive changes he has made in his parenting. Talking about his office gadgets has been in the context of how he has it set up as a person who struggles with ADHD himself. I believe that he is an excellent role model for my sons because they are able to finally relate to someone who has struggled with ADHD.

I also want to add that Kathleen is truly an amazing office manager. Her communication skills are top notch. Anytime I have called or e-mailed the office during working hours, she has responded within an hour, and she has always done her best to accommodate my requests.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Walker’s for 3 years. In those 3 years my life has seen dramatic, traumatic, and truly wonderful changes. It is no exaseration on my part that without the guidance and care of Dr. Walker I would never have found the strength, willingness, and confidence to face my challenges with a sense of calm, acceptance, and personal responsibility.
The combination of medication and talk therapy helped me to understand that my natural state of ADHD can be, and has been, under control to such a positive and sustainable level that my personal relationships have improved to include the trust of my family, friends, and co-workers. Trust was something that was missing from my life until I started working with Dr. Walker.
Working with Dr. Walker is an accurate statement. He expects, and rightly so, that his patience’s understand he can guide but the real work must be done by the patient.
There are no easy fixes for living with ADHD. He understands life with ADHD. His willingness to discuss his own experiences helped me understand that my life and experiences were within a shared experience with others who live with ADHD.
I no longer suffer from ADHD. I live with it, with how I think, with how I react, and with who I am with the strength of self esteem. It’s my self esteem, but it is great to have Dr. Walker on my side.

I was a patient of Dr. Walker for many years. My work with him improved my life significantly. I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety as a teenager but wasn’t diagnosed with ADHD until I was an adult (though, in hindsight, I had ADHD all of my life). Initially, my ADHD was managed by primary care providers and psychiatrists who focused on medications. It helped some but I continued to struggle. Dr. Walker was the first doctor to emphasize the need for behavioral changes and organizational skills to manage my life. He guides the process but there is much work to do outside of the sessions. I have learned to set priorities, keep a calendar, set reminders and alarms, and take time to pause and assess (such as the ability to fulfill a request before saying yes, as previously I would just say yes and end up overbooked or unable to follow through). These have made life flow more smoothly and improved my relationships with family and friends. Through my work with Dr. Walker, I realized a significant portion of my depression and anxiety arose from untreated/inadequately treated ADHD. As management of my ADHD improved, stress decreased, anxiety and depression improved. I reached a point about a year ago I was able to continue without his guidance. However, I am thankful for his care and the impact it has had on my life.

There are some negative reviews I would like to address. Dr. Walker does reference his ADHD journey and that of his family. For me, this was beneficial. He had experience with the condition and had found methods that could help manage it. Previous providers I attended did not offer this. I will grant his care is not cheap, but for me, it was worth it. While there are healthcare providers that have lower rates and take insurance, there are others, like Dr. Walker, who do not. There are a lot of costs in maintaining a practice that one typically does not think of, from overhead and utilities to systems maintenance. In the end, only a portion of the fee would actually make it to his bank account. He does charge for refilling a prescription. He is prescribing controlled substances so must review KASPER (the Kentucky controlled substance database) which takes time. An individual claimed he is not a medical doctor. He does not have an MD but rather a DO. MD indicates doctor of allopathic medicine, DO indicates doctor of osteopathic medicine. Both are fully licensed physicians/doctors. One individual noted they found the timing of positive reviews to be suspect. However, I am choosing to post my positive review now in response to negative reviews. While some have accused Dr. Walker of creating burner accounts to post false positive reviews, I don’t believe this is the case. I am sorry that some individuals did not have a good experience with Dr. Walker. However, that does not negate the fact that others of us have benefited from his care.

I used to go to Dr. Walker for ADD. He was very helpful and straightforward with things I needed to change. He helped me utilize an online calendar to help me stay organized and gave me great advice on day-to-day activities.

I have tried many different medications that gave me terrible side effects such as, headache, dizziness, trembling hands, tiredness, mood swings, etc. However, Dr. Walker was the first doctor who prescribed me a medicine that actually helped me focus without harsh side effects.

The only downside to his services is the price because my insurance did not reimburse me. However, I do know he offers coupons for medications & some insurances reimburse or discount the price...

I would recommend Dr. Walker to anyone who has ADD or ADHD who wants to seek help for themselves. You need to have a positive mindset and motivation to be able to succeed well with his help.

Dr. Walker is a clinician who is truly passionate about his field of study, as well as his patients. He has demonstrated a deep understanding of environmental and physiological changes over time that contribute to prevalence and presentation of ADD/ADHD in todays society. Dr. Walker has developed a treatment approach, that while tailored to individuals, applies behavioral modification skills and medicine (if needed) to optimize outcomes of patients of all ages. I am confident that those exposed to his interventions will learn the skills they need now, and in the future, so as to be the very best versions of themselves. I would highly recommend Dr. Walker.

The compassion and patience Dr. Walker has shown to me while treating my issues of PTSD and ADHD have been a Godsend. I am a combat wounded veteran and have been seen by many Doctors throughout the “broken” VA health system. Sadly, I was just a number and was caught up in a system that focused on the “quantity” not the “quality” of people being treated. The VA was quick to prescribe a pill and pushed me and others through the system without taking the time to know our story. Thank God I was able to connect with Dr. Walker. He is a doctors who genuinely cares for his patient’s wellbeing. He took the time to listen and get to know me. He was never judgmental, aloof or dismissal of the journey that I have been on. He has worked with me and has me on a path of clarity. My family, friends but most importantly, myself are forever grateful for the relationship that has been for forged and the treatment that has only been offered to me by Dr. Walker.

Dr Walker was amazing. He truly understood what my son was feeling and any barriers he had in life. There were issues that my son would only talk to him about. He has a better knowledge of ADHD than any other doctor we have had experience with and there have been many. Totally worth the money!!

I was diagnosed with ADHD as a child but only took medication and then stopped for a while. After nearly failing a few classes in high school my mom reinitiated my medication regiment (much to my disliking). My grades started to get much better; but there were some things with which I still struggled. Fast forward a few years, I graduated from UK with a finance degree and got into law school. I am currently in my 3rd year of law school and clerking. I noticed for the extent of my day (15-18 hours) my medication was not working nor did I have the tools to organize my day. I sought the help of Dr. Walker and while he helped me manage my medication properly and he did much more. He is training me to prioritize my tasks, build a calendar so not to stress/obsess/forget deadlines, and schedule personal time for a balance in my life. It is worth the investment in my schooling, future career and overall well-being. I fully believe he has helped me control my ADD. I would definitely recommend Dr. Walker.

Dr. Walker is an impeccable psychiatrist. He truly cares about his patients and listens with a carefully tuned and knowledgable ear. Dr. Walker is timely and reasonably priced for his services. He treats the whole patient and not just surface level symptoms alone. I have throughly enjoyed being his patient and have complete confidence in Dr. Walkers therapy.

I have known I was ADHD since I was 14. I took medication and went to regular appointments while I was in school and living at home. After taking my first “big girl job”and moving to Louisville, I started hating medication and blamed it for my high level of frustration, irritability and moodiness. I tried a lot of different doctors, at least five, all of them just wanted to talk to me for 10 minutes hand me a prescription and schedule my follow up appointment. Since I already had an ADHD diagnosis, none of them took the time to listen to me, they just wanted to treat my “disorder”. For 3 1/2 years I had completely given up on ADHD treatment, until one day I decided I was tired of living this way and admitted to myself that I couldn’t fix my “problems” on my own.
I was in a really bad place and desperate for someone to help me, I kept being told I was just depressed and handed a couple prescriptions, but I decided to give it another shot and found Dr. Walker. Since then my life my mood and my self-esteem has improved exponentially. He takes the time to talk to me, to listen and understand. I have never had a Doctor that had a passion for it and understood it on a personal level. Dr. Walker taught me that there’s nothing wrong with me, that our brains work differently, but different isn’t bad it’s only a problem if I allow it to go untreated letting my ADHD wreak havoc on my life.
Working from home would have been my worst nightmare before I met Dr. Walker. But because of him and his personalized treatment plan, I was recognized as the top performer at my company. I have never been a top performer at anything that required discipline organization and accountability. I am so thrilled with my experience I would recommend him to anyone, the difference he has made in my life is incredible and I am so thankful for it. He is a wonderful doctor because he’s passionate about what he does, helping people like us means something to him no one is just another patient. He may not except insurance( due to the BS Insurance billing regulations) but I really couldn’t careless because for the first time I am being treated like a person, not a statistic. Every penny I have spent on my treatment with him has been And investment in my future, i’m already seeing the return on my investment with the compliments and recognition I have received. I know that over the next couple of years the money I’ve spent will be returned tenfold because I am able to perform better at work and reach my true potential, all thanks to my wonderful doctor. If you are, or think you may be ADHD and your fed up with 10 minute appointments that don’t teach you anything, You need to call them and schedule your first appointment right now! I promise you will not regret it. Dr. Walker and his staff our kind and amazing and willing to work out payment plans with their patients which tells me they know what they’re doing is working and worth it. I am a success story and you can be too, all it takes is the right treatment plan, personalized to who you are. As far as I’m concerned this excess could not have been found anywhere else.

Since posting this and looking at other reviews I am absolutely shocked, These people either aren’t seeing the same doctor I am, or are not willing to do the work to help themselves. Yes it’s an investment, but it’s the best one I have ever made, I have already seen an increase in my income MORE than equivalent to the amount I have spent. Don’t be Swayed by the miserable individuals who aren’t willing to help themselves. As far as being “pumped full of medication” That’s BS. If you want to an ophthalmologist and were told you needed glasses would you accuse them of improper treatment? No. Just like a vision disorder ADHD also requires medical treatment. Trust me I’ve tried to treat it without medicationOr with very low doses of other non-amphetamine medications, it didn’t work. I won’t even take allergy medication or Tylenol Unless I feel like I’m dying. I believe a lot of our ailments can be cured with food and mental well-being, But not ADD
