El Rey del Pollo Asado

Just moved to the area and I love rotisserie chicken. Decided to try this place. I called and spoke with them first as I do not consume any pork products.

They were very helpful and polite. I needed up getting a 8 piece family meal for $27. My family loved the food. They include grilled onions and jalapeños which is a huge plus.

We didn’t try the beans because they are loaded with pork. But everything else we got was delicious.

Still sitting at the restaurant after eating one of the best steak burritos I've ever had! This place is delicious! And the real surprise is the rice and beans.. These are usually disposable parts of the meal, but they are so good. The beans are Not a mass of blended "brown", they are beans with bacon, and So Good. Same with the rice. And it is so FILLING. I can eat a lot of Mexican food, and this left me FULL. this place is awesome!

Nice little place I like to stop in for lunch or dinner on the way home from work. My favorite by far is the grilled chicken combo that includes rice, beans, grilled green onions and a drink. The chicken is cooked to perfection with the right amount of marinade/seasoning. The beans are more of a soup and is very good. Also included are a few tortillas that I like to mop up the juices from the chicken with... so delicious! Always looking forward to eating here!

We had trouble finding the menu online. Inside the restaurant was a QR code with the full menu.

The family dinner was outstanding. 8 pieces is perfect for 3-5 people. The prices were very reasonable.

Based on past reviews decided to give it a try for a Sunday. I will not deny my initial reluctance upon arrival. It was one of those converted closed down fast food stores. Just enough decorating was done to disguise the original chain owner to rebrand the storefront by a local owner. To compound my anxiety the order taker was not proficient in English. Fortunately someone who was helped out. Many personal pet peeves can be forgotten if the food speaks for itself. At this restaurant it certainly does. Fresh ingredients prepared and cooked with first rate quality. The cook displayed get care and undoubtedly have the ability for finesse. Will certainly make the effort to visit again.

Great 🐔 chicken! Not dry a bit moist, got 8-piece chicken that comes with 3 sides & also got 2 agua fresca drinks all for $25. Please come, hungry chicken lovers. 😋😍 You must order first your own food @ the cashier. I also tried a torta & quesadilla both of chicken they come with a side of rice & bean's.

I've eaten a lot of chicken all over the world, and this is some of the best I've ever had. Bought the 8 piece family dinner with rice beans and grilled onions. Leftovers the next day were still delicious, even after being microwaved. Can't say enough good things about el rey del pollo asado

Was parked across the street as a truck driver. Dont always get a chance to eat some decent Mexican food. As someone who does live south of the border, I yave yo say this place is the bomb
Had the steak taco plate. Taco were meaty, with plenty of onion and cilantro, rice tasty...but the frijoles puercos was amazing. Flavorful with a lot of chili and onion. If ever given the chance will stop by again

Have had the lunch specials 5 or 6 times now... Chicken Burrito is great meat is tender....their beans are the best around....no boring plain beans here... its like a soup with added meat bacon and peppers.. outstanding! Rice is tender.. prices are great! I can't wait to try a grilled chicken dinner. Thanks for everything

My son and I love the chicken. We get the whole chicken only without sides. He eats 80% of it and I get the rest.
Chicken is so flavorful. They do give you grilled onions and jalapeños. Also a full package of corn tortillas.

Great moist spicy chicken. Why anyone would eat at Taco Bell instead of this place is beyond me. The food is fresh and the staff are friendly.

2/2022 5* Never been in here. My daughter bought carry out for us. WOW! This was amazing. The chicken was cooked to perfection. Practically fell off the bones. Tortillas were great! Rice and beans. All yummy! Wanted to go in forever, the the flames on the restaurant outside always made me think it was spicy. I guess it means grilled. Oops! My bad all these years! No matter what though. We will be back!

I've lived in Palatine for years and this place is always my go-to spot for Pollo Asado. The food is always seasoned well and fresh. I ordered half chicken with rice and beans. Always includes grilled green onions with a grilled jalapeño and warm tortillas.
