My now ex-husband and I had separated and he was adamant about not hiring or wasting money on attorney’s fees and we drafted a marital settlement agreement. We separately had our signatures notarized and I filed the settlement agreement along with a Petition for Dissolution of Marriage. The day after signing the settlement agreement and Answer and Waiver, he moved to North Florida to live with his brother leaving me to make necessary repairs to our marital home and list, show, and sell the home. (Side note: the money used to purchase our marital home came from my premarital home I lived in for 15 years before I knew him). 3 months later he came back to remove a few cherry picked items 2 days before the closing date. My case was a very high conflict custody case. I went from not being able to see my children at all to seeing them every other weekend. Robert managed to do all this without going to trial. His office was always very communicative which was very important to me. I would get updates timely and reminders for certain things that were due from me. Robert heard and validated the things that were most important to me. He was honest about my chances in being successful in getting those things and promised to advocate for them even though it would not be easy. AND he did! I didn’t get the parenting that I set out for BUT with Robert's skill set I was able to compromise on the next best parenting plan for my family and it is one that am very happy with.

Robert advocated for the things that weren’t as important to me because HE knew they were important. He was able to compromise on a settlement that was beyond what I would have ever expected or asked for for myself. Without Robert, I would have sold myself very short.

Robert truly was a sound voice of reason from beginning to end. When he tells you not to worry, it’s his job and he will take care of it, he will. He did not let anyone walk all over me, he advocated for what was fair. Robert will tell you from the beginning he doesn’t want you to go broke through this process, he’s was very conscientious about making this as affordable as possible. His goal from the beginning was to settle in mediation and we did.

There are no winners in divorce and it’s really not a situation to gloat about but I walked away 10,000 percent confident that I made the right choice when I hired Robert and his firm (thank you Shelby and Sara for your hard work!) Being THAT confident in who you hire is what you want isn't it?
