Bake Chop

Great spot for an early lunch. There was a line outside before they opened and now I know why.

Stooped in for a coffee and ended up splitting a hand held called the “Cocky Joe”. It’s basically a cheese steak. Shaved steak with grilled onions and peppers and melted provolone on top with a little kick. Bread was nice a soft and chips on the side.

Service was great and venue had a nice vibe. There’s a couple of tables outside with shade.

The food is phenomenal! Great service. I was very impressed. This is literally a hidden gem. We will definitely be back. I think this is my new favorite place in DeLand.
Update: second visit to Bake Chop last night. The food was even better the second time. There should be a line out the door for this place.

Bake chop is an amazing little restaurant with unique eats and everything was delicious! I highly recommend the brie burger. They also had a pretty tasty wine and beer selection. Hunter was a fantastic server!

Arrived at 6:30pm on a Friday evening, and the restaurant was quite crowded! I grabbed the last available seat at the bar, and despite how crowded it was, I was able to get a water and place my order very quickly, food arrived faster than I was expecting, and it was absolutely delicious! The sandwich I ordered was called the Boulevard and it featured a grilled chicken breast on toasted ciabatta topped with herbed goat cheese, balsamic glaze, tomatoes, onions, and mixed greens. Flavors were outstanding all around, especially the herbed goat cheese, of which they applied a healthy amount! The mac and cheese was also outstanding and is just the way I like it! You can tell they use a rich, well-spiced cheese sauce AND regular melted cheese, so it had the creaminess from the sauce, but also a legitimate cheese pull in every bite from the melted cheddar! A very well run establishment with exceptional food!

Wow, just delicious. We had the Cocky Joe with onion rings. The rings were melt in your mouth, wonderful morsels of fried heaven. The sandwich was equally as wonderful. The meat was tender and perfect, vegetables were clearly fresh and tasty. The picture does not do this sandwich justice. We also had the Bluto chicken sandwich with a watermelon feta salad. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. Unfortunately, it was just a little too fried, and the breading was a bit too hard. But, no worries, the watermelon salad was so flavorful and fresh, was just delightful. We drove about an hour to eat here and were not disappointed. It is a little pricey for a sandwich, but the quality is evident. Will definitely come back, and for sure will get the cocky Joe.

We absolutely love this place ❤ when we visit Florida we eat here before we go back home!! The food is delicious. Customer service is great also. They have vegan options.

This place was fantastic! The Brie Burger was out of this world. The salad was full of dark greens, fresh and flavorful! Hunter never let our drinks run out! Just great food and service.

One of my favorite restaurants to go to when I'm in Downtown DeLand. The food is delicious. The place has a great vibe. The staff is awesome, and the cooks will talk and joke with you if you sit at the bar. Overall a great experience.

The caramel macchiato is pretty good but the brunch bowl is absolutely amazing!!! Wish we had a place like this in MI

Finally stopped in to try this place for lunch today. I had the tempeh sandwich and my husband had the bean burger. Good vegetarian and vegan options. We really liked the food and atmosphere and the service was great. Two thumbs up!

Definitely a top spot here in downtown Deland, we loved this place, their food is so fresh and the creations are very special, and artesian, some of the dishes we had:
Allicin wonderland burger, who's Wanda starter plate, the left hander with their home made vegetarian burger, side salad with the lemon vinaigrette was excellent.
Brianna our server was amazing and so special, she made great recommendations of the menu and places near by, she is by far the best Server I ever had, & I've been to many many restaurants from South florida to Europe.
Brianna besides having my daughters name has the most beautiful blue eyes, so charming and welcoming, she is definitely an asset to this awesome place.
this restaurant is super casual & nice atmosphere. Rainbows and unicorns are welcome🌈🦄

One of my favorite places to eat in Downtown DeLand, the food is consistently good, and the atmosphere is always cheery. It's within walking distance of a lot of good stores, so it's nice to stop by and have lunch while you're out on the town

The food was very good and the guys said it was the best burger they had both ever had with very good quality beef.
I wrapped my fried plantains to go in what I thought was paper napkin but now I cannot eat them because they have what look like plastic fibres all over them? Now I need to throw them in the bin. 😭 Very sad!
Please use natural, biodegradable materials?

Bakechop is probably one of my favorite places to eat in Deland. I love trying all the new specials they offer, and I have never been dissapointed with my order. The service is also always top tier.

Been living in the area since 1989. I have heard many times how good this place is. Tonight we finally went to Bake Chop. The atmosphere is warm and intimate and a bit rustic. There are about 20 seats inside and 20 in the breezeway. Our server Ashlyn was great. I started with a Latte and my wife had Hibiscus tea. The Latte was coffee cafe quality good to the last drop.
We ordered the
BOULEVARD: 16
grilled chicken breast, herbed goat cheese, balsamic glaze, red onion, tomato, mixed greens on ciabatta, and tomato bisque soup.
T-BONE STEAK / PORTERHOUSE: 38 / 42 grilled to order with a compound bone marrow butter and choice of any two sides (I orderedHoney Mustard Brussels and Local Squash Sauté)
Both were very delicious. We were extremely please. The grilled chicken was tender and moist and very flavorful. The soup was as it should be. Delicious! The T-Bone was cooked perfectly, tender and full flavored. The two sides were incredible.
Oh yeah! The lemon blueberry loaf was delicious and moist. The chocolate and peanut butter cheese cake was amazing.
This place is a gem and worth the visit again and again. Don’t miss this place!!!

Nice server and the outdoor seating is dog-friendly. Eat More Chickpeas was a really nice appetizer especially if you want something vegan. The TLT was a good choice and the bean salad as a side is delicious. I got the Allicin Wonderland burger and for all you juicy burger lovers, this is the one. The regular fries are pretty good, crisp outside with an almost mashed potato soft inside. They were a bit lacking in salt for me but that's all I can really critique!
On the dessert menu there were unfortunately no vegan options but we were told sometimes there will be some in the fall! Gluten free customers you have an option though so take advantage! I'd come back

The food alone is to die for! Nice little restaurant in the heart of downtown Deland. I promise you, you will not regret it.

Stopped in here with four people for lunch. Have to go into blue Springs Park. We all ordered different meals and everything was fabulous. Staff and cooks all very friendly. A great place to stop on eat folks aren’t really vegan, but would like to eat out of the box for a change Grilled chicken sandwiche was cooked perfectly.

What a great experience. Our server Bree was amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. It was a very busy night for them, but you wouldn't know it. All staff worked like a well tuned machine. The food was Awesome, so thanks to the kitchen staff as well. We started with the crispy Brussel sprouts, and what an amazing treat they were. Crispy and coated in a delicious house honey mustard. I had the Allicin Wonderland burger, it was perfect. Amazing flavor, and cooked just right. My wife had the Boulevard sandwich, a chicken sandwich bursting with flavor. We finished with a Latte and an amazing Creme Brule. We will be going back.
