Decatur Package Store

I went here looking for specialty bottles, and I was surprised that they had some good bottles for a good price. Not everything is the best price, for examples some Rums were more expensive than my local store. However, herb who I assume is the owner has selected some interesting picks for sub 50 dollars which I think is excellent.

Good liquor store in Decatur, near North Decatur Plaza. They have plenty of options, don't expect too much but decent options. Pretty good range of bourbons but quite limited for scotch. Prices are also competitive. People are very receptive. Recommended.

Staff is knowledgeable and helpful both over the phone and in person. Great selection of small vineyard wines and they have the ability to special order individual bottles. One of my go-to places for a great bottle of wine at great price points!

First time in here as many times as I have passed it going to and from the VA. Great selection and prices they didn't have what I was looking for ...

DPS has a decent-sized and high quality selection of liquors. The beer selection is small compared to mega liquor stores, and even some grocery stores; but, what they offer at DPS is solid, nonetheless. The staff is very knowledgeable about their products. I like shopping here more than the mega stores, even if they don't have all of the selection that those big stores offer.

The best selection and the most helpful employees around! They have helped me locate rare bottles, provided kegs for events, and always take their time to answer any and all questions I might have. At my house, we keep a nicely stocked bar and beer fridge, all of it comes from Decatur Package. Their customer service is simply exemplary.

The best customer service in Decatur--and a rich inventory of products that the big box stores can't match--even though they have more shelf space. I bought a suet cage and suet cakes here, both at good prices, and have been attracting woodpeckers and nuthatches ever since!

Love this place. The bourbon and beer selection is stellar. The wine suggestions are on point. And the staff is always friendly and able to help you with more rare requests... They also do bulk orders with very reasonable pricing.

Love this little package store. They carry a surprisingly wide variety of liquors and wines, including a semi-uncommon gin I like. Staff has always been nice and the parking lot feels safe and is well lit.

Smaller selection than the big box stores but curated, so you get a lot of great options on the shelves. Want to make some more esoteric cocktails, or like bitters? Come here!

I've been a customer of DPS for many years, and they have always had excellent service, decent prices and a knowledgeable, friendly staff. What really blew me away recently is how they're handling safety for customers and employees during the COVID-19 Pandemic. I had a hankering for a Pimm's Cup so I made a stop on my supply run and was happy to see the precautions they've taken. Employees were wearing masks properly and had gloves on. Customers are asked to wait outside the store and tell a clerk what they'd like to buy. Payment is handled very well, as they have signs up asking customers not to touch the card reader and to only touch our cards. The clerk holds the card reader on a table at the door and you just insert your card and it's done! Then the clerk sanitizes the table and the card reader for the next customer. Very well done! It's phenomenal to see a business taking these extra precautions to protect their employees and customers.

I always feel welcomed and the staff is so helpful. If they know your tastes, they will stick it and if they don't have it, give you good alternatives. Though they maybe a few cents more expensive, I say it's worth it. Good people, good selection, good location.

I went to this location for the first time today, and I can say that from here on Decatur Package Store will be my one and only stop. When I walked in and looked around, someone approached me and asked if I needed any help finding something. Not only did I find what I was looking for, a good stout beer, but I was sold on a few other things too. Their store might seem small on the outside at first, but their shelves are full of all sorts of stuff. Whether its the usual liquor, or local brewed beers, or microbrews and other beers you won't find anywhere else... this is the place to be. Management and staff are kind without being badgering, and that alone makes me want to come back. Glad its not too far from home!

Love it here! Always great suggestions and plenty of interesting beer/wine stocked. I would recommend going out of your way to make this your new wine shop staple.
