I brought my MacBook Pro in because the keyboard and trackpad weren’t working. Charles and the other employees I worked with were so helpful and nice. They ran diagnostics and replaced the logic board. When that didn’t fix it, they replaced the top case and that worked. They kept me updated through the whole process. I was really happy with the level of service I received from them and I will definitely reach out to them if I need computer help in the future!

The folks at Onyx Consulting in Decatur are total pros! I am visiting from out of town, and had a hairline crack in my screen. I needed a quick turnaround and wanted it repaired by an Apple certified store, and the team in Decatur went above and beyond. I dropped my MacBook Air off at 4:30 PM and within one hour, the screen had been replaced, and I was up and running again. The fee charged for expedited service was totally reasonable, and I am thrilled with how it all turned out. Thanks!

Earlier this spring my hard drive got fried on my Macbook Air and I spent the following months trying to find a tech that would be able to retrieve the information from it. Let me just say after months of one disappointing appointment after the other I FOUND ONYX. I went in today and met with Charles and he quickly resolved my issue in less than five minutes. Very professional and superior customer service. I was almost in tears because he has no idea what retrieving that document means to me, or maybe he did....Anyway, don't waste your time going anywhere else ONYX is simply the best.....

I woke up to a strange problem with my laptop -- further complicated by the fact that I had to travel later that day. I brought my computer to Onyx and the gentleman at the desk kindly took time to thoroughly inspect it. He also cleaned it -- at no charge! I really appreciate this kindness as it really helped calm my nerves, and if I didn't have travel that day, I would have left it with them for further review. Highly recommended!

I'm never taking my tech anywhere else! I had a great experience with Onyx. I had spilled water all over my laptop and was incredibly stressed all day, but the staff member who helped me (I think his name is Jake) was so helpful and patient in answering all my questions.

He looked at my laptop and checked to see if my data had been corrupted, then advised me for what the best course of action would be. He was transparent about the costs of replacing/fixing and even gave me some good recommendations for where to buy a new laptop. I hope I won't have any more tech issues in the future, but if I do, I'll certainly be back!

Over the past 15 years, I've only gone to Onyx if I had any issues with my Macs. After I installed a new battery in my 2015 MacBook, it would simply not power up. I took it to Onyx today. I forgot to get his name but the rep met me as soon as I walked in and within minutes had my computer powering back up. It was a simple PRAM reset (I assumed because it wasn't powering on that I couldn't do a PRAM reset). He could had easily written up an order, charged me a diagnosis fee, and whatever other costs but he did none of that. As literally an act of "service," he fixed my vintage Mac in minutes and didn't charge me a thing.

I was attended by Jenni, a super competent worker that was really efficient in fixing my laptop. Within less than half an hour she removed something that was stuck in the charger entrance that prevented me to charge it. The price she charged me was fair too. Thank you Jenni.

Computer troubles, whether affecting a beloved gaming rig or a vital work computer, are some of the most unpleasant technology troubles one can have. It is for this reason that I was so appreciative of the friendly assistance and exceptional service offered by Onyx Consulting.

Immediately upon arrival, I was greeted by the general manager, who listened attentively as I explained my issues and made recommendations and suggestions based on what I had told him. He gave his frank assessment and made it very clear what the likely timeline and potential costs or issues for the repair might be. He was completely upfront and honest from start to finish.

I was very happy to learn that Onyx offers an expedited service fee, in exchange for which one is guaranteed that a technician will begin diagnosing the computer within two hours, although it usually happens even faster: I was fortunate enough to have a technician be able to look at my computer within about 10 minutes. This service only means that diagnostic work will begin as soon as possible, but it was well worth the cost to have an idea of what the problem was as soon as possible.

The technician who handled my actual evaluation and repair was exceptional. He kept me informed on every step of the process and ensured that I was aware of the work he was doing. He was fastidious and attentive to every detail, ensuring that he knew exactly what problems I was having so that he could fix them. He also offered suggestions for the future and things to keep in mind moving forward.

By bringing my computer in early in the morning and taking advantage of the expedited diagnostic fee, I was actually able to get my computer back that same day. Obviously this sort of timely turn around isn't possible for all problems, but I was extremely impressed by the efficiency displayed by Onyx and the quality of the work they did.

I highly recommend Onyx Consulting for all of your PC or Mac needs. My issue was for a personal device, but if I needed regular computer service as a business owner, I would highly consider Onyx Consulting. They offer superlative service and courteous attention at extremely fair prices.

I brought in my laptop ready to pay hundreds for what I thought was a major problem. Charles took a quick look and told me that he could probably fix it in minutes… and he did!!!! I am extremely pleased with the customer service and the swift workmanship. I highly recommend this place.

The technicians at Onyx Consulting are professional, courteous, and give expert advice. I walked in today with a complicated laptop battery repair issue that was incorrectly diagnosed at the Apple Store, and a technician walked me through all of my options so I was able to make the best decision based on my budget and needs. The environment is quiet, clean, and customer friendly. I highly recommend Onyx Consulting to anyone hoping to avoid the hectic atmosphere of the Apple Store and speak in-person with kind and knowledgeable computer repair experts.

Well these guys have never been able to fix anything that I've brought to them. So what's with the 5 stars?!?! Here are a few things they have done:
1. Answered my question over the phone when I've called.
2. Taken care of me in the store in a polite and professional manner.
3. Communicated the issue in a way that I could understand.
4. They've always done what they say they would do.
5. Followed up in a timely manner.

Here's the thing, I'm not a computer guru but I do know how to Google and I'm brave enough to follow some instructions. By the time I reach out to Onyx, I've already googled and reached out to the hardware customer service options. When that doesn't resolve the issue, I bring my computers in. They've never been able to repair my issues but they have taken care of the warranty claims (where applicable) and I've always left feeling like I understood what the issue was and could make an educated decision on how to proceed. FYI - both times were failed mother boards and both times I had to get the item repaired by the manufacturer. I hope to never, ever have to deal with these folks again but when I have unresolved computer issues, I won't hesitate to do just that.

I had an issue with my Mac laptop that I was afraid was going to be an expensive repair. I walked into Onyx and they opened up my computer and made an easy fix in minutes, and didn't charge me! It was a huge relief and I'm so thankful for their knowledge and kindness! I'll be back :)

My MacBook Air 11' randomly crashed and would not turn back on. I took it to the Genius bar and was told that they could send it back to Apple and I would have a fixed one in 3-5 days but with all of my data lost. I took it to Onyx to try to get my data off of it and because it was only 4 months old, there was no adapter to retrieve my data without the computer working. These guys went above and beyond to get my computer fixed while saving all of my data and did so very quickly! I would recommend them to absolutely anyone, as they do a great job while providing excellent customer service!

Love having these guys in Decatur. Have had great experiences over many years, and just walking out after just 5 minutes since my “T” key was broken on Macbook pro. They replaced the key free of charge, which is one of many reasons I’ll continue to be a lifelong customer.

I brought in my 6-year-old laptop a few days ago and feared it might be beyond repair. They not only repaired it and completely restored all of my data, it's running better than it has in quite some time. I live in Roswell, but Onyx has worked on my machines for years and it's 100% worth the drive to Decatur - I will ONLY trust Onyx to work on my Apple products. Great work yet again!!!

I cannot rave enough about this place! I brought in my computer to have the battery replaced/trackpad fixed. They saw some other issues with my computer, issues they knew that Apple could fix, free of charge. So that’s what happened. I basically got my computer refreshed, looking and working like it’s brand new for the cost of a new battery. I know that won’t be the case for everyone, but it’s really rare to have a company look out for its customers nowadays. I work in the film industry and I’ll be making sure that everyone I know takes their Macs to Onyx Consulting!
