Collard Green Cafe

Was given a recommendation to try this restaurant and it did not disappoint. I ordered the fried whiting, collards, black eyed peas and corn bread. The fish was delicious and cooked with a flaky flavorful batter. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We even got to meet the owner and had a delightful conversation with him. This establishment is very focused on customer service and providing quality tasting soul food. This place is a must try if you are in the area.

This was my first time visit. The tin we walked in, we received a warm and friendly welcome from the cashier and the cook! We arrived right at noon, and the cafe opened at 11. The steam tables were very clean and appealing, and the selections were plentiful. Fried, baked, grilled meat choices. The vegetables were also appetizing. 👌 We dined in, and everyone in our party enjoyed our meals to the fullest 😋. As I stated, we arrived during lunch time, and before we knew it, they were put out the dinner menu items. So that shows that we enjoyed the atmosphere and the servers were very nice. The bathroom was very clean. The advertisement on the radio didn't lie😋👌🤣. It was worth the drive.

I got the turkey wings on rice with gravy, collards (duh), and stewed okra. Cannot express how delicious this was.

Very thankful to the staff for helping me choose - everything looked so good I was paralyzed by choice. Will be back to try more.

I was having a holiday luncheon for my employees and had a menu in mind. I have never been here and heard mixed reviews so I was very skeptical. I had never eaten here but knew I needed to make a decision fast since it was last minute.

I called right at 24 hours before I needed to pick up the order and spoke with Alema. She was nice and patient with me. She confirmed they would be able to do it and have it ready right at 11am (the time they opened). Needless to say, I got there at 10:57am and they opened the doors promptly at 11am. The service from EVERYONE including the owner James, exceeded my expectations. The food was hot and ready to serve. My employees love it and I was not disappointed. I was so happy that I forgot to take pictures but… I ordered the cabbage, Mac and cheese, and green beans. The beans were very bland and could use seasoning or more seasoning. Other than that, everything was delicious. I do recommend and will be back.

First time visiting. Got the oxtails plate. It was really good. I was craving for a holiday meal. Collard greens and Mac and cheese. Now Im getting sleepy because im so full. 🛌 I plan to return to this place because it’s not too far from my home. Try this place out if you’re nearby and don’t want to cook. They are pretty good 👍🏾 🏠

Similar to cafeteria style, we were able to check out how the food looked before ordering. I got a large portion of meat and tasty veggies. The employees are friendly and the atmosphere is good. We chose to dine-in but they seems to have a large carryout client.

Believe it or not, it’s hard to find really good soul food in Atlanta but there food is seasoned perfectly. That fried chicken is some of the best I had. Collards - perfect! The ONLY thing I would change is the mac and cheese could be baked a little longer. I like mine kinda dry. Other than that this place is highly recommended. And the staff is so nice. They give you a nice greeting when you walk through the door which immediately puts a smile on your face 😊

Delectable. Delicious. Diversifiably DIVINE! Palate pleasing from the succulent Turkey wings to the well-seasoned cabbage, which could easily invoke a name change "Cabbage Cafe 😋 " Yes, to the collard greens as well, and we were greeted with the best energy that later carried over into the food. EVERYTHING tasted like home-- for me, that means made with LOVE ❤

Man man man when I say top notch I ain’t lying if you looking for some REAL southern hospitality collard green cafe is where you need to be… from the food to the atmosphere it reminded me of spending Sundays at grandmas house. I was listening to the radio 102.9 fm Niecey Shaw was like check them out if you’re in the area. So, I did. I’m glad that I decided to try them out. The food was fresh and NOT overly salty !!! 🙌🏾🔥 I actually tasted the food. It was clean, refreshing, and a vibe inside. I’ll definitely be back there again😊

Five stars for the collard greens cafe from the customer service to the food! We took our 93 year old grandmother who has been wanting to come after seeing the billboards and hearing the commercials! She enjoyed it and we did too! The atmosphere is extremely clean and is accompanied by old school music. My grandmother had the oxtail plate as well as the meat loaf. We wanted her to taste a little bit of everything and be able to take some food home. We had the veggies plates. Our food was plated by the owner and another staff member. We also had a a chance to meet the other staff/cooks such as Jimmy who was thrilled we enjoyed our food! As stated earlier, all of the staff were kind and it was extremely evident that they enjoy working there and working together as they all walked in with smiles and greetings! Way to go Collard Green Cafe! Great Business, great fresh food, and great customer service!!! A triple threat in the best way!!! Oh and I can't forget, grandmother approved!!!!

My family was in town and my mother wanted some collard greens without having to cook them in the kitchen. I found this restaurant online. It was a first come first serve on Sunday (no reservations). We decided to travel about 30 minutes to check out this place and we were not disappointed. The place was packed and the food was hot and fresh. I am a fish lover so I got the salmon, side of collards, cabbage, and Mac and cheese. My family reach combined got the smothered turkey wings, candied yams, Mac and cheese, collards, shrimp and grits, rice and gravy. For good measure my mother actually ordered 2 meals. One for lunch and one for dinner and so very thankful she did. For those with a sweet tooth, we also picked up some banana pudding and slice of pound cake. The pound cake did not stand a chance. The food was well seasoned and checked all the boxes for down home cooking. Now don't let me get started on that cornbread!!!! Although the place was slammed, the staff was very friendly especially the young lady at the register. We will definitely be back soon!!!!

I took my family here for some soul food for Sunday Dinner. The food was delicious. The only reason that I gave atmosphere a 4 is because it was hot, but it kinda gave you that nostalgic feeling of childhood, so that kinda fit the atmosphere. The staff was friendly and the checkout counter is quick. We ordered almost everything on the menu. Literally. The sweet potatoes and short ribs were my faves though.

So I have been hearing about this place on the radio station so I decided to go check it out. So when I went in about 7:20 it closes at 8 so I made it in time when I walked in the lady who I'm assuming is the manager was very nice had a beautiful soul inside and out she greeting everyone with a smile and a big welcome . Even though it was closing time everything still looked fresh and good so I decided to get the turkey wings and collard greens and black eye peas and they even had pigs feet which I got that too lol everything was good . I just want to say you got to go over there the food is so good ..

Yall know when I do my reviews I'm going to tell yall the truth. First, let me apologize for not posting sooner. I can't get enough of this food! 😍 I have visited maybe 5-6 times, and they have not disappointed me. I have nothing but good things to say about this place and the staff. I heard about this place from a friend so I decided to give it a shot. Y’all!!!! When I first walked in I was welcomed by the staff and the owner. Great customer service! Now to the food. A guy with hazel looking eyes fixed my plate. He was nice and patient with helping me chose. Thank you sir! So I ended up getting the meatloaf with greens and dressing. It was seasoned good and the food was fresh. I will definitely be back to visit. I already told my friends and family. To the owner and staff, keep up the good work. You all be working hard and it shows! May God continue to bless this business.

Was looking for a soul food place And this is it. Food is excellent. Pork chops and chicken is crispy, not greasy, and season is amazing. Customer service is great. The owner introduced himself and was very personable. You can not go wrong with this restaurant and they have a A rating.

Omg! I just got like 3 plates of food and NOTHING disappointed!! From walking in you can feel like your at a family cook out 😀 I think the lady with the beautiful hair might be the owner. She is legit so sweet!!! Everybody were so amazing 100/10 will be back!!

This was my first vist at CGC, I was greeted with a vibrant welcome by the young lady at the register (sorry I didnt get your name, but you are the one with the beautiful Afro/Puffs and amazing personality). The gentlemen on the food line were very friendly/professional greeting everyone with hello and a smile. The hot food items look very appealing, not all of the menu items are on the food line, they are made to order, example the Fried Fish I ordered. The food was a little salty yet edible. I feel the prices are slightly higher than other places however, I was able to get 3 servings from my Spaghetti plate I ordered, I feel you get what you pay for, the proportions are large, I wouldnt be able to buy groceries and cook this same meal for what I paid for it nor get the amount of food at the fast food eateries in the area. I went back to CGC within days of my first visit, same warm greeting, I tried the Beef Short Ribs, Mac & Cheese, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, Corn Bread muffins the meal was delicious. I met the Owner who was sitting in the Dining Room, he was VERY nice thanking customers for eating at his establishment, I told him I returned within days of my initial visit and that the previous meal was somewhat on the salty side, yet edible (of course everyone's taste is different) He apologized and ensured me they would be more mindful of that when they use multiple seasoning containing sodium. I will say the meal I purchased on the 2nd visit was not salty, it was very good. This cafe is a great addition to the Tucker area, for fresh home cooked meals, they have something for everyone including Salads, Baked Chicken, Turkey etc. They have desserts however, I haven't tried any of them, I will on my next visit! Thanks for bringing a new, better experience to Tucker!

My first visit today and I ordered the 2 Piece Fried Catfish Lunch with Collard Greens & Broccoli Cheese Rice and all the food is cooked to absolute perfection and so delicious! It is obvious of the care and love that goes into food! What a special Soul Food Restaurant:)
