Mid-City Library

Beautiful mid-century building, built in 1963 by architects Curtis & Davis as headquarters for the Automotive Life Insurance Company, converted in 2016 into the Mid-City Library. The building's style is reminiscent of Minoru Yamasaki's Pacific Science Center in Seattle from 1962. Note the reflecting pool in front and the ceremonial central entrance plus the covered access ways for cars on both sides of the building.

This is a small location but it is quiet and the staff is super polite! I had a smooth experience signing up and Cathy did a great job of explaining all the resources that come with the library card. I will be making this a regular stop for studying.

This is a wonderful smaller library. The kid’s room is warm and inviting with lots of natural light.

What a stately yet small library! The staff was very kind and helpful in my research for Louisiana foods and plants. They even offered to order books that aren't normally in stock at this branch.

The seed library was well-stocked and beautifully organized in an old card catalogue box and photo album.

You can take out 6 packets every 6 months with your Library Card and increase that number when you donate seeds, etc.

I have not frequented in library in a while. Very helpful & respectful staff. Nice facility. Their internet is pretty decent. Great place to print some docs or browse the web.

Everytime I visit Midcity Library, I needs Assistance with the computer and printing. I get assisting immediately, they are very professional and eager to help you to complete your Task. Thanks A Bunch !!!

Beautiful addition to the City right on the way to City Park and NOMA. Professional and welcoming staff. Able to get a guest day pass for internet use. Not far from India House! Beautiful glass front looking out on Canal street.

Very helpful librarians here! Great city services offered too, and the ability to print here for a small fee is valuable. Great kids books, too!
