I call Ruth my "magic PT lady." She has fixed me several times. When I was pregnant my back went out and after our appointment I was able to walk and bend over again. Later in my pregnancy I had incredible should pain that I couldn't explain. She was able to ease it before I left the appointment. I also saw her after a car wreck left me feeling super wonky. She is very intuitive and can connect the "problem dots" on the body very quickly. I recommend her to all of my friends that have a "mystery pain" because I know she'll be able to figure it out and fix it!

Ruth is an incredibly intuitive and hollistic healer whose work changed my life. I’d been convinced my chronic pain after injury would be with me forever after YEARS of physical therapy, chiropractic, and massage failed to help. In just a few sessions with Ruth I saw incredible and lasting results. She’s a fantastic listener and let’s your body and energy guide the work each session. Can’t recommend her enough!!!

Ruth Elliot is the most effective PT I have ever been to. She is a master of the human body system's anatomy and the physics. She blends together a multitude of techniques and modalities to deliver pain relief, increased range of motion, and ultimately a higher quality of life. From head to foot, she is my go-to professional for all sprains, aches, and tightness. She has my total and complete trust. I am I infinitely thankful for her and her work.

Where intuition, heart, and anatomical knowledge beautifully meet. I've seen Ruth three times now, and each session has been profound. I've had a history of tension, anxiety, gut problems, and an unbalanced sacrum for YEARS and Ruth has been the most effective bodyworker I've seen yet to help me integrate true results.

I began my journey with Ruth by sending an email describing my less than normal issues with light postpartum bladder leakage. I mentioned I had broken my ankle at the end of my pregnancy, and received a quick reply that said she believed my leg and postpartum bladder issues were related. I was immediately intrigued and booked the first appointment I could get into. While I waited for a first appointment, I attended Save the vagina and found it to be a wealth of information presented in an engaging manner. I have been working with Ruth almost a year. We are slowly uncovering the layers of the onion of my chronic and acute issues. She looks at the body as an interconnected system, and is very thorough at every appointment. She uses a broad range of complementary therapies to help address each issue we encounter. From cupping to osteopathic techniques and many other therapies, she patiently and expertly addresses each issue as we encounter it. She is amazing at understanding the body and asking questions to determine what she needs to do. I have had back issues lately, and I know that when I leave her office I will leave feeling much better and well equipped with exercises, stretches and strategies to use at home so I can continue doing life with an active toddler. I would and do highly recommend Ruth for any of your PT needs. She is amazing!

I showed up at Asheville Holistic Physical Therapy very pregnant and in a lot of pain - I could barely walk. Within two weeks I was in such a better place and Kerry helped me understand my pelvic floor to better prepare for giving birth. All women should see her before pushing a baby out! It was so informative, gentle, and encouraging. A few months after the baby was born I was experiencing significant pelvic pain and she helped me release tension in my pelvis as well as giving me homework to get myself up and running again. I'm incredibly grateful and would never go through a pregnancy again without PT.

Kerry is very knowledgeable, empathetic, and held a safe space during my pelvic pt session. She ensured I was comfortable and helped me feel empowered throughout the process. I appreciated her willingness to answer my questions and the caring ways she checked in throughout the session to see where I was at as well as giving helpful information on anatomy. Kerry makes the experience feel like a collaboration. I am already seeing improvement and feel excited to continue with her!

Ruth is an incredible practitioner. Her wisdom, intelligence, intuitive nature and gentle pace is quite the combination for healing the body from the inside. I trust her and feel transformed in deeply profound ways after having had 3 sessions so far. I appreciate her "homework" and the way that she integrates her knowledge with my knowledge for optimal results. The energetic work we've done is extremely powerful I feel it working long after the sessions are over. Thank you Ruth - you are a gem!

The most amazing healing experience I have had! After an emergency appendectomy and 10 months postpartum, I had severe pelvic pain that was unexplained by doctors. After two sessions with Kerry, it was completely gone. Kind, compassionate, knowledgeable and comforting, I would recommend Asheville Holistic Physical Therapy to all women!

I recently took Ruth's "Saving Your Vagina" Workshop, and it was amazing! I've been wanting to do this for some time and am so glad I finally got to do it. Ruth is unbelievably knowledgeable about pelvic floor health and really knows her stuff! After just spending an hour with Ruth, I could see how passionate she is about women's health. I learned so much that I can now relay to my own clients and class participants. I will definitely take this workshop again!

I attended the "Save your Vagina" class with Ruth and thought it was awesome. It was a great mix of education/self-awareness learning and tools/exercises to address your identified pelvic floor issues. I have also started going to Ruth for pelvic discomfort in my third-trimester of pregnancy and after only a couple of sessions have noticed a difference in my pain and discomfort as well as am learning better self-awareness which I think will be very helpful for a satisfying labor/delivery. Definitely recommend AHT.

Kerry was attentive and thorough. I had gone to another physical therapist, who only prescribed exercises for me, and I received absolutely no benefit from it. Kerry had the knowledge and expertise to figure where the problem was coming from and use manual techniques to relieve some of the pain in the first session. I felt she cared about my issue, and was personable yet professional. I am definitely going to continue working with her.

Ruth has an amazing gift of connection and healing the physical, emotional, and spiritual body. I felt an immediate sense of comfort talking to her from the first holistic pelvic care session as well as the guidance I received from our akashic integration session. Her guidance is easily comprehended and relatable. I am grateful for the knowledge and support she has shared with me and would highly recommend her.

I first discovered pelvic floor therapy after the birth of my first son. I sought help due to the third degree tear I experienced during labor. Throughout my pregnancy I also experienced hip and low back pain, as well significant rib pain. I had been told by my OBGYN that it was just all part of being pregnant and “pregnancy is hard.”

During my most recent pregnancy I decided that I’d like to seek pelvic floor therapy primarily for preventative reasons- to raise awareness of my pelvic floor, to learn to relax my pelvic floor, and to strengthen hips, back, etc. to mitigate or stave off the pain I felt last time. I got connected with Kerry and can’t even put into words (but I’ll try anyway 😀) how thankful I am for the tools she provided. First and foremost, she helped to instill hope that I could have a less painful pregnancy and that a more empowered experience was possible. We agreed that just “getting through” was not the goal.

One of the things I like best about Kerry is how thoroughly she assessed each problem area, both through questions and through movement. I always felt like she was really listening to my responses to her questions and treating them as valid data points to help solve the problem. She was also very good about setting up the session, checking in with what I’d like to accomplish that day. She assigned relevant homework and was considerate about how much might be reasonable given my time constraints and just my general life context. Additionally, Kerry is an incredibly kind and positive presence. This was very apparent during my initial pelvic floor exam with Kerry, as she followed my cues, checked in with my comfort level, and went slowly. Last, Kerry taught me so much about my body. My awareness has significantly improved, as well as my ability to manage issues before they become significant.

I experienced at least 50% less pain this pregnancy. I was able to continue hiking and doing yoga for the entirety of my pregnancy. I felt much more empowered around reducing my pain when I had it. I also had minimal tearing during my delivery. In part, this was due to being able to actively relax my pelvic floor during a contraction. This was definitely a skill I learned from Kerry! I wish pelvic floor therapy/physical therapy was an automatic referral during and after pregnancy.

Asheville Holistic PT and Kerry have been amazing in helping me through my pregnancy and preparing for birth. I started seeing Kerry at around 20 weeks pregnant and found her support so valuable in addressing the various aches and pains of pregnancy and in learning about and working with my pelvic floor. With her support I learned how important those muscles are to the stability and strength of so many other parts of my body and, for the first time, learned how to work with them consciously and constructively. I came back to the exercises I’d learned with Kerry during labor and found them to be really helpful.

I highly recommend any pregnant or postpartum person to work with Kerry. It was a game changer!

I have gotten a great deal and a great variety of body work over the years, and pelvic floor physical therapy is transformative and deeply healing in a very unique way. Kerry Tobin is remarkable in her capacity to hold space for that tranformative healing in a safe and gentle, but powerful way. I recommend that anyone with pelvic, belly, or back pain of any sort add Kerry to their healthcare team!

I had been in a lot of pain with an undiagnosed abdominal muscle injury. Kerry was able to make a huge difference after just one session! Asheville Holoistic PT has a super comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. I’d also highly recommend to anyone with any pregnancy issues, as I am 8 months pregnant currently. Kerry is very knowledgeable about some of the common issues that can effect women during this time.
