Staff was most helpful and were able to order a pair of work boots for my grandson. Narrow sizes in men's shoes/boots are definitely not a commonly stocked item in any shoe store, and not everyone will custom order them. Catawba Shoe Store was spot on with their customer service, and my family will be return customers.

A handful of options that could be considered dress shoes, but not a wide selection of actual dress shoes which is why I visited and what it said when Googled.

Great selection ! I have problems with my left foot; no arch and arthritis but I have a farm and really needed something that was comfortable,warm, and to protect my foot from the goats and pigs stepping on me ! After trying on a whole bunch of boots, we finally found one that fits the bill! My feet are now happy and so am I👍

This is my favorite shoe store in North Carolina for men’s work shoes or any other casual shoes for that matter. My wife has also found casual outdoor shoes she likes. The staff is dedicated to getting the right shoe for your foot. Their selection of sizes is amazing— wide sizes, larger sizes. A great selection of many higher quality brands including Keen assembled in USA steel toe shoes. They also carry Aetrex insoles and their prices are far lower than online. I hadn’t tried Aetrex insoles in years but the salesman guided me to try them again. Now the Aetrex l2200 insoles are in all my shoes and my feet have never felt better. Relative to some reviews complaining about returns, it’s possible many of these people have never owned a small business. Returning a commodity item at a large national chain store isn’t the same as returning a specialty item to a family owned store that provides tons of service. You will never get the service at a large store that you will get at Catawba shoe— the staff, skills, customer focus, and inventory just isn’t there to make sure your purchase is right— those stores have to eat the cost of a return because they provide no service. Take advantage of the service at this store take the time to be sure your shoes are right before buying including understanding warranty etc if needed— the folks at Catawba shoe store have always taken the time with me needed to assure that I have a good fit. It’s time to support small businesses like this— they are the only ones that can supply the service and selection locally. I In the pictures are a few examples of the shoes I have bought here excluding my wife’s shoes. Keen steel toe shoes, Keen work boots, and oboz sandals. All are a perfect fit and have been very comfortable. Prices are fair and competitive especially given the high level of service and selection at the store.

I go there once a year and always greeted like I was there yesterday. Nice friendly environment. Recommend highly!!!!! These are safety shoes they are very comfortable and lite.

Super friendly staff who's always willing to help you find the right shoe/boot/insole. As well as giving you tips to keep your boots and feet in good shape. The owner is a really cool guy and their prices are very reasonable!

My son went to get him some new work boots and he loves it there. He got a beautiful pair of wolverines and he loves them. 198$ he said they were worth every penny. It was a straight shot from Morganton to the #Catawaba Shoe Store. Very easy to get to.

Great customer service. They carry safety shoes, hiking shoes, slip resistant shoes, and regular work boots. They’ve been in Hickory over 20 years. They carry several brands:

Red Wing, Timberland Pro, Keen Utility, Wolverines, Justin, Ariat, Reebok, Skechers, Irish Setter, Carolina, Volcom, Bates, Oboe, Vasque, Hoss, Avengers, Nautilus, Florsheim, Rockport, Double H, and Puma Safety shoes.

They also have a Aetrex measuring device that shows pressure points and suggest orthotic insoles. These are great if you’re having any foot pain or if you have planters fasciitis. You’ve got to check them out. 😊

Go here once a year cause my work gives a $100 to buy a pair of work boots here. The people are very helpful and try to recommend stuff to you not just to sell it. They "put themselves in your shoes" to help you find the best type that will last , protect your feet, and be comfortable.

The lady that works there is absolutely wonderful and very helpful. She was patient with me as I looked through many shoes. She helped me find the perfect one. They actually offer a steel toed shoe that you can try out for 30 days and take back if you don't like it

My company uses this store for our safety shoe voucher. This is my first time actually using it and was skeptical from the reviews. From the minute I stepped in to the time I left the staff was very helpful, friendly and patient with me. I am very picky about my shoes because I wear them for a long time. I tried on 4 different shoes after the sales person measured my feet. He asked what my job was, surface I would be on etc. Very friendly and helpful. He explained their 30 day policy was an exchange for another brand if not satisfied and the 14 day return is non worn clean shoes. Overall it was an awesome experience and shoe prices were great for a store that is on 321 and is not a chain who gets bulk prices for their shoes. Thanks again for the great service and loving the Timberland Pros.

The experience was really great. I have very specific needs as I have some issues with my feet from a recent injury and surgery. They spent the time to make sure I had the best fit for my needs. Not just the most expensive. I am very pleased and will be a repeat customer.

They we’re very helpful ,I have bought work shoes from them for 8 years. Usually I have to order shoes because of my size and width, they had several pairs in my size. I was very pleased with the experience.

Nice and good shoes

First time here today, needed work shoes for my son. We made it there right before closing time. Dave took care of us and he was very helpful and took the time to answer all of our questions. There was a young woman on crutches, who I unfortunately don't remember her name but she was also very helpful. I would recommend this place, if you need work shoes or sneakers (saw some causal shoes there also).

Went in to buy boots for work for my husband. They helped him find the right size. He was taken care of with no wait. We found a boot he liked for work at a great price! 👍 Great place to buy work boots! They have so many brands to chose from.

Very helpful staff who are all ready to help you find the best boots or shoes for you. I've been getting my boots here for years. They carry all of the best boot brands and shoes in work styles. If they don't have your size in stock they will order them and have them most often in a week or so.

Sales people were very friendly and and helpful!!! Unfortunately they don't carry work shoes small enough to actually fit me, but the lady added a filler to the shoes I got which made for a perfect fit!!! Thank you Catawba Shoe Store for all your help!!! Amazing service!!!

The staff was the best part. They were all great, but David was the one that assisted me. He was very friendly and helpful. The shoes are good quality.
