A one-of-a-kind experience. Pastry was fresh. Service was exceptional. A little pricey w 2 persons costing approx. $150 It was a full house and parking was limited.

Nice boutique restaurant with themed rooms. We were in the England room. Typical prices for a specialty restaurant. Good soups, sandwiches, etc. with a nice personal flair.
Desserts are made by a local specialty shop. Soft drinks $3. Tea pot $8.50. Typical entree prices $9 - $13. Desserts $8. Breakfast served Friday and Saturday.

Lovely place for an afternoon lunch. We got the Little Women tea, 1/2 Soup/Sandwich and Ham & Swiss. Everything was delicious, the room was quaint, everyone around us was so pleasant and the staff was wonderful! We will be back for afternoon tea and desserts!

We have enjoyed ‘high tea’ at The Book and Bee twice. We have also been there for breakfast twice. Each experience was lovely. Full tea was quite a to-do! A very special treat! Charming atmosphere, attentive waitstaff, great tea, and very good food makes for an all-around pleasant time. Highly recommend.

Very nice place to have lunch. I took my wife here for a date and we loved it. They have many vegetarian options and gluten free options as well.

This is the most charming place! The rooms are decorated in whimsical themes, and it's such a cozy atmosphere. The food was delicious and sharing a fresh pot of good tea with a friend, served in adorable vintage tea pots and cups, was really lovely. It was packed when we went but the ladies that work there handled it like it was nothing, I was really impressed. I want to go back and have the full afternoon tea.

I have been here with my daughter a few times! It’s our favorite girl spot. The dining visuals are so unique and each room is themed. The tea is such a fun and past time brought back to life. 10 out of 10.

What a wonderful experience. We went during the week on a Tuesday for lunch. We shared a Cream Tea (1 pot of tea "the hobbit" with 2 scones, lemon curd, preserves and cream), Shepherds Pie and the Toad in the Hole. It was their 2nd anniversary so we ended with free cupcakes.

If this sounds like a place straight out of a cozy mystery, it really is... And it's everything you'd hope and more. First, the food and tea service is fantastic! The decor/theme is amazing: I've been to many tea rooms and while most are nice, they tend to look the same... Not The Book & Bee. It is unique and incredibly detailed and well executed on their literary and bee theme. I was shocked to learn they'd been open less than six months when we visited, because it seemed like a place that had existed for years. And from the cozy angle... Yes, the owner is a fan! Like most tea rooms, they do book up, so reserve early. If you go for lunch, arrive at 11am or go late at 2pm. Totally worth it. And affordable, although I have to say I'm almost ashamed that my family of 3 only spent $40 for lunch, tea, scones and dessert! Family-run business across 3 generations. So glad we stumbled upon this great cafe and tea room. Can't wait to visit again.

This is the sweetest little (well, actually they have quite a bit of space) spot for lunch, with or without a delicious pot of tea. The decor is adorable, having 4 separate rooms with different themes. There is a library themed room, a British themed room, an open main room with fireplace and flowers on the wall, and a lower room with second fireplace and exposed beams. We were seated in the library room, which had 4 two-tops fairly close together. If you didn't want someone to hear your conversation, you would definitely have to speak quietly, but it felt cozy and warm. I had what amounted to a chefs salad with ham, hard boiled egg, cheese, tomatoes and greens, and a cup of mushroom and brie soup. It was more than filling. My friend had a half grilled cheese sandwich and cup of chili. She said both were excellent as well. The homemade crackers were a little spicy and flaky and delicate. I can't wait to come back here again and try some other items. Oh, and again, the tea was excellent, served in China, and kept warm over a tea light on the table.

This was my 2nd time there, this time for girl's "afternoon tea" with my mother in law, sister in law and niece. Afternoon tea consisted of a three tiered platter of finger sandwiches, scones with jam, lemon curd, devonshire cream, and sweet treats. My 10 year old niece got the child's portion. We each got a pot of tea of the following: the Hobbit, the Sherlock, the Stevenson and the Austen and all were extremely delicious! I would advise you not breakfast that day! Highly recommend this cute little place and our waitress Gwen was a gem.

I had such a wonderful experience here that I'm planning on returning the next chance I get. The service was lovely, the food was scrumptious, the pot of hot tea was the best I've had at a restaurant in years, and the atmosphere was enchanting. All around a wonderful place.

Can't recommend this place enough! Been here twice and the experience just keeps getting better. Great homemade food, excellent tea selection (be sure to order the cream tea! You get scones and jam with your tea). I even requested a purple teacup on my birthday and 3 servers came back holding all the purple cups so I could choose. The atmosphere is unbeatbly charming and the food is delicious. A favorite of mine for sure!

For my wife's birthday, I treated her, a couple of her friends, and myself to a proper afternoon tea. The teas were excellent and the food selections were thoughtful and delicious. One of the party was gluten free and Book and Bee made her feel, well, royal.

In October, while visiting family in Hendersonville NC, they took me to this tea room. High Tea is available with a reservation but we were there for lunch. The building is really charming and they’ve gone all out with their decorating! The front steps are painted to look like book spines, pages and quotes from books adorn the walls, even the menu items are bookish and cleverly named. The wonderful atmosphere coupled with really good food and my family, made for a very enjoyable afternoon. I had the spicy crab soup, ahhh creamy spicy goodness! The soup came with house made herbed crackers. The crackers seemed like a saltine that had been dipped in melted garlic butter then toasted with parsley on top. I could’ve eaten 20 of these babies! My sandwich was on grilled sourdough and it had crispy bacon, greens, goat cheese, craisons, pistachio nuts and a drizzle of ranch dressing. It was seriously good! It came with a side and I chose the mashed potatoes. I know that may not “go” with a sandwich but I’m never going to turn down homemade mashed potatoes! Our server was Michelle and she’s my Aunt and Uncle’s favorite. When they saw her they flagged her down. She later disclosed that we weren’t in her section but she was happy to help us. What a sweetie!
