Beautiful restaurant. Simple menu with many great choices and was seated immediately when we got there Wednesday for lunch. Waitress was polite and refilled drinks quickly.

The brunch at Notions is incredible. Love the bottomless mimosas, you can choose from different flavors other than just orange juice and they allow you to mix them together if you want. I ate the Smothered Open-Faced Biscuit and it is by far the best brunch meal I’ve ever had. My boyfriend loved the Shrimp & Grits.

Cienne, our server, was like a ninja & Chuck the manager is awesome! We were on our way home after a day of traveling to Appalachian State to visit our son. We decided to divert from our GPS home to Hickory. We popped into Notions for a bite. The restaurant has a very welcoming layout. To avoid the wait, we took seats at the bar overlooking the chefs and cooks. You get a first hand view of what it’s like to make food. The chef/cooks were working so hard to knock out orders. Good on them! They hustle! We made a mistake with our order & they took care of us. I can see they take pride in making customers happy! My husband and “partner in eating” like to order many dishes and try everything. I took some pics & videos.
**the outdoor seating in good weather is such a plus! Check them out!

Popped in for an early dinner on a Thursday evening. Friendly greeting immediately at the door. The menu is perfect for tapas / shareables style and portions are generous. We ordered the pimento cheese dip appetizer (which was amazing with the fried crisp triangles) - the table favorite. The ahi tuna was perfectly cooked and seasoned well. Classic reuben did not disappoint my dad. I ordered the Cobb salad, which was large enough to feed all three of us.

Vibe is also nice. Outside seating is plenty and spacious. Inside a smidge more intimate, but still laid back.

Cocktail menu was well thought out. Enjoyed the sour cucumber.

Trendy spot with a great vibe indoors and a nice outdoor seating area downtown. We enjoyed several apps. Popular brunch spot and great place to meet for apps and a cocktail or a full dinner. Cienne is a fantastic server!

What a fun night! Notions is a great place to enjoy wonderful food, great drinks, and friendly service. We really had a blast. I enjoyed some local beers while my wife enjoyed a Mango flavored cocktail. We started with the shrimp cocktail and ahi tuna. Then we moved to the filet and shrimp & grits. Finished with the Key Lime Pie. Delicious from start to finish!

Excellent menu, wait staff and location. What made the most impact on this very positive experience was the professionalism of the wait staff in appearance, service and knowledge of the servings available. To have a hostess and servers that didnt have seven or more visible tattoos, and didn't call us honey or sweetie was such a pleasure! We thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience and thank you to the staff and ownership for setting the standard of better dining in Hickory!

Went for lunch today and the food was OUTSTANDING! Perfect grill toasted bread for the sandwiches and super fresh! Bacon Brussels and tomatoes bisque were on point too.
Service was perfect. Will be back soon!

Had enough to take home for dinner tonight.

First time here for brunch, it was so delicious and our wait for food was less than 10 minutes. Pineapple mimosa was a huge hit! The home fries were the best …

Delicious brunch spot! We enjoyed our brunch outside where there is lots of seating. Everything we ordered was great, service was great, and I can't wait to go back when we're in town. I recommend the Notions breakfast plate and Perrie Pineapple Mango drink.

Very cool place. We went for a couple of drinks and charcuterie. They had a pumpkin spice special drink that was very tasty. The pricing was fair and the service was good. We will go back

Visiting the area and found this gem for lunch. Had the BLT with Mayo on toasted wheat bread with the pan fried corn. Service was a tad slow but they were busy and short handed. The staff was very friendly and working hard. The food was delicious and fresh. I would certainly come back here.

Nice clean restaurant. It was standing room , but we got seated right away. Nice waitress, prompt food even tho, it was so busy! My dish was way to big , I ended up taking half my food home.

The brunch menu on the weekend is a great way to start enjoying this local downtown favorite.

Great (but short) brunch menu, mostly egg-based of course but the shrimp and grits are a great exception. The grits are in a cake, lightly fried. The shrimp sauce includes sausage (no pun intended), cheese, and peppers. If you have a meat allergy, take note.

The brunch Bloody Mary bar almost makes a Bloody Mary a meal with add-you-own bacon, sliced meats, cheeses and assortment of typical veggies.

We've been here for dinner a couple of times and it's equally good and with a great dinner times. Service is prompt and great.

There's outside seating on the sidewalk with umbrellas to block the sun and rain. Pet-friendly.

Parking is street-front up and down the main street without meters. Downtown Hickory isnt exactly close to I-40 or US-321 but access is fairly convenient. There are boutique shops around the restaurant to visit afterwards

Food was amazing. The shareables is basically an appetizer for two people (for those who think of getting it as an appetizer). The atmosphere was great, and I really liked our server, I'm not sure what his name is but he looks like Michael Reeves.

Had a great outdoor brunch here! Open face biscuit which was literally decadent! Wonderful service, above and beyond expectation. Great early afternoon followed by a little shopping on the square made for a lovely Saturday with my husband! Next time I'm getting there earlier to enjoy the farmers market first!
