VCA Castle Hills Companion Animal Hospital

I was here today with my pet Charlotte. I didn’t have an appointment, I just called them to see if we could just walk in, they said yes without a doubt!! Everyone including the front desk staff was so kind, Charlotte was seen by Anita and Dr. Cinderella, they listened to every concern with had about Charlotte’s condition and did a great full exam on her, and prescribed the most ideal medication. We were so pleased with the attention, they were gentle and sweet with our pet. Absolutely loved this place. I will be coming back!!

This clinic consistently provides great service with a caring staff (Judith and Julia) Their appointments are easy and they work hard to accommodate those same day appointments. They take time to explain procedures and answer all my questions. My fur babies health is truly their priority. I happily recommend them!

They are so friendly and warm every time you come in. I love the way they call you after your visit to follow up on how your pet is doing. Also, I love that they offer a monthly payment plan to spread out the annual expense to get your pet their shots, blood work and fecal tests. They make it so easy to care for your pet.

From start to finish, everyone from the front desk clerk to the vet were absolutely wonderful! St. Vincent has had great interactions & loves going to the vet.

Went to VCA clinic for my fur bbies today Stormi Rain and Samson Bleu and had such a pleasant experience . Ms. Desirae Ochoa at the front desk was so sweet and very professional, Mr. Carlos made me feel very comfortable tht my fur bbies would ok and very informative . Dr. Guerrero absolutely luved her she was very gentle and luving with my bbies. I would highly recommend this hospital and will absolutely return . Awesome place!!!❤💙🐶🐶

My puppy and I had a great first visit with Dr. Cho. He seemed very knowledgeable as well as very caring towards my puppy and me. He took time to answer my questions and was willing to share his experience, I really appreciated that. Julia at the front desk also took time to answer all my questions and helped me get everything set up with appointments, payments, etc. and on top of that is very personal and kind in her assistance. Carlos, the veterinary assistant has such a gentle & kind energy, puppy went right to him. This is a great place for animals...and humans!

Highly recommend this VCA hospital. Julia at the front desk is very professional and always makes it the best experience during our visits. Tech Emilee was so helpful and friendly and made our kitty feel comfortable too. I Love all the staff here and so does Loki.

I took my senior dog in to VCA Companion for the first time a couple of weeks ago and was very pleased with the service and care all the way around. From checking in and getting set up through my dog's visit with Dr. Wood, it felt like a personal experience for me and my boy. Jacqui was our tech and she was knowledgeable regarding my questions before and after we saw the doctor. Dr. Wood took the time to explain everything to ensure I knew what was going on. And, Julia made us feel at home through the check in/check out process. I since called with a follow up concern, and Julia was very helpful on the phone. I am relatively new to SA and this is my third vet as I try and find a go-to place for my two seniors. This was my best experience so far.

This was our first time to bring our dogs to VCA of Castle Hills and they did an excellent job helping to retrieve prior documents from another clinic, and making us feel at home with their hospitality! Thank you Wendy, Julia, and Ruby!

Really don’t want to give a 5 star review because I know others will want to come here too, but the quality of service and quality of care provided to my baby and myself was just unparalleled! I came here by happenstance since my usual vet clinic (Banfield) didn’t have any openings until next week at the earliest and my pet is sick now - there was a same day appointment out in San Marcos (we live in San Antonio) and that is simply too ridiculously long of a drive for me with a sick animal to make. Anyways, VCA Castle Hills had a few openings today and I jumped on it!

My tech Wendy was incredibly friendly and professional and showed the utmost concern and proper handling of my pet. You could tell she loves interacting with animals and people and was very patient and non-judgmental about reviewing payment and care options.

As I was leaving, Julia warmly greeted me at the counter and noticed I was invested with the automatic coffee/tea machine but struggling. Rather than letting me get flustered, she displayed a superior sense of customer service by inquiring if I needed help and coming over to explain how to operate their machine as well as taking the time to do an Amazon search for their automatic trash can (I love convenience of utilities so I was excited by this!).

Both ladies display of professionalism and care really stood out to me this trip. In addition to Dr. Wood’s expert knowledge and advise, she also was very patient, empathetic, and a superb active listener - not talking over me or at me, but talking TO me with respect and support.

Needless to say, I have a new vet clinic I’ll be transferring to!

Loved coming to this veterinary office. The front desk staff were extremely welcoming, personable, and helpful. Dr. Wood was very thorough in her examination and consultation. The vet assistant Tony was friendly and informative. They gave us goodie bags to take home with cat food, flea and tick prevention, and little laser points for the cats! And because it was our first visit, the cat’s wellness exams were free. I cannot say enough nice things about this establishment and the staff we will most definitely be coming back :)

Adopted an adorable kitten from SA humane society and named him, Hatim. Had a free checkup certificate from SA humane society. First time visited the hospital. I was asked for a coffee while waiting for a doctor. Dr. Cho was great explaining and answering many questions. Very professional too. Staff was professional and knowledgeable Thanks for checking Hatim.

I just wanted to say thank you!!! Our cat started showing symptoms that we haven't ever seen the night before leaving for a trip, and after speaking with a vet professional through the VCA app it was recommended that she see a doctor. Early the next morning she was able to see a doctor! We were in and out and still made our flight! Thank you all for being so understanding and helpful! All of you guys are truly amazing! 🤩

The best vet I have ever visited! Dr. Wood was very thorough in examining my dog and the staff was so friendly. I left feeling like my questions/concerns were fully addressed and they actually cared. Happy to say this is our new animal hospital going forward!

i came here to get my cat cremated when she passed. we had called a previous place but they wanted me to leave my cat outside for 48 hours so they could come pick her up. we called this place and they told us how much it would cost and that we could come in right away. on the way there i was absolutely bawling bexause i just lost my best friend and i wasnt ready to let her go. when we got there everyone was so welcoming. there was a vet there who made me feel calm in a way. he told me i was brave for bringing in my cat and he told he would make sure she was well taken care of. when we got her back i knew she was well taken care of. everything seemed okay. next month will mark a year since shes passed and every single time i pass by this hospital i remember the vets who helped me grief in that lil moment. thank you to those you helped me grieve my misty.

Dr. Cho and his staff are beyond amazing. He is very thorough in all his medical expertise. I am so glad to have found this vet office. Also Julia at the front desk is very friendly and professional. Thanks for all ya'll do for our fur babies.

I have been coming to this hospital for years. I adore the staff here. They are always kind to my pets and myself. They are personable, which makes it easier to trust them, and my pets are at ease. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of speaking with Julia when I walked in. She’s always great! The tech, Anita, made Tiffany comfortable for her visit. Dr. Wood is so sweet and funny. They all have an awesome demeanor. The establishment has recently been painted and looks bright and clean. Even if the cost goes up a little, I would still continue to come here, as the staff is so worth it.

Julia at the front desk has been warm and helpful throughout years of visits. I appreciated Julia’s and Dr. Wood’s compassion and expert care when our oldest dog passed. Vet Tech Brooke and Dr. Guerro took the time to answer all of my questions regarding diet, weight, and teeth care for our younger dog. We are grateful for the Castle Hills team.

We were treated very well as soon as we walked in the door. The lady Miss Julia even made me coffee while we waited. Everyone was very interested in our pet and wanted to get to know her immediately which made me feel great. 100% would recommend to anyone looking for a great veterinarian in the San Antonio area.

Where do I even start? I have been trying for weeks to get my dog at her vet on ft sam Houston with no luck. BELLA my 11-year-old GOLDEN started having mobility issues that were rapidly increasing. She could barely get up & always needed help. I had to find her another vet/hospital quickly so a neighbor from the neighborhood app recommended VCA.

I called and spoke to Janet and explained what was going on and she got her in the same day. I told them she couldn't stand on her back legs, so they bought out a stretcher & quickly got her in the room.

The Dr's assistant BEN was so patient, & affectionate so caring from beginning to end calling BELLA sweetheart as if she was his own. Telling BELLA what a wonderful dog she is and how brave she is. I've never seen a more compassionate & loving VET ASST in my life.

DR Wood was VERY THOROUGH on what she was going to do & discussed all options.
The DR. came back from doing the x-ray/CT scan & was advised that Bella has cancer & it spread. She had a huge mass sitting on her spleen & pockets of blood in her liver. She gave the options in a very professional & caring way, & showed so much empathy.

I wasn't expecting to hear this & was so devastated. We had to keep her from suffering 😔 it was agonizing knowing I had to let her go. The complete staff showed so much sympathy & told me to take as much time as needed. The girl who came in to provide info on picking out a urn looked like she wanted to cry with me but I know she had to keep it professional.

I wanted to DEEPLY THANK VCA & THEIR COMPLETE STAFF IN MAKING THIS PROCESS A SMOOTH ONE FOR ME & MY FAMILY. And for being such caring professionals!!!!

Thank you for getting her ashes back to me quickly! RIP MY SWEET BELLA
