Allen Medical Clinic: Kuo David C MD

My family and I have been patients of Dr. Kuo for the last 15 or 16 years. I have read these reviews and can say with 100% honesty that he and his staff are wonderful. Dr. Kuo takes your health seriously. His office may be small but his heart and knowledge are gigantic. He has no problem telling you like it is but you can rest assured that he is telling you the absolute truth. As for the ones that are worried about the office being sanitary, you can rest assured I knowing they take great care to make sure that everyone is safe from catching germs from others. Some of the reviews I read were so off it made me laugh. I moved 2 hours away and still won't hesitate to drive to see him. Hands down the best Dr I've ever seen. I will remain his patient until he retires.

I read these reviews and am shocked. I have been his patient for 15 plus years. He actually was the first Dr. to suggest a PSA test early. Guess what I had cancer! Successful early treatments and 11 years later I am still good. He saved my life in my opinion, and I am grateful. So the lobby is small....what do you need? It is clean comfortable you get greeted quickly and he is almost always on time...so you don't sit long anyway. Yes he tells you what he thinks...he is the Dr. He is not there to make believe...he is there to tell you what is wrong and how to fix it. Go have your palms read if you want something other than the truth. I drive 25 miles to see him.

I visited the office for general health concern. He checked everything, gave the latest flu shots, and had due diligence to ask the right questions for health purpose. The office isn’t the super fancy or accommodating with TV, but that’s not important if you are coming for a health check. He is an excellent doctor because he asks for the right information, checks with patients for consent, and knows what to look for. I would be more concerned if he wasn’t asking and not being honest about your well being, but he asked the right questions and seeks them out to check for patient health. That’s a good indication that you have a concerned doctor who looks out for your well being. He maybe blunt, but I would want my doctor to not sugarcoat anything since knowing your health concern ahead is better than hiding for “because it doesn’t sound good”.

In regards to insurance, that’s something doctors can’t control. It’s up to the insurance company..

P.S. Focus on what’s important, not accommodation or TV. If you are visiting a doctor, you are visiting for health. That should be the priority.)

This is my first time visiting Dr. Kuo at Allen Medical Clinic. The people who work there are very friendly and very accommodating. Dr. Kuo can speak a little Mandarin, he is professional, kind, and care about my health issue. I recommend them to everyone, especially you want find a doctor who can speak Mandarin.

Dr Kuo understands what it takes to be healthy. He asks a lot of questions to know more about how to treat you properly. He does have a unique personality which is fine by me. My visits aren't to be coddled and told what I want to hear.

I’ve been coming to see Dr Kuo for about 8 years and I highly recommend him. I even bring my kids to see him because I like him more than their pediatrician.

Dr. Kuo was always has been good to my wife and I during visits. He gives natural advice outside of over the counter and prescribe medications. His wife and staff has greeted me EVERY time I came in and as I left. She would even tell me if there will be wait due to the number of patients in the back. I'm usually in and out in 20 mins even on a same day visit. I respect that he is direct and to the point on myhealth. Thanks Dr. And Mrs. Kuo for your services..

Worried I had a hernia and he got me in that same day and checked it out. Did a great job and I was very happy with my visit.

He is both mine and my husbands physician so far has done well. And never ignored

If I could give this place zero stars I would. First, the waiting room is very small. There are about 6 chairs and a lot of germs. I understand that there are sick patients at clinics but you don't want to catch something on top of what you already have. Second, you are not greeted, instead just given a clipboard and told to fill it out. There is no sense of curtesy. My appointment was at 12:15pm. I came in at 12pm to make sure I had my paperwork filled out since I was a new patient. Had it turned in by 12:17pm. Was then asked to wait. Waited until 12:35 when I was finally put in another waiting room waiting for the doctor. I sat there waiting until 1:15pm when I finally walked out of the room. Keep in mind that no one checked in on me or apologized for the wait or gave me any acknowledgement. I told the receptionist I was leaving. No apologie. She just told me to talk to the office manager who then told me that it would be a few more minutes. At that point I declined waiting any longer. This doctor is not respectful of your time or schedule so it leaves me with little faith on his ability to perform his job. Do not recommend. Find someone else. Keep away.

Came in with my wife for an appointment, granted it was last minute and same day scheduling. It wasn't worth the drive there. Extremely small (4x8 ) horribly ventilated waiting room , with no accommodations for guest ( tissue , hand sanitizer, reading material, tv etc. ) No proper greeting , reception just kind of looks at you from behind the glass. Upon arriving 15 mins early to account for paperwork overall wait time to get into a room was 35-40 mins. The actual patient room is even smaller with no sanitizer or a sink. Normally on visits the first thing the doctor does is hit the sanitizer or washes hands once they enter room. ( piece of mind for me) . We continued to wait an additional 35 mins with no one checking in before deciding to leave. Office manager stated its cause we were a last minute schedule understandable, but that is to long of a wait regardless of the situation, especially since no other patients were seen in the office waiting or looked to be being treated. Would not return or recommend anyone to this location. I've been to plenty of doctors and appointments to know when your time is not being valued, and based off previous reviews we probably were better off.Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Tried calling to set up an appointment as a new patient. Explain to office staff that I needed a check up and paperwork to be filled out. She seemed very unwilling to discuss with me how much a visit would be or even set up an appointment and told me to call back later.

Doctor saw me for less than 5min AND HAD NO CONCERN of my opinion. Said I might have pneumonia and suggested I walked from his office to US 75. WHACK DOCTOR DO NOT GO HERE.

Speaks to you in a very condescending manner. Also, as another poster pointed out, appears to expect the worst from his patients and had bad people skills. Would not recommend.
