Otherside Deli

Great subs/sandwiches! They make a lot of their stuff from scratch and you can taste the freshness of their ingredients. As a bonus, the food also comes out decently fast. Definitely would come again👍

I read about Otherside Deli in an article a few weeks ago stating it was the best sandwich in Texas. My husband and I were on vacation near Austin so he surprised me and took me over. Our interaction was with the owner and he was so pleasant, proud of his business, his product, and truly provided good customer service. He informed us that they make their own pastrami after I complemented the Rueben. I hadn’t had pastrami that delicious in a long time. My husband loved the cheesesteak. There was an extremely steady flow of business. Even though we arrived an hour before close. Fingers crossed his business prospers and I find myself there every time I’m near Austin.

Had the Rowdy Roddy sandwich on Rye. Perfect roasted, moist chunks of turkey. Highly recommended and cool name for a sandwich.

Fresh bread. Fresh ingredients. Very well put together. Great little sandwich shop. We will absolutely come back. Pretty sure they have the best sandwiches in Austin. We got a Reuben and I think they make the meat themselves for that. Loved the Roast beef.

The sandwich was delicious. I bought a cookie for later, and ate it that evening as a treat. Let me just say WOW! Talk about yummy 😋 it hit the spot. I'll be going back, and if you haven't been to this little Gem yet. Please find time to go and get yourself a delicious sub. You won't regret it. I had the turkey sub, husband got the corn beef sub, chips,drink, and cookie

This place is always a 11/10. I get "The Otherside" with corned beef on white toasted. All I can say is, amazing. One sandwich is $14 or half for $8. It's worth every penny. I haven't had any of the sides because the sandwich is very filling. Everyone there is really friendly. There is outdoor seating if you want to be 2 ft from the sun, otherwise there are 3 booths and a long high table inside. They don't take cash.

Pretty great lunch spot. The sandwiches are great.
I crave their Philly cheese on random occasions and this place hits it .

The staff is super friendly and price is right.

Parking is easy. I go grab food and eat it right by the park.

Amazing Reuben. I ordered 1/2 and a side of coleslaw and both were great. I haven't had such a good Reuben since my days in NYC. The pastrami was chucky and brisket-like of how moist and tender it was. The coleslaw was a big portion for a side dish, and it had a good balance of acidity and crunch.

Everything the other reviews say about the reubens and subs is accurate - they’re delicious. But I want to give a particular shout out to the sides, and specifically the macaroni pasta salad side, which is one of the best I’ve ever had. It’s incredibly well balanced, well seasoned, and not too sweet. It reminds me why pasta salad is still a thing. Don’t sleep on it! 🙌 The tator tots are always perfectly crispy, and the acid and pepper in the coleslaw is perfection.

Listen y'all I cannot say enough good things about this deli. I am an East Coast native and grew up on terrific subs on Long Island. I stumbled upon this deli this past week and ordered the Italian sub. The meats were phenomenal and the bread was so legit. The staff was also incredibly friendly and genuinely happy I was there. I cannot wait to go back. The prices are a little steep considering the size of the sandwich but it was worth it. This is my go to sub shop in Austin now. If they need a spokeswoman, I'm available!

The real deal. I don’t review very often but when I do...... it’s because it was great!

The other side deli has an awesome and rich with flavored Ruben pastrami sandwich experience with both very crisp fresh bread and amazing sauce.

There are not many places in Austin where you can get a great deli sandwich.
The pickle was fresh and crisp! They got style they’ve got class.

It’s familey owned and operated by a very friendly couple who are welcoming warm hearted. They both said “hi” as I walked in, it may not be a big thing to most but it made me feel very welcome. Thanks for that!

Side note there is a cool little patio in the back. I will be eating many more meals here! Keep killin the sandwich biz! See you again soon.

Got the cheese steak and their Italian sandwich. Both were $12 and the beer was $4. Didn’t make it to happy hour but it’s half price beer after 2pm. Cute little shop that’s in an out of the way spot. Nothing to complain about.

Otherside Deli has restored my faith in American Cheese. The Rowdy Roddy was so flavorful, and the bread… y’all, don’t even get me started on the bread.

I love that they serve 1/2 sandwiches for those who want a lighter lunch. Can’t wait to come back and try more from the menu!

The best DELI I have been to in years. The sandwich didn’t even make it 15min in the car before the smell captivated my soul and asked for its sacrifice. I was half tempted to turn around and get another to take home.
Every little detail was delicious; the bread, sauce and meatballs were equally delicious with not one single element overpowered another and not one single part felt cheap or store bought.

Great Rachel sandwich: pastrami pulls apart easily, good amount of coleslaw, and bread is nicely, lightly toasted. The pickle is also great!

Wow, absolutely legit. One of the best deli sandwiches I’ve had in a long time. Super nice staff, cool music playing. What a find…Austin keep this place open.

Meet BBQ brisket’s sexy cousin, brisket pastrami. I spent some time as they opened talking to the owners - they are super down to earth and making Austin’s best. I usually don’t leave reviews but these guys stand out and you absolutely have to come check em out

Great sandwich! Just so easy but people will still mess it up. These guys didn’t! I think it’s such a great thing having a deli shop that isn’t Subway or appended to a grocery store. It’s a lost art which I’m glad these guys are holding strong to.

Also, love their quirky alien themed art pieces hanging in the restaurant.

Finally. An Austin deli worth going to. First timer, nice staff, food is top notch. And you feel like you are at a classic deli. Fantastic

This is a hidden gem just west of Lamar. I always get the Reuben, but all the sandwiches are good here. As of March 17, 2021, they offer takeout and curbside pickup only. ... Don't be turned off by the plain storefront. This place does sandwiches right.
