I saw a review that said the donuts are a bit sweet. I don’t disagree, BUT they’re amazing! They’re not the sort of thing you’d scarf a dozen of in five minutes of self-loathing. They’re the sort of delicacy that you enjoy as a treat for a big win, or to make yourself just a little happier on a sunny morning! Simply delectable!

The staff was amazing - the atmosphere is warm, inviting and professional. Everything you could hope for! I can’t wait to go back and try a burger!

We travelled to Birmingham from Gainesville, GA to celebrate my sons birthday. We met for breakfast at Hero’s and it did not disappoint! It was a Sunday morning between early and late church services and the place was hopping!! The menu was a little different than a typical breakfast spot which I liked. (I’ve since heard their burgers are fab). The wait to order was minimal and we lucked into a table right away. My granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed the bear claw we ordered to eat while waiting on our breakfast. The coffee was outstanding. I forgot to ask what it was but it was far better than an institutional brand. The self-serve coffee bar had three milk options; half and half, almond and oat milk. I don’t use sweetener but I’m willing to bet they had good choices. The food arrived promptly by a super friendly young man. Everybody’s order was different and yet everybody’s order was spot on correct. I had the Hero Breakfast and picked turkey sausage for my side. The meal was great but the sausage was soooo good. My son and DIL had the French toast and it looked divine. After breakfast we walked across the street to the cutest playground/park and had a lovely time. We actually chatted on our way out with the same friendly young man who brought our food to us. He noticed our car tag was from Hall County, Georgia and that’s where he grew up! He was adorable. The location of Hero’s is easy to get to, we had no trouble finding a place to park and the food and service were outstanding! I highly recommend Hero’s!

A burger and a donut at the same place? What’s the catch? Nothing. Amazing! I started with the Key Lime donut, cause what else was I gonna do while waiting for the burger to cook? Then had the Dad Burger. Donut was the perfect blend of light and crisp pastry with perfectly tart kick of key lime. Never too sweet and yet full of flavor.

And then the burger! Wow. Simple but perfect. Juicy meat that shines as the star of the burger, followed by sweet bacon and creamy cheese and a pop of pickle. All on a beautiful light and flavorful brioche bun. Can’t say enough good things.

For the second consecutive trip, the young lady (blonde hair, red hoodie cashier/barista/food runner) is beyond exceptional!
She is sooooo friendly and goes above and beyond great customer service!

I’m in the hospitality business and I wish I had someone like her.

I'm never disappointed when I come here. The food is wonderful the presentation is great. The donuts oh man lol my kids can't have enough.

I've heard people rant and rave over Hero Doughnuts since I moved to the Birmingham area. I put it off because how great could a doughnut shop be, right? Wrong. I was with some friends and they suggested we hit Hero for breakfast before we went out and about for the day. I had their Egg and Cheese Bun with Bacon. Let me tell you, that the sauces on the sandwich were to die for. The cracked sauce and pepper jam elevated the sandwich. I've also been told they sell the sauce in store, so I will definitely be back for another sandwich, a dozen doughnuts, and a bottle of the sauce to put on everything.

Cute and cozy place that I really enjoyed visiting! I’ve never been before, but I will definitely be returning. I got the half dozen donuts: glazed, chocolate, pistachio, Will’s favorite, strawberry, and bread pudding. The bread pudding was DENSE, but still really good! My all time favorite was the Will’s favorite. It had buttercream and fresh strawberries in between a cut glazed donut. The donuts here were the perfect cross between fluffy and cakey! The service was really friendly and nice too! I will be coming back!

I finally gave this place a try. I must say it was Very Delicious!! Anna took our order, recommending to us the Hero Burger. I chose the double with fries. The burger was very delicious, from the tasty sauce as well as presentation. I loved the fries, as I believed they were seasoned well. Although my brother thought they were a tad salty. I also got the sweet tea, which was excellent!! Although I didn’t have room at the time, I purchased a couple donuts to go. The Blueberry Crumble and Coconut. They tasted wonderfully and seemed of a rather light dough than what I’m used to. Not bad just different.
I’ll definitely be returning, to try the other yummy menu options. Come early while the donut selection is fresh. The outside appearance was very welcoming and inside was clean & comforting.

My first time here. Will definitely be back. The guy that took my order was polite and friendly with a nice smile. I got the apple fritter, loaded hash browns and a cold brew. Food was good! The coffee was smooth, among the best I have had.

My favorite is the Dad Burger. Today I had the classic with bacon- also delicious.

Perfect for those who can’t decide on sweet or savory breakfast — get the best brioche breakfast sandwich with BEC, then share a specialty donut with someone! Good amount of seating, great coffee, quick service. Cute takeout window for to-go orders outside too! Highly recommend the blueberry crumble donut and any BEC situation on the brioche. Hash browns are shareable and delicious too.

Absolutely amazing. I got the bacon/egg/cheese sandwich with the crack sauce and pepper jam and it is the best sandwich I believe i have ever had!! I got the combo that came with hashbrowns and coffee. Also, very good. And to top it off I had the donut holes which were so delicious!! Friendly staff!

SUPER clean! YUMMY food! NICE people! BEAUTIFUL scenic view of Homewood Park from inside, or from the cute outdoor tables! We'll definitely be back!

These donuts are incredible. The glaze is one of the best I've ever had. I would gladly drive across town for these donuts! We look forward to coming back and trying some of their other food items.

Breakfast was absolutely amazing. My top 10 breakfast. That pepper jam is so good!

This is your spot if you have a sweet tooth!! Lots of variety. Cool place to sit down inside too. Happy I tried this place out!

I'm not a big donut fan in general but I LOVE me a good egg and cheese sandwich. I want the roll toasted, the egg freshly made, and I want it all to be a little sloppy- somehow a sloppy egg and cheese always tastes better.

Hero always provides exactly that, and despite the fact that I enjoy ketchup on my egg and cheese (don't hate on it- it's delish), I never have to go there because the cracked sauce on these babies is *IT*.

All the food there is straight fire! Burger, fire! Donut, fire! Super crunchedchicken sandwich, fire! These are most likely the best donuts in the universe but I haven’t been outside of the Milky Way Galaxy. Next time Elon, Bezos and I take a tour of space I’ll get back to y’all.

Crazy good fresh made daily in store unique doughnuts and all sorts of other delicious goodies! Once again a Homewood home run! This dozen is their regular set ( G.O.A.T.S in the menu) minus strawberry. Fair price for the quality☺

A very different type of donut. So light and airy. Nice flavors that weren’t too intense. Not too sugary sweet and didn’t make me sick after eating a few. The sugar and spice and pistachio were awesome.
