Really liked this store! Huge selection of used vinyl with a good selection across a lot of genres. You'll find both newer releases and older releases together in the used bins. The new arrivals section was a blast to flip through, if you like the thrill of not knowing what could be next! Just expanded their local Polyvinyl section, so I had to go back a couple days after my first visit and peruse that.

This place is quite excellent--the selection of records, clothes that only hipsters could love, and oddities is vast and will satisfy any indie kid's needs. Staff is chill and the environment is bright and clean. Doesn't smell as dusty as most record stores do, but still smells....vintage? Interpret how you will.
Shows here are fun, tho the sound system the last time I was here left a lot to be desired, tho not sure if it belonged to the house or was brought in by a band. Cool place for a pop-up style gig tho!

This record store is great! The owner didn't even really know I was performing that day but I came, performed had a great time, met some new people and really got a good taste of Champaign IL. I'll be back there on Tuesday Aug 8th!

Honestly, every time I visit this shop I make a B line for the film soundtracks—which is a pretty sizable section—and I never fail to find something great. The jazz section likewise never fails to please. The owner is very friendly and will sometimes help you out with a surprise discount. I love walking in and finding out things are 30% off! Keeps me coming back to check for new used selections. Dandelion is likewise excellent for vintage clothing.

I have always loved this place. Combining it with Dandelion was even better! This is my go-to to make sure I can get the newest album from my favorite band that you often can't find elsewhere. The prices are better than the bigger stores and they can order most anything and get it to you in a week (so you don't have to pay shipping and handling to order it yourself). Highly recommend. Every person I have brought here has had a blast and found something they couldn't leave without.

Love this local institution. New, old, collectible, local, refurbished classic audio gear, classic video games, local art & t-shirts...everything you could want from a classic indie record shop. Lately I have been buying records with interesting cover art to frame & hang. Go drop a few bucks and support these guys until they can start hosting in-store live shows again.

Incredible selection of used and new records and cassettes. Along with cds, video games (a bit pricey for the games but not too bad), and basically everything you could need to play your collection. They also hold some great shows every once and a while! Prices on vinyl are really decent! I really like this place.

My dream record store, years ago I went as a young kid looking for some records of new jams I was getting into. The owner let me know they'd been years out of print but looked at me and said "hold on a second." He ended up going to a room with his personal collection and brought both records out to me and I was a forever fan just like that. Great service, can get you any album you want here. One of my favorite businesses anywhere.

I really enjoyed going here. The selection of albums was bigger than other stores I have been to and they also have more than just vinyl. Also the man at the register, maybe the owner, did a great job of making us feel welcome in the store.

Just a really solid vintage place. Definitely more geared towards women's clothing, but there are a rack or two of men's stuff. My wife consistently finds great things there for herself.

The music side seems good, but I haven't really explored it.

Exile on Main Street is both a hardcore music shop and a laid-back, casual one. I buy mom and pop shops first and this store never disappoints. There are things here you'll find no where else and you can order almost anything. Everyone who works there is a knowledgeable music person of one type or another. Best stop for music around. Chat up the employees. It's a lot of fun there.

This is easily the best record shop in Champaign-Urbana. They specialize in contemporary indie bands and other music that isn't quite mainstream, but they also stock a selection of relevant classics, especially if they're recently re-issued on vinyl. The stock is not huge, so you're not necessarily going to find every record by every artist they stock, but they're also good about ordering music for you if you can't find it.

They have a decent selection of used CDs, DVDs, and vinyl. The LP prices are low, although the used CD and DVD prices are a bit high. Fortunately, they have frequent sales, which serves to both save you money and insure that their stock changes reasonably quickly.

They have the requisite selection of vintage console games, zines, ironic buttons, and other kitschy stuff. I can take it or leave it. For me, it's about the music and they do it really well.

The owner is a cool guy with great taste and usually has something nice to say about your selections, provided you're not fishing a Kenny G LP out of the dollar bin. There's no pretense here; just a guy that likes helping people enjoy music.

Huge selection for the music, and decent prices. Cute shop. The vintage clothes were lovely and it great condition as well. This store, both the music and the clothing areas, were a dream.

Its a pretty cool place to get music you just never really know what you can find there, Saturdays is generally a good day to go there. They also have a clothing store in it too and have a selection of used games there as well.
