Red Hair

I did not expect I would have a decent haircut when I came to Champaign. However, I had a wonderful experience in Red Hair and am truly willing to visit here next time.
The hairstylist is proficient at handling Asian hair, especially if you wanna a Korean style, Red Hair will satisfy you.

The price of a guys haircut has gotten more expensive over the years. Even so, it is the best Asian haircut in and near Champaign, even competing with Chicago area. I think it's worth the price and would recommend.

The Korean lady is very professional! I recommend all Asian students coming here. I was recommended by a friend too. The experience has been good with Sue. I hope the woman haircut of 40 dollars could be cheaper, but there is not much difference in other nearby places.

I have been coming to this place for about 1.5 years, always a good experience. The only issue is that due to the pandemic one of the two stylists has left - my impression is that she went back to Korea for good and may not come back. So there is only one stylist here for quite some time, who has been working extra hard to keep up with customer demands, and it is difficult for me to make an appointment because they are always fully booked. If the pandemic has taught me anything, it is that the good things you have in life, don't take them for granted. I am happy Red Hair is still here today, and I will be missing it when either me or RH leaves Champaign for good.

The hairstylist that cut my hair was so sweet, and we were talking the whole time! I'm usually very shy, but she was so easy to talk to during the whole haircut. It was also so quick, too! I went from very long to very short, and she managed to get the cut done in under 30 minutes. I was very pleased with my cut, I definitely recommend!

I came to get my hair done here for the first time today and I found Sue to be super friendly and skilled at what she did. I have really thick hair that can be difficult to manage but she did a great job styling and hair cutting it. Would very highly recommend!! Things I found very satisfactory about Red Hair:

I was a walk-in and was lucky to get seated pretty quickly even though there were two waiting there before me. I think I only waited 20 minutes. I just needed a quick cut because of an upcoming interview and all the more popular barbers like Leland's had like a 5 day wait. I showed them a picture of the cut I was growing towards and they customized it to my hair length, shape, density and I was amazed by how quick and accurate my hair-cutter was. She had a great understanding of shaping and maintaining hair for its continued growth. I'll come back!

The other week I had my appointment for the best haircut I've gotten in 25 years of living in CU. Both me and my girlfriend went and got our haircut, and we were both very happy. The stylists aren't overly chatty and are focused on the job at hand. They took their time, and gave me a really good, long lasting cut. The prices were completely fair and my girlfriend and I look forward to my next appointment.

Got haircuts here for 4 years. Very nice lady and extremely high quality haircuts. I moved and now I’m sad I can’t find someone as good as her.

Make sure to have washed hair without product beforehand to save time

On a whim I decided to come here for a cut. I'm so happy I did. I had a terrible cut before coming here at some high-end salon. I guess they didn't understand Indian hair. I waited for a while before getting my hair cut, but that could be due to the fact that I was a walk-in. I ended up getting my hair done by Jenny. She was AMAZING. I gave her vague directions to "trim my hair". I was so fed up with my hair because of the previous cut (supposed to be an A-line bob). I figured that no one else could make it worse.

Jenny gave me the cut of my dreams. Not only did she "trim my hair" but she gave me the original A-line bob I wanted without me specifically asking. I totally recommend Jenny if you ever want your hair cut. I've only been to her at Red Salon, and I will only see her from now on because she totally gets my hair. The price was completely reasonable for the quality cut I received.

Sue at Red Hair is great--she's friendly, efficient, and very skilled. The price is reasonable for a men's haircut ($18 without tip) and she is very experienced at cutting Asian styles. You need to call ahead of time, though; sometimes she is booked for the next couple of days.

I love my haircut! She really took her time making sure my layers and face-framing pieces were even and perfect. Listened to what I wanted, and it turned out better than I expected. I'm really happy and would recommend this place to anyone.

Because of all of the reviews by males, I was worried this was a barber shop when I called. FYI: the stylist does male and female haircuts. I'm so glad this stylist worked me in before I had a job interview the next day. She was so efficient and gave me a really great professional haircut. When she was cutting my hair we talked and I could tell by reading between the lines that she squeezed me in on her lunch break. I left her a big tip, and was later offered the job.

This is my favorite hair salon in town. I have been always happy with the short hair cut that I got there.

Good haircut place on campus, the service is usually quick, people are polite there. The quality of haircut is usually good if you are on time to the appointment and give them enough time.
