Older diner atmosphere. Friendly wait staff. Food was out quickly and was just like we ordered. Acoustics are good, not a lot of background noise, so, easy to hold a conversation.

Really friendly staff, delicious food, not overpriced. Great place to have a nice sit down dinner in a local restaurant!

This is a great place to eat in Rochelle! The servers are friendly, the restaurant has a small town feel and taste and there are a lot of menu items! The amount of choices is probably the only problem with this restaurant. I ordered Turkey and Gravy and it was great! I ate it all. For desert, I chose Tapioca pudding. It is not my favorite desert, but it is a more healthy alternative to icecream.

PS: - My Mom loves to get the spinach pie!

This is just a flat-out great place to go. Food was delicious, service super fast and friendly, and the atmosphere is perfect for a small-town, charming, family owned restaurant. We were even lucky enough to hear a customer playing his harmonica this morning!

Out of towners admittedly. Food was dinneresk which I love. I enjoyed the atmosphere and service. The menu is vast and extensive. The dessert I tried was Banana creme pie it was off in texture, but I still ate it, so it's not too bad. The prices are extremely fair, and I will stop in if I'm ever passing through.

Service was awesome, food was even better! Money well spent. Prices are so cheap for amazing food quality. Felt like a real mom and pop shop. Will be back most definitely. Kayla our server was amazing. She had another employee very polite, and professional worked together. Olivia was fantastic. Thank you both, management and was on top of it. Couldn’t ask for much more. Great experience found our new favorite place!!

Stopped by on the way through town for a carryout sandwich and fries. Picked the Reuben on marbled rye and it was loaded with Corned beef, just the right amount of sauerkraut and sauce! Huge portion for the price! Great sandwich!! Service was quick and courteous.

Passing through Rochelle. I read the reviews before my daughter and I went to the Sunrise Family Restaurant. We were hoping for a somewhat palatable, warm, decently priced meal. When we arrived it was crowded. That's always a good sign. We were seated within minutes, had our drink order taken and served quickly served by the owners son. He was very friendly and personable. The waitress came to take our order with a smile. I looked around to see other diners that seemed pleased and content. I ordered the Sunday special. Half roasted chicken, french onion soup, and mashed potatoes for $11.99. There was also corn and stuffing. I will confess, I am a foodie...and I was impressed because the food was homemade and flavorful. On top of that, I have lunch and dinner for tomorrow. I don't know how this family makes money serving such large portions. (I have a feeling they've done this with folks their whole lives...cooking too much.) The Dad and uncle I glanced at cooking behind the counter cook for people with love and have a real passion and calling to feed people and see them happy and satisfied.
When I pass near Rochelle in the future...I'll be sure to return. My daughter was telling people at our hotel about our experience!
I hope the family will carry on this legacy. It's a rare thing to get a real home-cooked meal anywhere these days.

Nice little diner. The food was extremely good for the prices. Big portions, decent sized menu, daily soups on rotation deserts on display, a breakfast bar. Real classic kinda place.
