Lowden State Park

Very well kept. Park. Sights are electricity only but still nice. Oregon Illinois is nearby and a very clean town. The waterfall on the rock river is nice to view. Blackhawk statue was cool but under repair.

Awesome trails with nice elevation and river views. The Black Hawk Statue was undergoing active construction when I was there, so I couldn't see it up close.

I love coming to Lowden. It's absolutely beautiful and you can hike and camo here as well. It's definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

Very nice and quite campground and close to the nuclear power plant which was good for me since I was there for an outage. Only problem I had there was a creepy guy staying in a tent keep trying to harass me but the park rangers took care of him. Very nice place and would definitely stay again if I’m in the area for work.

This is a true part of.our story in Illinois, it important to know about the Black Hawk war, remember those that were apart . The state park is great for families, kids, people wanting to hike, get some rest, learn, no shower facilities but it's OK to smell like camp fire for a few days!! Be respectful, pick up your moop(trash). Don't miss out on this excellent State park.

Love this park, located an hour from Chicago and gax kayaking, camping, and good trails

Nice place for picnic, hiking, camping, relaxing etc. I enjoyed visiting and will be back again.

It's always nice coming to this park. It is a really good work out climbing those stairs. If you're looking for a fun adventure and place to get some good exercise, this is the place. The statue was still covered when we went.

Wonderful statue. Good place for camping, here two kind of trails (small staircase trail and steep and slippery) and can do walk near river bank.

Exquisite park with great facilities. Good public lodging, amazing services, good camp atmosphere, and the facilities are just okay. I was surprised the the hiking and running trails, they were exceeding expectations, I would use this for a family gathering for sure, didn't, but I would. again, I didn't use this for a family gathering but I would.

Nice campgrounds. Clean restrooms with showers. We stayed in the Shady Rest side. Concession stand with camping supplies was very handy. Overall, a peaceful and quiet place to kick back and relax or hike some wooded trails if you prefer. Be sure to visit the Indian!

One of my favorite places to camp. During the week it’s very quiet and peaceful. There is always a lot of bird activity here. Great place to sit and watch birds.

Beautiful park, the stretch by the water was gorgeous, and the sunset was amazing. I'll definitely be back as this was one of my favorite hikes this year.

Beautiful scenery. Great hiking trails. A great place to see fall colors! We didn't have much time to spend, but we will definitely visit again when we have more time!

Very nice Park and campground, trails are very good marked, pit toilets very clean. Close to downtown Oregon and next to de Rock River.

Quiet escape on the East side of the park, bit too busy on the West; great trails, friendly maintenance folks, Black Hawk OR Statue as it referred to outstanding, but if we honer Native Americans now, what happened in the 1800's.

Love spending time at Lowden State Park any time of the year and Fall is my favorite because the colors of changing leafes are so bright and beautiful 🍁🍁
