Blackhawk Steak Pit

We drove an hour and a half to try this place and we are happy we did. Our Ribeye were very good as was their Old Fashion drinks. Our waiter was good and friendly.
It's kinda dark in there so be prepared. Not complaining, just a heads up. We will definitely return.

We had our work Christmas Party here and the food and the service both were wonderful! Everyone had a great time and loved their meals! The servers were very attentive to us and I could tell were just for us during that timeframe. You don't see that often! Thanks for a wonderful night!

First time here - really an incredible time! The salad bar was awesome, steaks were absolutely fantastic. We got the ribeye and the NY strip - I had the sweet potato and that brown butter sauce was out of this world delicious!! The lobster we got on the side was probably the best lobster I’ve had in my life, hands down. It was cooked to perfection as were the steaks. Drinks were tasty as well.

The only thing to mention is we ordered the scallops rumaki as an app - we hadn’t even put our meal order in or had our drinks delivered and they were served to us so quickly, that the scallops were still cold on the inside. Our waitress didn’t come back for quite a bit and we were starving so we ate them, but would’ve been nice to have been checked on to have them cooked longer - for as fast as they pushed the app itself out! Other than that no complaints about anything. We will definitely be back. :)

Steaks were delicious! Loaded baked potato, super good!! The restaurant is a bit dated and dark.

Went there for Valentine's Day dinner. Everything was perfect. Was also there about six months ago. Same, same. Highly recommended. Will definitely return

Wow! Awesome restaurant for Steak🥩 Our family enjoyed the atmosphere and ambience. You can actually see the cook, cooking the steaks! Our waitress kept the drinks coming and always was polite & kind. My Rib-eye was cooked to perfection 😋 medium rare. Loved the rice, real good salad, sweet potatoe extra.
My husband ordered the Big Chief 36 oz Center cut top sirloin! Delicious! Rare. Definitely going back! Make reservations for sure. Only open Friday thru Sunday.

Great atmosphere with phenomenal food however you guys need to make an exception for November 16th (Thursday) which is the day before deer hunting opening day. The hotel is full of hunters and we would'd love to be able to grab some food and drinks the night before

Food is excellent, service is excellent, and the atmosphere is amazing. The quality of the meat is top notch. Cooked perfectly, taste delicious and is very tender. This Steakhouse has made it into my top three favorites

Had a fantastic ribeye steak. Perfectly cooked, with not too much gristle. Washed it down with the house old fashioned, which was fantastic. Overall was a great experience and will return again.

Haven't been there in a long time, not a disappointment, food was great and so was our server! Thanks for a great time!

Went here to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday, it was our first time and we had a little bit of everything off the menu- one of the best meals we've had! And it was fun to see them grilling the steaks

My second time being here. Classic steak house atmosphere. Excellent cocktails and perfectly cooked steak and lobster! Must have the blue cheese topping!

We never fail to receive wonderful food and outstanding service here! Chicago steak house-quality steaks at almost half the price. Always fresh and expertly grilled on charcoal. This is my go to when I entertain clients or other lawyers from out of town. They are always impressed! Highly recommend. (My wife prefers seafood and this place has the freshest salmon, lobster and sea bass that she's ever tasted).

Great salad bar and The big chief with onions!!!! lots of leftovers and very delicious. I sat at the bar by myself and ate. Bartender was very friendly and a great server.

We took my elderly parents for a special Father's Day and we were very impressed. The steaks were wonderful and we all enjoyed the fresh salad bar. The service was top notch and the attention to detail was very appreciated.

The Steak pit is by far one of the best restaurants in Illinois! The food is great, the outdoor patio is perfect for summer, and the staff always treats you like you're family. The steaks and salmon are so good, escargot is a must and splurge on a fun dessert!

I really love this place and I didn't even realize it. The food is so good. And the ambiance is perfect. And the full, freaking salad bar for the love of God. How long has it been?! Truly an important part of our local food scene.
