We were blown away by the views, atmosphere and overall peacefulness of the location. The reservation only style was amazing - enough parking and social distancing. The menu was somewhat limited but did have ultra high quality ingredients and craftsmanship. Overall a true New Englander dinner experience - priceless 🦞🍁🙏🏽

My husband and I went here on our honeymoon and it did not disappoint! Not only was it a beautiful location and view but the food was delicious!!! Then owners of the restaurant where so sweet and took the time to talk to us and give us recommendations as to what to see and do while we where in Maine. We would definitely recommend this place to eat ! Thank y’all so much for such a great experience and great food !

Absolutely one of the best meals I have ever had. Steak done perfectly, garlic mashed scumsous. Can't believe only 4.2 stars. Things must have changed.

Make sure you make a reservation. The Salt Box is our most favorite restaurant in Maine. Make sure you order the fries with lemon sauce. All the plates were delicious, I especially loved the lobster Risoto. Also the Prime strip steak was cooked to perfection. Our waitress was very professional and friendly.

Have been here three weeks in a row. There isn't anything we haven't liked. But this week we both had Lobster Diablo. It was EXCELLENT!!!!!!

The restaurant is in an interesting-looking building on a well-traveled corner in Winterport. We did not have a reservation when we went on a Friday night but reservations are recommended. The food is outstanding. We had small plates, including their white salad, locally smoked seafood and chilled lobster served with butter. Oysters were delicious and local. Nice specialty cocktail selection. The Saltbox Gin & Tonic was really tasty with lavender syrup and fruit slices. Service was top notch. Great way to cap off a day downeast. The restaurant is seasonal.

Went to Salt Box to celebrate my wife’s birthday. I have a finnecky son who barely finishes his food. He ordered the steak and he said it is the best steak he had ever had. I ordered the halibut and it was stunning. This is a hidden gem of a restaurant. This was our second time and the quality is was as before- 5 stars!

If your lucky enough to make it to beautiful Winter Harbor, Maine and are looking for a 5 star dining experience - the Salt Box is a must!
My boyfriend and I were in town for the week and saved this spot for date night. The restaurant is modern, immaculate, has a great wine selection, excellent service and amazing food!

Excellent. Had the culotte steak, and it was perfectly done and oh, so tender. The mashed potatoes and roasted veg were properly prepared and seasoned. My friend had the rabbit pot pie, which, after a bite, I wished I had ordered, as well. Such great depth of flavor while preserving the individual integrity of each ingredient! The peekytoe crab dip was an excellent appetizer, and our server Jo was attentive without being intrusive. Excellent all the way around.

Wow, what a culinary experience. I ate the Cioppino, a seafood medley seasoned with fennel garlic, saffron and Pernod that was beyond what I could get in NYC or the CIA. My wife had a melt off the bone maple spiced braised pork shank with parsnips and yams. Wines, salads and desserts were equally great. We asked to meet Chef Mike and he gracious came to our table to greet us.

Chef/owner Mike puts a lot of work into the seasonal menus and the staff is fantastic at bringing that work to life.

I’ve been going to Salt Box since it’s first location in Hancock and it has always been and continues to be a real treat of creative cooking.

The building and surroundings are also beautiful, so it’s an all around great way to spend an evening.

Absolutely the highlight of our dining in Maine! Beautiful restraunt, superb and friendly service and the food was delicious. We were in winter Harbor two nights and ate there both times. The fresh fish was to die for!!

Absolutely AMAZING! Possibly the best restaurant in all of Downeast Maine! Literally everything we ate was made to perfection. The homemade pasta with cream sauce was divine. My recommendation - GO!!! One thing to remember - for some reason the iphone maps takes you to their old location in Hancock even though the address looks correct. Hand put in the address to your GPS of choice.

Excellent meal. Venison was tender and flavorful. Not gamey. Scallops were succulent. Wine selection was good. And, service was excellent. This couple would highly recommend this restaurant.

Delicious haddock chowder, green salad, and basil blueberry lemonade. The restaurant itself is a comfortable Maine atmosphere. Great service.

I had a wonderful crabmeat lasagna, watermelon gazpacho, and mixed berry crisp topped with Lavender gelato ! Superb! Not to mention the wonderful staff, decir and view. Everything has been chosen for the table, with rustic comfort in mind. Just loved it.

This is amazing place to eat. The chef is creative and off the wall with his amazing dishes. Service is amazing and so is the view!
We eat here any chance we get.

Friendly wait staff, yummy appetizers, excellent main courses though a small selection everything was great. Desserts to die for to top it all off, will definitely be back.

Formerly Mama's Boy, this restaurant is located in a beautiful space with views over the harbor. Recommend sitting in the barroom if possible. Great drinks too.

The staff is so friendly. We took advantage of the great weather and sat on the front porch and enjoyed the view of the bay. Food was absolutely delicious.
