Lake House Cafe

I loved the food here. It was top notch breaded shrimp and great Reuben as well. The service was very friendly and very quick as well which was impressive. Thanks for making my experience a fun one!

Great hometown cafe. Lots of choices for everyone. I've had the pancakes, omelets, and most recently the egg, bacon, cheese avocado croissant. All fantastic! Corned beef is homemade and not out of a can.
Servers have always been nice and attentive.
Will definitely be back.

We were aware of this place for awhile but didn't stop to eat till now. Pleasantly surprised, the interior felt a little outdated, but not terrible. That's my only negative though, the staff was friendly and attentive. Our server was a very nice, my husband asked for recommendations and he gladly talked about the menu and what he really thought was best.
The food was fast, fresh and tasted great.
It was calm and relaxing while we ate. It was very clean and comfortable, tables with chairs as well as booths to pick from. We visited around 11am, there were about 1/3 of the tables in use, and everyone was greeted quickly, and given the same service we received.
Bathrooms were clean too, plenty of parking. We are regulars at Kowabunga Comics nextdoor, so we'll be adding Lake House Cafe to our visits.
Today we tried the Friday fish fry (Perch), got 3 good sized pieces of fish, came with a cup of soup or salad, choice of potato, a roll and coleslaw. Our server said on Fridays you also get a free beer with a fish fry, but I declined. We also had a corn beef hash with scrambled eggs and hash browns.

I visited on a family trip to take the grandparents out for breakfast. It’s a nice spot in an old Arbys. The wait-staff were super nice and the food was classic diner food! I recommend visiting!

My husband and I are regulars at this place we enjoy coming here almost once a week for breakfast I haven’t left a review but something happened which made me have to say how amazing this place is. For some background I have crippling social anxiety so it is very hard for me to confront people. I ordered my food and asked asked for 2 things to be left out. Our food was brought my food had one thing I didn’t want in there so I told the wait staff and they tried to correct the issue. However the second thing I asked for not to be in my meal was there instead. I didn’t want to be a bother so I just started to pick it out not wanting to bother the staff again. My husband urged me to talk to them. But I insisted I would just pick out what was wrong with it. It was only when our server asked if everything was okay. That my anxiety started to get the best of me. I started to have a panic attack in the middle of the restaurant. I was really embarrassed. And I just wanted to leave. But the staff here was lovely and handled it amazingly. They didn’t bring attention to what had happened and made me a new meal. They are a great local business and I love to support them!

We had a great.breakfast here last week. Food, service were excellent. Homemade corn beef and crispy hashbrowns really stood out. Erin was our server. She was incredibly polite and attentive. We'll be back soon.

We took the trip to Oconomowoc for an errand this morning, so we decided to stop for breakfast. Lake House did NOT disappoint — it’s the best breakfast place we’ve been to for a long time! 🍳 The Loco Breakfast burrito, with chorizo, sausage, and bacon with scrambled eyes and grilled peppers, was great. It came with delicious sour cream and salsa 😋 The eggs Benedict came with crispy potatoes and sausage, and my wife was impressed with the hollandaise sauce even though she doesn’t normally eat eggs 🥚 Don’t let the location — a former Arby’s — fool you. It’s worth the trip!

This was our first visit for breakfast and we were pleasantly pleased with the food & service. The interior could use some TLC as our table was beside 2 buckets collecting water from the ceiling. There was a cobweb on the light fixure above our table, which tells me a good cleaning is probably needed.

Been here twice recently. Food is really good. Huevos rancheros were tasty! The best part was the waitress- she was super courteous and her communication skills were some of the best I’ve seen. I’ll be back for sure!

A new favorite! I called in 12 orders for my company's lunch on a Saturday - everything was perfect! Coworkers said to DEFINITELY keep them on our list to order from.

Servers were very nice and chicken soup was very good and seemed homemade. Table a bit dirty and sticky when we were seated. All 4 of us enjoyed the food. Chocolate pancakes, Turkey avocado wrap, and el charro breakfast burrito were all Hot, tasty, and made to otder. Waitress was absent most of meal but did a good job. Really liked the cash option. Highly recommend this place and hope it stays consistent.

Great food - nice surprise! Had lunch here for the first time. The Greek Wrap is delicious. I ordered extra Gyros meat on the side. Just a little crispy - perfect! Daughter had a Belgian Waffle with strawberries and whipped cream. She also commented on how good the food was. Convenient check out right from the table with waitress portable charge/debit machine - hand held.

Very happy for the Owner’s success. Additional breakfast options in Oconomowoc are welcomed and this place delivers! Similar the the famed Lumber Inn in Delafield with a shorter wait on a weekend morning. This will no doubt change as the word continues to spread. The location is in a former fast food restaurant, but do not let that deter you. Cafe atmosphere with excellent seating and beautiful tables. My lumberjack skillet was top notch and the toast was thick and appeared homemade. Get there and support this business today.

I would highly recommend this restaurant. Us 3 bus drivers were in town dropping off our high school football team and we chose this place from its Google reviews. Breakfast all day! We all had burgers and they were wonderful! Very friendly staff.

One off the best breakfast restaurants in lake country. Reasonable priced this place offers breakfast and lunch specials daily with your typical daily fare. The service is friendly. The food came out in a timely fashion and was delicious. I highly recommend this place when in the Oconomowoc area

We've been on a road trip, sampling local cafes as we go. Lakehouse was easily the best out of five places - because the little things were done well! The hash browns were actually crispy. The over easy eggs were cooked correctly. The ham was tender and not dried out. The waitress made a smiley face with whipped cream on kiddo's waffle. Highly recommend!

I had a delightful experience at Lakehouse Cafe today when I visited around 1:30. I decided to try the lunch special, which included the Beer Cheese Soup and a Hot Ham and Cheese Sandwich. The soup was a standout with a unique twist – they used popcorn as croutons, which added a delightful crunch.

Service was prompt, and my server, Terry, was attentive throughout the meal. The food arrived quickly, and what impressed me even more was the affordability – the entire meal only cost $10 before tipping.

One small suggestion for improvement would be to add a hook in the bathroom to hang up baby backpacks. While they did have a baby changing station and a trash can, this addition would make it even more convenient for parents.

The cleanliness of the place was commendable, and the music was at just the right volume – not too loud, creating a pleasant atmosphere. Lakehouse Cafe exudes a charming cabin vintage feel that adds to the overall dining experience. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try for a tasty and reasonably priced meal.

Everything is made from scratch, including the corned beef hash.
The "chorizo breakfast" and the crepes are must-haves.
Friendly owner/operator and staff.
Busy on Sat and Sun breakfast but worth waiting for.
Could use decor update but it's always clean.

Service was good, place is clean, great classic breakfast diner. We had the Big Boy Favorite and the Black Bear Omelete.
