Weissgerber's Golden Mast Inn

We came here for Sunday brunch. Everything was wonderful. It was served family style. You could ask for more of anything you wanted. Fruit, pastries, egg, sausages, bacon, steak, ham, turkey...there was a small buffet type line you could go up to at any time to have an omelette or Belgian waffle made. There was also a large table of fabulous deserts. Our server was excellent. I would recommend checking this restaurant out!

We held our annual banquet here in January 2024. Our room was stunning, with many windows that overlooked the frozen lake. We had champagne brunch which was amazing! Great selection of food. Everything was fresh and hot. Service was terrific and the setup was great for our awards ceremony after the meal. We had our largest attendance and the feedback on the venue, food, service was overwhelmingly positive!!! I highly recommend them for a banquet, wedding or any large group function!

This is my first time going to the Golden Mast and it definitely did not disappoint. Great decor, food, and service. We were told it would be about a 45 minute wait so we got drinks and went down by the water. Once we heard our name called we went inside and were seated. Nate was our server and did a great job. Really great attitude. We started off with rye bread then they brought out the potato salad and coleslaw. After that they brought out the all you can eat cod along with French fries and potato pancakes. All of it was great but I really enjoyed the steamed cod.

Overall I was very pleased with my experience here. The prices were definitely too high but l guess for such a fancy place it makes sense. Our server Reese said it was her first time doing brunch but she was great. Very friendly and helpful. The menu was super confusing at first but when she explained it we decided on the family brunch. The food portions were not huge but you could ask for as many refills as you wanted. Some of the food, like the potato’s, were cold and undercooked. But besides that it was all good.

Wonderful brunch, loved the experience with the varying courses, platters of food brought it the table, and the make your own pasta and omelette stations. Dessert was amazing too.

Seems to be a local favorite. They have a formal and a causal menu to suit various culinary desires. The food portions are decent but the prices are high. For us, it is more about the atmosphere for special occasions. It did appear that some people really like the food and go there quite frequently.

We had our wedding here last week and it was amazing! The venue itself is so beautiful you need minimal decor. Bar is located in the room right next to the DJ, everyone was very accommodating and helpful. The price is very reasonable and you can guarantee your guests will love their food.

A really nice dining atmosphere in an iconic lakeside building, with all the trappings of a mystery mansion. Pleasant and accommodating staff and attentive restaurant service. The brunch has a strong attention to making the basic breakfast fare into top notch dishes. Really good spicy sausage, scrambled eggs and perfect omelettes. Steak slices were excellently prepared and extremely flavorful as were all the meats. Parking is a little rough due to the lakeside locale and the restaurants popularity, so sharing a car on a Sunday might make it easier. My family has been here multiple times and will definitely be back

Wow. Just wow, great German food served in a great atmosphere. Maders is the only comparison, but the location on the lake ups the experience.

Wow! After 50 years, I am still impressed with this establishment. My family patriarch took me here for dinner when I was just four years old. We have been returning as frequently as possible, since then. It was created and run by the family founders - Großvater and Großmutter. After years of improvements they passed this Lake Country fine dining restaurant to their Son - Hans Weissgerber II + their wonderful chefs and staff. He turned it into a paradise on the lake. From there it was passed down to Lisa Marks (Weissgerber). She is the current Gastgeberin and Managerin. She and the stelar staff coupled with award-winning chefs and talented local staff make this establishment a gem of the Midwest. The hard work and effort everyone delivers at this restaurant is mind-boggling to me. I give my heart and soul out to this Herausragende Restaurantbesitzer (Lisa) and the overall facility that has stood the test of time. I award YOU and ALL your awesome staff the highest medal in my office. 😊 Congratulations!

Took my wife for her birthday and we had a great time. The food, service and atmosphere were all awesome! When we arrived we were greeted and the hostess wished happy bithday to my wife. Our waitress also wished her a happy birthday when she came to the table and when she brought out the complementry desert with a candle. We sat looking out on the lake and took our time just enjoying the night. We were not rushed but were given friendly attentive service. We will be going back soon!

We recently had our wedding reception at the Golden Mast and it was absolutely stunning. Our day could not have gone any smoother thanks to the help of their coordinator, Ali. The food was amazing, the space was beautiful and the bar staff was seriously hustling! We could not have asked for a better day and would highly recommend hosting your wedding here. Our guests are STILL raving about this place and how it is the best wedding they have attended. Thank you, Ali and the Golden Mast staff for making our day one to remember for a lifetime!

We had our wedding dinner of 12 at the Golden Mast on 11/11/23 at 6:30 PM and it was absolutely perfect! The lounge was busy but you would have never known based on the quick service by the bartenders. Our servers were so gracious and attentive, the food was delicious, the drinks were great! Thank you so very much for making our first night as husband and wife such a memorable one :-)

I went to The Golden Mast yesterday with a group of people and dogs that were fundraising for veterans to get service dogs. It was called the Pup Crawl and the Golden Mast served Irish coffee and Mimosas out on their patio for the participants and also had dog treats. It was very nice and everything was delicious.

I have been coming to the Mast my entire life. Grew up on this lake and it truly has a special place to my family. I chose to have my wedding here (8/14/21), my parents had their wedding reception here 40 years ago, and both my older brothers held their receptions here as well. It’s such a beautiful venue and it was without a doubt that I would have my own wedding here. My only compliant is working with their event coordinator, she didn’t seem like she was documenting any of our email exchanges. I sent a follow up email 2 months before our wedding and she was out of town. I was contacted by another person to inform me they didn’t have any of our meal selections documented, when I had confirmation email a month before from what we decided. This worried me, so I scheduled a final meeting a week before our wedding just to verify all details were documented clearly and no questions. Our day went without a doubt perfect, the staff was great, our ceremony space was perfect. We We couldn’t have asked for anything more. We are still getting compliments from our guests how great the food was (every meal, from vegan-steak!), and how quickly everyone got their food! I will continue to recommend the Golden Mast, even with our hiccup of dealing with their event coordinator.

My family and I visit the USA Today. 3 day in USA. A nice woman name Lisa helped my 85 year old Mother to her chair plus rest of guest. We had 15 in our party. No barrier with my native language. She help lot. Food delicious. Drink intoxicating. Service perfect. Good price. Thank you for making my USA visit fun.

Amazing! Thanksgiving dinner here seems to be a tradition for many, many people. Our party of 19 had to wait a little beyond our reservation time but it was well worth it. Most ordered the complete family style Thanksgiving dinner which I was told was delicious. I had salmon and was surprised at how good it was given how many people were dining. I've never had crispy spinach which I thought meant al dente but found out was actually dried spinach which was a nice accompaniment to the salmon. My experience leads me to want to return for one of their "normal" evening dinners.

We had brunch here a few weeks back and it was lovely. What a gem on the beautiful Wisconsin lake. I will make sure I bring my friends from DC here when I return. Purely positive experience. 🙏🏻

My now husband and I just had our wedding here in the Lake Terrace room, and saying it was an amazing success is an understatement!! First off the room was incredible, many compliments from our guests. Monica (the wedding coordinator) did an amazing job helping us with pricing, set up, accommodations of any sort, including helping us create a sign for cocktail hour and many other things as well. She is a dream to have by your side for your special day, so friendly and helpful. The staff was incredible, helped with anything we needed. My God, don't get me started about the food, we decided to do a Sunday brunch style wedding and it was jaw droppingly good! There were food items we didn't even expect to be served alongside with all the amazing brunch items of your dreams! They also had vegan options as well. I can not recommend the Golden Mast enough, if you are still debating on what venue to choose, trust me this is THE ONE! 🥰 * I am super bummed, I cannot seem to figure out how to add photos to this review so you all can see how stunning it turned out, but it looked as if it was out of a movie it was so beautiful! I was able to click add photos and tried to add a few, so hopefully they worked☺

The Golden Mast is a prize gem. It's semi/business casual, and the food simply can't be beat. I recommend getting a seat facing the lake if you can. It's a beautiful view. The price is a little high for those on a tight budget, but well worth it. They do serve large portions, and you won't leave feeling half empty. The quality is great, and the service is fantastic. If I could rate The Golden Mast with more stars, they would clearly have my vote! Whether you are just visiting town, or reside here, it's a restaurant you must try!
